3 ཐབས མཁས ཐ གས ར ཤ ཀ འ ར གས ས འཁ ངས thabkhe thukje shakya i rig su thrung With skilful means and compassion, you were born in the Śākya clan, གས ར ག ལ ན པ ལ བ ར བར ད པའ ས ser gyi lhünpo tabur jipa i ku Your physical form resplendent, like a mountain of gold. གཞན ག ས མ ཐ བ བད ད ཀ དཔ ང འཇ མས པ zhen gyi mithub dü kyi pung jompa Unconquerable by others, you vanquished Māra s hordes, ཤ ཀ འ ར ལ པ ཁ ད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ shakya i gyalpo khyö la chaktshal lo To you, the King of the Śākyas, I pay homage! 3

4 གང ག ས དང པ ར བ ང ཆ བ ཐ གས བས ད ནས gang gi dangpor jangchub thukkye ne You I shall praise, who first awakened the mind of enlightenment, མག ན ག ར ཁ ད ལ བདག ག ས བས ད པར བག gön gyur khye la dak gi töpar gyi Have become the lord and protector of living beings. ར གས ལ གཟ གས ནས ལ མ ས འཕ ལ ག rik la zik ne lhamo gyutrul gyi Descending from the god realm like a great elephant, བས ད ནམས ཡ ཤ ས ཚ གས གཉ ས ར གས མཛད ཅ ང sönam yeshe tshok nyi dzok dze ching Then completed the accumulations of merit and wisdom, ལ ར མས འད ལ མཛད གད ལ བའ ད ས མཁ ན ནས lha nam dul dze dulwa i dü khyen ne Homage to you that, having taught the gods, ལ མས ས ཞ གས པར མཛད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ lhum su zhukpar dze la chaktshal lo Foresaw the family of your birth and entered the womb of Māyādevī. ད ས འད ར མཛད པ ར ཆ ན འག བ ཡ dü dir dzepa gyachen drowa yi And now in this age, through the vast sway of your actions, ལ ལས བབས ནས ག ང ཆ ན ལ ར གཤ གས ཏ lha le bab ne langchen tar shek te Knew the time had come to tame the human world, and ཟ བ བཅ ར གས ཤ ཀ འ ས ས པ ད dawa chu dzok shakya i sepo de Homage to you, prince of the Śākyas, born after ten months 4

5 བཀ ཤ ས ལ མ འ ཚལ ད བལ མས པའ ཚ tashi lumbi i tsal du tampa i tshe In the auspicious Lumbinī grove, where གཞ ན ན ས བས ལ ན མ ཡ ས ང ད ས zhönnu tobden mi yi sengge de Homage to you, lion among men, in all your youthful vigour, འག ན ཟ མ ད པར མཛད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ drenda mepar dze la chaktshal lo So that not one could stand as your rival. ཚངས དང བར བ ན ག ས བཏ ད མཚན མཆ ག ན tshang dang gyajin gyi tü tshen chok ni Brahmā and Indra revered you, your supreme marks ཨང མ ག ད ར ས ར ལ བས ན anga magadha ru gyutsal ten Displaying your prowess in the games at Anga Magadha, འཇ ག ར ན ས ད དང མཐ ན པར བ བ དང jikten chö dang thünpar jawa dang Homage to you, who, to comply with worldly convention, བ ང ཆ བ ར གས ས ང ས མཛད ཕ ག འཚལ ལ jangchub rik su nge dze chaktshal lo Proving you was destined to be enlightened. ས བ ད གས པ ཅན ར མས ཚར བཅད ནས kyewo drekpachen nam tsharche ne Where you triumphed over the proud contestants, ཁ ན མ ཐ ས ང ཕ ར བཙ ན མ ཡ khana matho pang chir tsünmo yi And avoid all misdeeds, took on a queen and courtiers 5

6 འཁ ར དང ལ ན མཛད ཐབས ལ མཁས པ ཡ ས khor dangden dze thab la khepa yi And by acting with such skilful means, ཁ མ ནས བ ང ས མཁའ ལ གཤ གས ནས ཀ ང khyim ne jung te kha la shek ne kyang Renounced the life of a householder, བར ན པས བ ང ཆ བ ས བ པར དག ངས ནས ན tsönpe jangchub drubpar gong ne ni Homage to you, who, intent on persevering till enlightened, ར ལ ས ད ས ང བར མཛད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ gyalsi kyongwar dze la chaktshal lo So you ruled the kingdom. མཆ ད ར ན ར མ དག ད ང ད ཉ ད ལས ཉ ད chöten namdak drung du nyi le nyi And, travelling through the sky, ན རཉ ནའ འག མ ད ལ ད ག ཏ Nairanjana i dram du lo druk tu For six years practised austerities on the banks of the Nairañjanā, འཁ ར བའ བ བར ས ང པ མ ད གཟ གས ནས khorwa i jawar nyingpo me zik ne Homage to you, who saw that saṃsāra is wholly futile, རབ ཏ བ ང བར མཛད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ rabtu jungwar dze la chaktshal lo Ordained yourself before the Viśuddha Stūpa. དཀའ བ ས ད ནས བར ན འག ས མཐར ཕ ན ཏ kawa che ne tsöndrü tharchin te And taking diligence to its ultimate perfection, 6

7 བསམ གཏན མཆ ག བར ས མཛད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ samten chok nye dze la chaktshal lo Attained the supreme samādhi. ས ལ ཀ ང མ གཡ མང ན པར སངས ར ས ནས kyiltrung miyo ngönpar sangye ne Unmoving in the vajra posture beneath the bodhi-tree in Magadha ཝ ར ཎ ས ལ ས གས གནས མཆ ག ཏ varanasi lasok ne chok tu Gazed at once upon living beings, then ཐ ག མ མ ད ནས འབད པ ད ན ཡ ད ཕ ར tokma me ne bepa dön yö chir Homage to you, who, seeking to make meaningful བ ང ཆ བ ར གས པར མཛད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ jangchub dzokpar dze la chaktshal lo And awakened into true Buddhahood, attaining perfect enlightenment. ཆ ས ཀ འཁ ར ལ བས ར ནས གད ལ བ ར མས chö kyi khorlo kor ne dulja nam Turned the wheel of Dharma in sacred places like Varānasī, མ ག ད ཡ བ ང ཆ བ ཤ ང ད ང ད magadha yi jangchub shingdrung du All your efforts, made throughout beginningless time, sat ཐ གས ར ས འག ལ མ ར ད གཟ གས ནས ན thukje dro la nyurdu zik ne ni Homage to you, who, in your compassion, ཐ ག པ གས མ ལ འག ད མཛད ཕ ག འཚལ ལ thekpa sum la gö dze chaktshal lo And established disciples in the three vehicles. 7

8 གཞན ག ར ལ བ ངན པ ཚར བཅད ཕ ར zhen gyi golwa ngenpa tsharche chir Homage to you that destroyed evil-minded opponents, ཐ བ པ གཡ ལ ར ལ མཛད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ thubpa yul gyal dze la chaktshal lo You were the mighty sage, victorious in battle. ལ མ འག བ ཀ ན ག ས རབ མཆ ད པས lhami drowa kün gyi rab chöpe And through the offerings made by gods, humans and other beings, མ ས གས ས ན པ ད ག དང ལ ས བ ན ས གས mutek tönpa druk dang lhejin sok By defeating the six teachers of the tīrthikas, Devadatta and the rest, ས ད པ གས མ ན དཔ མ ད ཡ ད ཏན ག ས sipa sum na peme yönten gyi Homage to you, who performed great miracles in Śravastī, བས ན པ ར ས པར མཛད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ tenpa gyepar dze la chaktshal lo Caused the teachings to prosper and increase. འཁ ར མ འཇ ག ག ཡ ལ ད བད ད ར མས བཏ ལ khormo jik gi yul du dü nam tul As well as the maras in Varānasī; 1 མཉན ད ཡ ད པར ཆ འཕ ལ ཆ ན པ བས ན nyen du yöpar chothrul chenpo ten Unmatched in their splendour in all the three realms, ལ ལ ཅན ར མས མ ར ད བས ལ བའ ཕ ར lelo chen nam chö la kulwa i chir Homage to you, who, to spur the lazy on to the Dharma, 8

9 ར མཆ ག ག ང ག ས གཞ གཙང མ ར tsachok drong gi sazhi tsangma ru Left your body, though immortal and like a vajra, ཡང དག ཉ ད ད འཇ གས པ མ ད ཕ ར དང yangdak nyid du jikpame chir dang Homage to you, who, to show that you had not in reality perished, ས གད ང ཆ བར ད མཛད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ kudung cha gye dze la chaktshal lo Your remains to be divided into eight portions. འཆ མ ད ར ར ལ བ འ ས བཤ གས ནས chime dorje tabu i ku shek ne And passed into parinirvāṇa མ འ ངས ས མས ཅན བས ད ནམས འཐ བ བ འ ཕ ར ma ong semchen sönam thobja i chir And so that beings of the future could gain merit, མ ངན འདའ བར མཛད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ nya ngen dawar dze la chaktshal lo In the pure abode of Kuśinagara. ད ཉ ད ད ན ར ང བས ལ མང ས ལ ནས denyid du ni ringsel mang trul ne Emanated a wealth of relics, and caused 9

10 གང ཚ ར ང གཉ ས གཙ བ ཁ ད བལ མས ཚ gang tshe kang nyi tsowo khyö tam tshe When you were born, chief among human beings, ད ཚ མཁས པ ཁ ད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ detshe khepa khyö la chaktshal lo To you, O wise one, I pay homage! ཐ བ པའ བས ད པ གང ཚ ར ང གཉ ས མ Short Praise of the Buddha s Deeds by Ārya Śūra ས ཆ ན འད ལ ག མ པ བད ན བ ར ནས sa chen di la gompa dün bor ne You took seven steps on this earth and said: དང པ དགའ ལ ན ལ ཡ ཡ ལ ནས བ ན dangpo ganden lha yi yul ne jön First, you descended from the heaven of Tuṣita, ང ན འཇ ག ར ན འད ན མཆ ག ཅ ས གས ངས nga ni jikten di na chok che sung In this world I am supreme. ར ལ པ འ ཁབ ཏ ཡ མ ག ལ མས ས ཞ གས gyalpo i khab tu yum gyi lhum su zhuk And in the royal home entered your mother s womb; 10

11 ལ མ ན ཡ ཚལ ད ཐ བ པ བལ མས lumbini yi tsal du thubpa tam In the grove at Lumbinī, O sage, you were born: ཤ ཀ འ ག ང ད གཞ ན ན ས ར ལ ར ད མཛད shakya i drong du zhönnü roltse dze You spent your youth in sports at the house of the Śākyas; ག ང ཁ ར ས བཞ ར ས བའ ཚ ལ བས ན ནས drongkhyer go zhir kyowa i tshul ten ne At the four city gates, you were shown the four kinds of sorrow, བཅ མ ལ ན ལ ཡ ལ ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ chomden lha yi lha la chaktshal lo To the victorious god among gods, I pay homage! ས ར ས འ གནས ས ས འཚ ཁབ ཏ བཞ ས serkye ne su sa tso khab tu zhe At Kapilavastu you took Gopā as your wife: མཆ ད ར ན ར མ དག ད ང ད དབ ས བས ལ chöten namdak drung du utra sil And cut your own hair in front of the Viśddha Stūpa; གཞལ ཡས ཁང ད མ མ བར ད བཞ ས མཆ ད zhyalye khang du mama gye zhi chö You were tended by thirty-two nurses at the palace, ས ད གས མ མཚ ངས མ ད ས ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ si sum tshungme ku la chaktshal lo To you who are unequalled in the three worlds, I pay homage! ན རཉ ནའ འག མ ད བཀའ ཐ བ མཛད nairanjana i dram du kathub dze On the banks of the Nairañjanā you practised as an ascetic: 11

12 ས བ གཉ ས ས ན དང བ ལ ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ drib nyi kyön dang dral la chaktshal lo To you who are free from the faults of the two obscurations, I pay homage! མ ག ད ར ཐ བ པ མང ན སངས ར ས magadha ru thubpa ngön sangye In Magadha, O sage, you realized Buddhahood: ཛ ཏའ ཚལ ད ཆ འཕ ལ ཆ ན པ བས ན dzeta i tshal du chothrul chenpo ten And in the Jeta Grove you showed great miracles; ར ལ པ འ ཁབ ཏ ག ང ཆ ན ས ན པ བཏ ལ gyalpo i khab tu langchen nyönpa tul At Rājagṛha you tamed a rogue elephant, མཁ ན པའ ཡ ཤ ས འབར ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ khyenpa i yeshe bar la chaktshal lo To you in whom omniscient wisdom blossomed, I pay homage! ར མཆ ག ག ང ད དག ངས པ མ ངན འདས tsachok drong du gongpa nya ngen de At Kuśinagara your wisdom mind passed into parinirvāṇa: ཡངས པ ཅན ད ས འ ས ས ང ར ཕ ལ yangpachen du tre ü drangtsi phul In Vaiśālī the monkeys offered you honey; ཝ ར ཎ ས ར ཆ ས ཀ འཁ ར ལ བས ར varanasir chö kyi khorlo kor At Varānasī you turned the wheel of Dharma, ཐ གས ན ནམ མཁའ འད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ thuk ni namkha dra la chaktshal lo To you whose mind is like the sky, I pay homage! 12

13 ད ལ ར བས ན པའ བདག པ བཅ མ ལ ན ག detar tenpa i dakpo chomden gyi Through the merit of this brief praise of བད གཤ གས ཉ ད ཀ ས ད དང མཚ ངས པར ཤ ག deshek nyi kyi chö dang tsungpar shok Come to equal the acts of the Sugata himself. མཛད པའ ཚ ལ ལ མད ཙམ བས ད པ ཡ dzepa i tshul la do tsam töpa yi The deeds of the Enlightened One, Master of the Teaching, དག བས འག བ ཀ ན ག ས ད པ ཡང gewe drowa kün gyi chöpa yang May the actions of all living beings 13

15 ས ངས ར གས མཐར ཕ ན ཞ བ ཆ ས ཀ དབ ངས མཚན དཔ འ དཔལ འབར བད ཆ ན ལ ངས ས ད ར གས གད ལ བ འ ཁམས དང མཐ ན པར ས ལ པའ གར ས གས མ ར མ འད ན ར མཚ ར གས ལ བ འད བས pangtok tharchin zhiwa chö kyi ying tshen pe i pal bar dechen longchö dzok dulja i kham dang thunpar trulpa i gar kusum namdren gyatshor solwa deb Peaceful dharmadhatu complete with ultimate abandonment and realization, Greatly blissful sambhogakaya, ablaze with the major and minor marks, The display of nirmanakaya that manifests accordingly to the dispositions of sentient beings, I supplicate you, the three kayas, and the ocean of Buddha. 15

16 བས ལ བཟང ས ན མ བཞ པ ཤ ཀ འ ཏ ག མ ཕམ འཇམ པའ དབ ངས དང གསང བའ བདག ས ན རས གཟ གས དབང མཚ ས ས ར ར ས གས ར ལ དང ད ས ས ར མས ལ གས ལ བ འད བས kalzang drönme zhipa shakya i tok mapham jampa i yang dang sangwa i dak chenrezig wang tshokye dorje sok gyal dang de se nam la solwa deb The fourth guide of this golden age, crown jewel of Shakyas, Ajita, Manjugosha, Vajrapani, Avalokiteswara, the Lotus-born and the rest, I supplicate you, the jinas and their sons. 16

17 གནས བར ན བཅ ད ག གཏད རབས ར མ པ བད ན ར ན ད ག ས བ དཔ ན གས མ དང ར ག འཛ ན བར ད ར ལ འབ ར དབང ཕ ག བར ད ཅ ར བཞ ས གས འཕགས ཡ ལ པཎ ག བ ར མས ལ གས ལ བ འད བས neten chudruk te rab nampa dün gyen druk lobpön sum dang rigdzin gye naljor wangchuk gyechu tsa zhi sok phagyul pendrub nam la solwa deb The sixteen sthaviras, the succession of seven arhats, The six ornaments, the three acaryas, and the eight vidyadharas, The lord of yogis, the eighty-four mahasiddhas, I supplicate you, the panditas and siddhas of the noble land of India. 17

18 གངས ཅན བས ན པའ ས ལ འབ ད ར ང མ པ ཡ ངས ར གས བས ན པ ར ས མཛད ས ས པ བས ན འཛ ན བ བའ འབ ང གནས བཀའ གདམས པའ བཤ ས གཉ ན བར ད པར བཅས ལ གས ལ བ འད བས gangchen tenpa i solje nyingma pa yongdzok tenpa gye dze sakya pa tendzin jewa i jungne kadampa i shenyen gyudpar che la solwa deb Nyingmapas, the founders of the buddha-dharma in the land of snow, Sakyapas, the propagators of the perfect Buddha dharma, Kadampas, the source of countless dharma-holders, I supplicate you, the spiritual teachers and their lineage. 18

19 ཟ མ ད ག བ པའ ས ང ལམ བཀའ བར ད པ ཟབ ར ས ར ད ས འ མངའ བདག བ ད ལ གཉ ས འཇམ དབ ངས ཆ ས ཀ ཉ མ ཙ ང ཁ པ བར ད འཛ ན ས བ མ བཅས ལ གས ལ བ འད བས dame drubpa i seng lam kagyu pa zabjye gyude i ngadak bu dol nyi jamyang chökyi nyima tsongkhapa gyudzin lobma che la solwa deb Kagyupas, the lineage of the unrivalled inner path of practice, Buton and Dolpowa, the masters of the vast and profound tantra classes, Tsongkhapa, emanation of Manjushri, the sun of dharma, I supplicate you, the lineage holders with your disciples. 19

20 གཞན ཡང ཚད མ འད ལ མང ན ཕར ཕ ན དང དབ མ ཞ བ ད གཅ ད ཡ ལ བར ད པ ས གས བཤད དང ས བ པ ལ བར ན ལ ང ར གས ཀ བས ན འཛ ན ཆ ན པ ར མས ལ གས ལ བ འད བས zhenyang tshema dül ngön pharchin dang uma zhije chöyul gyupa sok shed dang drubpa la ten lung tok kyi tendzin chenpo nam la solwa deb Also, the lineage-holders of Pramana, Vinaya, Abhidharma, Prajnaparamita, Madhyamika, Shije and Chod, I supplicate you, great holders of the teachings of the scriptures and realization, That rest upon the paths of teaching and practice. 20

21 ཁ ད པར ས ན པ མཆ ག ནས ད ལ འ བར ར མ བ ན བར ད པའ བ མ ཐམས ཅད ཀ ཡ ཤ ས གཅ ག ཏ བས ས པའ ས གཟ གས མཆ ག ར བའ བ མའ ཞབས ལ གས ལ བ འད བས khyepar tönpa chogne data i bar rim jön gyupa i lama thamche kyi yeshe chigtu düpa i chi zuk chok tsaba i lama i zhab la solwa deb In particular, I supplicate the root guru, The supreme embodiment uniting into one the wisdom of all the lineage gurus, Who have appeared successively from the time of Supreme Teacher up until now. 21

22 ད ལ ར མ ཕ ད ག ས པས གས ལ བཏབ མཐ ས ས ད ལས ང ས འབ ང ཞ བད ར མ ཆགས པར བ མས དང ས ང ར བ ང ཆ བ ས མས གཉ ས ཀ ས ར ལ ས ས ས ད ལ འཇ ག པར བ ན ག ས ར བས detar miche güpe soltab thü sid le ngejung zhider ma chag par jam dang nyingje jangchub sem nyi kyi gyalse chö la jukpar jingyi lob Grant your blessings that by the power of supplicating thus with undivided devotion, We will renounce samsaric existence and not be attached to the peaceful bliss of nirvana; That we may enter into the way of bodhisattva, And give rise to loving-kindness, compassion, and the two-fold bodhicitta. 22

23 ཚ ལ གནས ཐ ས བསམ ས མ པ མཐར ཕ ན ཅ ང དབང ག ས ར ད ས ན དམ ཚ ག ར མ པར དག ར མ གཉ ས ལས བ ང ས བ དང མ ས བ པའ ཟ ང འཇ ག ཡ ཤ ས འག བ པར བ ན ག ས ར བས tshulne thösam gompa tharchin ching wang gi gyumin damtshik nampar dak rim nyi lejung lob dang milob pa i zungjuk yeshe drubpar jingyi lob Grant your blessings that we will accomplish learning, contemplation and meditation while maintaining discipline, That our minds will ripen through empowerment, that we will sustain pure samaya, And attain the union-wisdom of learning and non-learning Born from the development and completion stages. 27 ཇ ས ད ས དག ཕ གས བཅ འ འཇ ག ར ན ན jinye su dak chok chu i jikten na To all the Buddhas, the lions of the human race, ལ ས དང ངག ཡ ད དང བས ཕ ག བག འ lü dang ngak yid dangwe chak gyi o Devotion fills my body, speech and mind. འཕགས པ འཇམ དཔལ གཞ ན ན ར ག ར པ ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ phakpa jampal zhönnur gyurpa la chaktshal lo Homage to Mañjuśrī, the youthful! ད ས གས མ གཤ གས པ མ ཡ ས ང ག ཀ ན dü sum shekpa mi yi senge kün In all directions of the universe, through past and present and future: བཟང པ ས ད པའ ས ན ལམ ས བས དག ག ས zangpo chöpé mönlam tob dak gi Through the power of this prayer, aspiring to Good Action, བདག ག ས མ ལ ས ད དག ཐམས ཅད ལ dak gi malü dedak thamche la To every single one of you, I bow in homage; ར ལ བ ཐམས ཅད ཡ ད ཀ མང ན ས མ ད gyalwa thamche yi kyi ngönsum du All the victorious ones appear, vivid here before my mind 27

28 ཞ ང ག ར ལ ས ད ལ ས རབ བཏ ད པ ཡ ས zhing gi dul nye lü rab tüpa yi And I multiply my body as many times as atoms in the universe, སངས ར ས ས ས ཀ དབ ས ན བཞ གས པ དག sangye se kyi ü na zhukpa dak And around them, all their bodhisattva heirs: ད དག བས གས པ མ ཟད ར མཚ ར མས dedak ngakpa mize gyatso nam Saluting them with an endless ocean of praise, ར ལ བ ཀ ན ལ རབ ཏ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ gyalwa kün la rabtu chaktshal lo Each one bowing in prostration to all the Buddhas. ད ལ ར ཆ ས ཀ དབ ངས ར མས མ ལ ས པ detar chö kyi ying nam malüpa And so I imagine them filling དབ ངས ཀ ཡན ལག ར མཚ འ ས ཀ ན ག ས yang kyi yenlak gyatso i dra kün gyi With the sounds of an ocean of different melodies ར ལ གཅ ག ས ང ན ར ལ ས ད སངས ར ས ར མས dul chik teng na dul nye sangye nam In every atom preside as many Buddhas as there are atoms, ཐམས ཅད ར ལ བ དག ག ས གང བར མ ས thamche gyalwa dak gi gangwar mö Completely the entire space of reality. ར ལ བ ཀ ན ག ཡ ན ཏན རབ བར ད ཅ ང gyalwa kün gyi yönten rab jö ching I sing of the Buddhas noble qualities, 28

29 བད བར གཤ གས པ ཐམས ཅད བདག ག ས བས ད dewar shekpa thamche dak gi tö And praise all those who have gone to perfect bliss. མར མ མཆ ག དང བད ག ས ས དམ པ ཡ ས marme chok dang dukpö dampa yi Of music and perfumed ointments, the best of parasols, ཕ མའ ཕ ར མ ར རབ མཉམ པ དང chema i phurma rirab nyampa dang Exquisite garments and the most fragrant scents, མ ཏ ག དམ པ ཕ ང བ དམ པ དང metok dampa threngwa dampa dang To every Buddha, I make offerings: ར ལ བ ད དག ལ ན མཆ ད པར བག gyalwa dedak la ni chöpar gyi The brightest lamps and finest incense. བཀ ད པ ཁ ད པར འཕགས པའ མཆ ག ཀ ན ག ས köpa khyepar phakpa i chok kün gyi Powdered incense, heaped as high as Mount Meru, ས ལ ས ན ར མས དང བ ག པ གད གས མཆ ག དང silnyen nam dang jukpa duk chok dang Of the loveliest flowers, of beautiful garlands, ན བཟའ དམ པ ར མས དང ད མཆ ག དང naza dampa nam dang dri chok dang To every Buddha, I make offerings: ར ལ བ ད དག ལ ན མཆ ད པར བག gyalwa dedak la ni chöpar gyi Arranged in perfect symmetry. 29

30 མཆ ད པ གང ར མས བ མ ད ར ཆ བ chöpa gang nam lamé gya chewa Then the vast and unsurpassable offerings ར ལ བ ཀ ན ལ ཕ ག འཚལ མཆ ད པར བག gyalwa kün la chaktshal chöpar gyi I prostrate and offer to all you victorious ones. ས ག པ བདག ག ས བག ས པ ཅ མཆ ས པ dikpa dak gi gyipa chi chipa With my body, my speech and also with my mind, ད དག ར ལ བ ཐམས ཅད ལ ཡང མ ས dedak gyalwa thamche la yang mö Inspired by my devotion to all the Buddhas, and འད ད ཆགས ཞ ས ང གཏ མ ག དབང ག ས ན döchak zhedang timuk wang gi ni Whatever negative acts I have committed, ད དག ཐམས ཅད བདག ག ས ས ས ར བཤགས dedak thamche dak gi sosor shak Before you, I confess and purify each and every one. བཟང པ ས ད ལ དད པའ ས བས དག ག ས zangpo chö la depa i tob dak gi Moved by the power of my faith in Good Actions ལ ས དང ངག དང ད བཞ ན ཡ ད ཀ ས ཀ ང lü dang ngak dang dezhin yi kyi kyang While driven by desire, hatred and ignorance, ཕ གས བཅ འ ར ལ བ ཀ ན དང སངས ར ས ས ས chok chu i gyalwa kün dang sangye se With a heart full of delight, I rejoice at all the merits 30

31 རང ར ལ ར མས དང ས བ དང མ ས བ དང ranggyal nam dang lob dang mi lob dang Of Buddhas and bodhisattvas, གང ར མས ཕ གས བཅ འ འཇ ག ར ན ས ན མ དག gang nam chok chu i jikten drönma nam You who are like beacons of light shining through the worlds, འཁ ར ལ བ ན མ ད པ བས ར བར བས ལ khorlo lana mepar korwar kul Turn the unsurpassable wheel of Dharma. འག བ ཀ ན ག བས ད ནམས གང ལ ཡང drowa kün gyi sönam gangla yang Pratyekabuddhas, those in training and the arhats beyond training, བ ང ཆ བ ར མ པར སངས ར ས མ ཆགས བར ས jangchub rimpar sangye machak nye Who passed through the stages of enlightenment, to attain Buddhahood, freedom from all attachment, མ ངན འདའ ས ན གང བཞ ད ད དག ལ nya ngen da tön gang zhe dedak la Joining my palms together, I pray ད དག ཀ ན ག ར ས ས བདག ཡ རང dedak kün gyi jesu dak yi rang And every living being, throughout the entire universe. མག ན པ ད དག བདག ག ས ཐམས ཅད ལ gönpo dedak dak gi thamche la I exhort you: all of you protectors, འག བ ཀ ན ལ ཕན ཞ ང བད བའ ཕ ར drowa kün la phen zhing dewa i chir To you who intend to pass into nirvāṇa, 31

32 བས ལ པ ཞ ང ག ར ལ ས ད བཞ གས པར ཡང kalpa zhing gi dul nye zhukpar yang Remain, for aeons as many as the atoms in this world, ར ས ས ཡ རང བས ལ ཞ ང གས ལ བ ཡ jesu yi rang kul zhing solwa yi Through offering, confession, and rejoicing, འདས པའ སངས ར ས ར མས དང ཕ གས བཅ ཡ depa i sangye nam dang chok chu yi Let offerings be made to Buddhas of the past, བདག ག ཐལ མ རབ ས ར གས ལ བར བག dak gi thalmo rab jar solwar gyi And bring well-being and happiness to all living beings. དག བ ཅ ང ཟད བདག ག ས ཅ བསགས པ gewa chungze dak gi chi sakpa Through exhortation and prayer all of it འཇ ག ར ན དག ན གང བཞ གས མཆ ད པར ག ར jikten dak na gang zhuk chöpar gyur And all who now dwell throughout the ten directions of this universe! ཕ ག འཚལ བ དང མཆ ད ཅ ང བཤགས པ དང chaktshalwa dang chö ching shakpa dang What little virtue I have gathered through my homage, ཐམས ཅད བདག ག ས བ ང ཆ བ ཕ ར བས འ thamche dak gi jangchub chir ngo o I dedicate to the enlightenment of all beings! གང ཡང མ བ ན ད དག རབ མ ར བར gangyang majön dedak rab nyurwar Let all who are yet to come swiftly fulfil their wishes 32

33 བསམ ར གས བ ང ཆ བ ར མ པར སངས ར ས ས ན sam dzok jangchub rimpar sangye chön And attain the stages of enlightenment and Buddhahood! བ ང ཆ བ ཤ ང དབང ད ང གཤ གས ར ལ བ དང jangchub shingwang drung shek gyalwa dang Filled with Buddhas who have sat before the mighty bodhi tree, ད དག ར ག ཏ ནད མ ད བད བར ག ར dedak taktu neme dewar gyur Live always and forever in happiness and health! ཕ གས བཅ ག ལའ ཞ ང ར མས ཇ ས ད པ chok chu gala i zhing nam ji nye pa Let as many worlds as there are in all the ten directions སངས ར ས ས ས ཀ ས རབ ཏ གང བར ཤ ག sangye se kyi rabtu gangwar shok Around them all their bodhisattva sons and daughters! འག བ ཀ ན ག ཆ ས ཀ ད ན ར མས ན drowa kün gyi chö kyi dön nam ni Let all beings meet the Dharma ད དག ར ཆ ར ཡ ངས ས དག པར ག ར dedak gyacher yongsu dakpar gyur Transform into realms that are vast and utterly pure, ཕ གས བཅ འ ས མས ཅན གང ར མས ཇ ས ད པ chok chu i semchen gang nam ji nye pa Let as many sentient beings as there are in all the ten directions མཐ ན པར ག ར ཅ ང ར བའང འག བ པར ཤ ག thünpar gyur ching rewa ang drubpar shok That befits them best! And so may all they hope for be fulfilled! 33

34 བ ང ཆ བ ས ད པ དག ན བདག ས ད ཅ ང jangchub chöpa dak ni dak chö ching As I practise the training for enlightenment, ར ག ཏ བདག ན རབ ཏ འབ ང བར ཤ ག taktu dak ni rabtu jungwar shok May I always renounce the worldly life! ཚ ལ ཁ མས ས ད པ ད མ ད ཡ ངས དག པ tshulthrim chöpa drime yong dakpa And my moral conduct be taintless and pure, འག བ ཀ ན ཏ ས བ ད ན པར འག ར drowa küntu kyewa drenpar gyur May I recall all my previous births, ར ལ བ ཀ ན ག ར ས ས ས བ ག ར ཏ gyalwa kün gyi jesu lob gyur te Training in the footsteps of all the victorious Buddhas, ར ག ཏ མ ཉམས ས ན མ ད ས ད པར ཤ ག taktu manyam kyönme chöpar shok Never lapsing, and always free from fault! ཚ རབས ཀ ན ཏ འཆ འཕ ས བ ན tsherab küntu chipho kyewa na And in my successive lives, through death and through rebirth, བཟང པ ས ད པ ཡ ངས ས ར གས བ ད ཅ ང zangpo chöpa yongsu dzok je ching May I bring Good Actions to perfection, ལ ཡ ས ད དང ཀ དང གན ད ས ན ས ད lha yi ke dang lu dang nöjin ke In the language of the gods, nāgas, and yakṣas, 34

35 ག ལ བ མ དག དང མ ཡ ས ད ར མས དང drulbum dak dang mi yi ke nam dang In the language of demons and of humans too, ད ས ཤ ང ཕ ར ལ ཕ ན ལ རབ བར ན ཏ de shing pharol chin la rab tsön te Taming my mind, and striving in the pāramitās, ད དག མ ལ ས ཡ ངས ས བ ང བར ཤ ག dedak malü yongsu jangwar shok Be completely purified, every single one! འག བ ཀ ན ག ས ར མས ཇ ཙམ པར drowa kün gyi dra nam ji tsampar In however many kinds of speech there may be བ ང ཆ བ ས མས ན ནམ ཡང བར ད མ ག ར jangchub sem ni namyang je magyur I will never forget the bodhicitta; ལས དང ཉ ན མ ངས བད ད ཀ ལས ར མས ལས le dang nyönmong dü kyi le nam le May I be freed from karma, harmful emotions, and the work of negativity, ཐམས ཅད ས ད ད བདག ག ས ཆ ས ས ན ཏ thamche ke du dak gi chö ten to I shall proclaim the Dharma in the language of all! ས ག པ གང ར མས ས བ པར ག ར པ དག dikpa gang nam dribpar gyurpa dak May all my harmful actions and the obscurations they cause ག ལ ཞ ང འཇ ག ར ན འག བ ར མས ས ཡང drol zhing jikten drowa nam su yang And act for all beings in the world, 35

36 ཇ ལ ར པད ཆ ས མ ཆགས པ བཞ ན jitar pemo chü michakpa zhin Just like the lotus flower to which mud and water cannot cling, ངན ས ང ས ག བས ལ རབ ཏ ཞ བར བ ད ngensong dukngal rabtu zhiwar je I shall pacify completely the suffering of all the lower realms, བ ང ཆ བ ས ད པ ཡ ངས ས ར གས བ ད ཅ ང jangchub chöpa yongsu dzokje ching I shall bring enlightened action to perfection, ཉ ཟ ནམ མཁར ཐ གས པ མ ད ལ ར ས ད nyida namkhar tokpame tar che Or sun and moon that course unhindered through the sky. བད བ དག ལ འག བ ཀ ན འག ད ཅ ང dewa dak la drowa kün gö ching I shall lead all beings to happiness, ས མས ཅན དག ག ས ད དང མཐ ན པར འཇ ག semchen dak gi chö dang tünpar juk Serve beings so as to suit their needs, ཞ ང ག ཁ ན དང ཕ གས ར མས ཇ ཙམ པར zhing gi khyön dang chok nam chi tsampar Throughout the reach and range of the entire universe འག བ ཐམས ཅད ལ ན ཕན པར ས ད drowa thamche la ni penpar che And work for the ultimate benefit of each and every one! བཟང པ ས ད པ དག ན རབ ས ན ཅ ང zangpo chöpa dak ni rab tön ching Teach them to accomplish Good Actions, 36

37 མ འ ངས བས ལ པ ཀ ན ཏ ས ད པར ག ར ma ong kalpa küntu chöpar gyur And continue this, throughout all the aeons to come! ལ ས དང ངག ར མས དང ན ས མས ཀ ས ཀ ང lü dang ngak nam dang ni sem kyi kyang And in body, speech and mind as well, བཟང པ ས ད པ རབ ཏ ས ན པ ར མས zangpo chöpa rabtu tönpa nam Who long to be of true help to me, བདག ག ས ད དང མཚ ངས པར གང ས ད པ dak gi chö dang tsungpar gang chöpa May I always meet and be accompanied by ས ད པ དག དང ས ན ལམ གཅ ག ཏ ས ད chöpa dak dang mönlam chik tu che May our actions and aspirations always be one! ད དག དང ཡང ར ག ཏ འཕ ད པར ཤ ག dedak dang yang taktu threpar shok And who teach me the Good Actions; ད དག དང ན ར ག ཏ འག གས པར ཤ ག dedak dang ni taktu drokpar shok Those whose actions accord with mine; བདག ལ ཕན པར འད ད པའ ག གས པ དག dak la penpar döpé drokpo dak May I always meet spiritual friends ད དག བདག ག ས ནམ ཡང ཡ ད མ དབ ང dedak dak gi namyang yi miyung Never will I disappoint them! 37

38 སངས ར ས ས ས ཀ ས བས ར བའ མག ན པ ར མས sangye se kyi korwa i gönpo nam May I always behold the Buddhas, here before my eyes, ད དག ལ ཡང མཆ ད པ ར ཆ ར བག dedak la yang chöpa gyacher gyi May the offerings I make them be endless and vast! བཟང པ ས ད པ ར མ པར ས ང བ ཡང zangpo chöpa nampar jongwa yang May I train to perfection in Good Actions, མང ན ས མ ར ག ཏ བདག ག ས ར ལ བ བལ ngönsum taktu dak gi gyalwa ta And around them all their bodhisattva sons and daughters. ར ལ བ ར མས ཀ དམ པའ ཆ ས འཛ ན ཅ ང gyalwa nam kyi dampa i chö dzin ching May I maintain the sacred teachings of the Buddhas, མ འ ངས བས ལ པ ཀ ན ཏ ས ད པར བག ma ong kalpa küntu chepar gyi And practise these in every age to come! མ འ ངས བས ལ པ ཀ ན ཏ མ ས བར ma ong kalpa küntu mikyowar Without ever tiring, throughout all the aeons to come, བ ང ཆ བ ས ད པ ཀ ན ཏ ས ང བར བ ད jangchub chöpa küntu nangwar je And cause enlightened action to appear; ས ད པ ཐམས ཅད ད ཡང འཁ ར བ ན sipa thamche du yang khorwa na As I wander through all states of samsaric existence, 38

39 བས ད ནམས ཡ ཤ ས དག ན མ ཟད བར ས sönam yeshe dak ni mize nye May I gather inexhaustible merit and wisdom, ར ལ གཅ ག ས ང ན ར ལ ས ད ཞ ང ར མས ཏ dul chik teng na dul nye zhing nam te In a single atom may I see as many pure realms as atoms in the universe: བ ང ཆ བ ས ད པ ས ད ཅ ང བལ བར བག jangchub chepa chö ching tawar gyi Along with them, may I perform the actions of enlightenment! ཐབས དང ཤ ས རབ ཏ ང འཛ ན ར མ ཐར དང thab dang sherab tingdzin namthar dang And so become an inexhaustible treasury of noble qualities ཞ ང ད ར བསམ ག ས མ ཁ བ སངས ར ས ར མས zhing der sam gyi mikhyab sangye nam And in each realm, Buddhas beyond all imagining, ད ལ ར མ ལ ས ཐམས ཅད ཕ གས ས ཡང detar malü thamche chok su yang And so, in each direction, everywhere, ཡ ན ཏན ཀ ན ག མ ཟད མཛ ད ད ག ར yönten kün gyi mize dzö du gyur Of skill and discernment, samādhi and liberation! སངས ར ས ས ས ཀ དབ ས ན བཞ གས པ ལ sangye se kyi ü na zhukpa la Encircled by all their bodhisattva heirs. ས ཙམ ཁ ན ལ ད ས གས མ ཚད ས ད ཀ tra tsam khyön la dü sum tshe nye kyi Even on the tip of a hair, may I see an ocean of Buddha 39

40 སངས ར ས ར མཚ ཞ ང ར མས ར མཚ དང sangye gyatso zhing nam gyatso dang All to come in past, present and future in an ocean of pure realms, ར ལ བ ཀ ན དབ ངས ཡན ལག ར མ དག པ gyalwa kün yang yenlak namdakpa Bears all the purity of the speech of all the Buddhas, ད ས གས མ གཤ གས པའ ར ལ བ ཐམས ཅད དག dü sum shekpa i gyalwa thamche dak With all the power of my mind, may I hear and realize བས ལ པ ར མཚ ར ས ད ཅ ང རབ ཏ འཇ ག kalpa gyatso chö ching rabtu juk And throughout an ocean of aeons, may I enter into enlightened action in each and every one! འག བ ཀ ན ག བསམ པ ཇ བཞ ན དབ ངས drowa kün gyi sampa jizhin yang Sounds that harmonize with the minds of all living beings: འཁ ར ལ འ ཚ ལ ར མས རབ ཏ བས ར བ ཡ khorlö tshul nam rabtu korwa yi The inexhaustible melody of the teachings spoken by གས ང གཅ ག ཡན ལག ར མཚ འ ས ས ད ཀ ས sung chik yenlak gyatsö drake kyi Each single word of a Buddha s speech, that voice with its ocean of qualities, སངས ར ས གས ང ལ ར ག ཏ འཇ ག པར བག sangye sung la taktu jukpar gyi May I always be engaged with the speech of the Buddhas! ད དག ག ཡང གས ང དབ ངས མ ཟད ལ dedak gi yang sung yang mize la All the Buddhas of past, present and future, 40

41 བ ཡ ས བས ཀ ས བདག ཀ ང རབ ཏ འཇ ག lo yi tob kyi dak kyang rabtu juk As they turn the wheels of Dharma! གང ཡང བས ལ པ ད ས གས མ ཚད ད དག gangyang kalpa dü sum tshe dedak And in each fraction of an instant may I know ད དག ས ད ཅ ག གཅ ག ལ བདག ག ས བལ dedak kechik chik la dak gi ta The Buddhas of past, present and future! མ འ ངས བས ལ པ ཐམས ཅད འཇ ག པར ཡང ma ong kalpa thamche jukpar yang Just as the wisdom of the Buddhas penetrates all future aeons, ས ད ཅ ག ཆ ཤས ཀ ས ན ཞ གས པར ས ད kechik chashe kyi ni zhukpar che All that will ever be, in past, present and future! ར ག ཏ ད དག ག ན ས ད ཡ ལ ལ taktu dedak gi ni chöyul la May I always be engaged in the Buddhas way of life and action, ས ད ཅ ག གཅ ག ག ས བདག ཀ ང འཇ ག པར བག kechik chik gi dak kyang jukpar gyi So may I too know them, instantly, ད ས གས མ གཤ གས པ མ ཡ ས ང ག གང dü sum shekpa mi yi senge gang In an instant, may I behold all those who are the lions of the human race, ས མར ག ར པའ ར མ ཐར ས བས ཀ ས འཇ ག gyumar gyurpa i namthar tob kyi juk Through the power of liberation, where all is realized as like an illusion! 41

42 གང ཡང ད ས གས མ དག ག ཞ ང བཀ ད པ gangyang dü sum dak gi zhing köpa On a single atom, may I actually bring about ར ལ བ དག ག ཞ ང ར མས བཀ ད ལ འཇ ག gyalwa dak gi zhing nam kö la juk In each atom, and in each and every direction. མ ངན འདས པ རབ ཏ ཞ མཐའ ས ན nya ngen depa rabtu zhi tha tön And demonstrate the final, profound peace of nirvāṇa: ད དག ར ལ གཅ ག ས ང ད མང ན པར བས བ dedak dul chik tengdu ngönpar drub The entire array of pure realms of past, of present and future; གང ཡང མ བ ན འཇ ག ར ན ས ན མ ར མས gangyang majön jikten drönma nam When those who illuminate the world, still to come, མག ན པ ཀ ན ག ད ང ད བདག མཆ འ gönpo kün gyi drung du dak chi o May I be always in their presence! ད ལ ར མ ལ ས ཕ གས ར མས ཐམས ཅད ད detar malü chok nam thamche du And then enter into those pure Buddha realms བ ང ཆ བ ར མ པར འཚང ར འཁ ར ལ བས ར jangchub rimpar tshang gya khorlo kor Gradually attain Buddhahood, turn the Wheel of Dharma, ཀ ན ཏ མ ར བའ ར འཕ ལ ས བས ར མས དང küntu nyurwé dzutrul tob nam dang Through the power of swift miracles, 42

43 ཀ ན ནས ས ཡ ཐ ག པའ ས བས ར མས དང künne go yi thekpa i tob nam dang The power of the vehicle, like a doorway, ཀ ན ནས དག བའ བས ད ནམས ས བས ར མས དང künne gewa i sönam tob nam dang The power of merit that is totally virtuous, བ ང ཆ བ ས བས ར མས ཡང དག ས བ པར བ ད jangchub tob nam yangdak drubpar je May I perfectly accomplish the power of enlightenment! ཀ ན ཏ ཡ ན ཏན ས ད པའ ས བས ར མས དང küntu yönten chöpa i tob nam dang The power of conduct that possesses all virtuous qualities, ཆགས པ མ ད པར ག ར པའ ཡ ཤ ས ས བས chakpa mepar gyurpa i yeshe tob The power of wisdom free from attachment, and ལས ཀ ས བས ར མས ཡ ངས ས དག བ ད ཅ ང le kyi tob nam yongsu dakje ching May I purify the power of karma; ཀ ན ཏ ཁ བ པ བ མས པ དག ག ས བས küntu khyabpa jampa dak gi tob The power of loving kindness, all-pervasive, ཤ ས རབ ཐབས དང ཏ ང འཛ ན ས བས དག ག ས sherab thab dang tingdzin tob dak gi The powers of knowledge, skilful means and samādhi, ཉ ན མ ངས ས བས ར མས ཀ ན ཏ འཇ མས པར བ ད nyönmong tob nam küntu jompar je Destroy the power of harmful emotions; 43

44 བད ད ཀ ས བས ར མས ས བས མ ད རབ བ ད ཅ ང dü kyi tob nam tobme rabje ching Render negativity utterly powerless; ས མས ཅན ར མཚ དག ན ར མ པར ས ལ semchen gyatso dak ni nampar drol Liberate oceans of sentient beings; ས ད པ ར མཚ ར མ པར དག བ ད ཅ ང chöpa gyatso nampar dakje ching Perfect oceans of actions; བཟང པ ས ད པའ ས བས ན ར གས པར བག zangpo chöpa i tob ni dzokpar gyi And perfect the power of Good Actions! ཆ ས ར མས ར མཚ རབ ཏ མཐ ང བ ད ཅ ང chö nam gyatso rabtu tongje ching Understand oceans of Dharma; ས ན ལམ ར མཚ ཡ ངས ས ར གས པར བ ད mönlam gyatso yongsu dzokpar je Fulfil oceans of aspirations; ཞ ང ར མས ར མཚ ར མ པར དག བ ད ཅ ང zhing nam gyatso nampar dakje ching I shall purify oceans of realms; ཡ ཤ ས ར མཚ རབ ཏ ར གས པར བ ད yeshe gyatso rabtu tokpar je Realize oceans of wisdom; སངས ར ས ར མཚ རབ ཏ མཆ ད བ ད ཅ ང sangye gyatso rabtu chöje ching Serve oceans of Buddhas! 44

45 བས ལ པ ར མཚ ར མ ས ས ད པར བག kalpa gyatso mikyo chepar gyi And perform these, without ever growing weary, through oceans of aeons! བཟང པ ས ད པས བ ང ཆ བ སངས ར ས ནས zangpo chöpe jangchub sangye ne Their prayers and aspirations for enlightened action: གང ག མ ང ན ཀ ན ཏ བཟང ཞ ས བ gang gi ming ni kuntuzang zheja Is called Samantabhadra: All-good : གང ཡང ད ས གས མ གཤ གས པའ ར ལ བ ཡ gangyang dü sum shekpa i gyalwa yi All the Buddhas throughout the whole of time, ད ཀ ན བདག ག ས མ ལ ས ར གས པར བག de kün dak gi malü dzokpar gyi May I fulfil them all completely! མཁས པ ད དང མཚ ངས པར ས ད པའ ཕ ར khepa de dang tshungpar chepa i chir So that I may act with a skill like his, བ ང ཆ བ ས ད པའ ས ན ལམ བ བ ག ར མས jangchub chöpa i mönlam jedrak nam Attained enlightenment through Good Actions, and ར ལ བ ཀ ན ག ས ས ཀ ཐ བ པ gyalwa kün gyi se kyi thuwopa The eldest of the sons of all the Buddhas དག བ འད དག ཐམས ཅད རབ ཏ བས gewa didak thamche rabtu ngo I dedicate fully all these merits! 45

46 ལ ས དང ངག དང ཡ ད ཀ ང ར མ དག ཅ ང lü dang ngak dang yi kyang namdak ching To purify my body, my speech and my mind as well, ད འད ར བདག ཀ ང ད དང མཚ ངས པར ཤ ག de drar dak kyang de dang tshungpar shok In his skill in good dedication! མ འ ངས བས ལ བ ཀ ན ཏ མ ས བར ma ong kalpa küntu mikyowar And without ever growing weary, in all the aeons to come, ས ད པ ར མ དག ཞ ང ར མས ཡ ངས དག པ chöpa namdak zhing nam yong dakpa To purify my actions, and all realms, ཀ ན ནས དག བ བཟང པ ས ད པའ ཕ ར künne gewa zangpo chepa i chir In order to perform the full virtue of Good Actions, ད ཡ བ བ མ ལ ས ར གས པར བག de yi jawa malü dzokpar gyi I shall perfectly fulfil every one of his aims! བས བ བཟང པ མཁས པ ཅ འད བ ngowa zangpo khepa chi drawa May I be the equal of Samantabhadra འཇམ དཔལ ག ན ས ན ལམ ས ད པར བག jampal gyi ni mönlam chepar gyi I shall act according to Mañjuśrī s prayers of aspiration, ས ད པ དག ན ཚད ཡ ད མ ག ར ཅ ག chöpa dak ni tshe yö ma gyur chik Let my bodhisattva acts be beyond measure! 46

47 ཡ ན ཏན ར མས ཀ ང ཚད གཟ ང མ ད པར ཤ ག yönten nam kyang tshe zung mepar shok Let my enlightened qualities be measureless too! ནམ མཁའ མཐར ཐ ག ག ར པ ཇ ཙམ པ Namkha i tharthuk gyurpa ji tsampar Sentient beings are as limitless བདག ག ས ན ལམ མཐའ ཡང ད ཙམ མ dak gi mönlam ta yang detsam mo Be as limitless as their karma and harmful emotions! ས ད པ ཚད མ ད པ ལ གནས ནས ཀ ང chöpa tshe me pa la ne ne kyang Keeping to this immeasurable activity, ས མས ཅན མ ལ ས མཐའ ཡང ད བཞ ན ཏ semchen malü tha yang dezhin te As the boundless expanse of space; གང ཡང ཕ གས བཅ འ ཞ ང ར མས མཐའ ཡས པ gangyang chok chü zhing nam thayepa Whoever hears this king of dedication prayers, ད དག འཕ ལ པ ཐམས ཅད འཚལ བར བག dedak trulpa thamche tshalwar gyi May I accomplish all the miraculous powers of enlightenment! ཇ ཙམ ལས དང ཉ ན མ ངས མཐར ག ར པ ji tsam le dang nyönmong thar gyurpa So shall my prayers of aspiration for them ར ན ཆ ན བར ན ཏ ར ལ བ ར མས ལ ཕ ལ rinchen gyen te gyalwa nam la phul And yearns for supreme enlightenment, 47

48 ལ དང མ ཡ བད བའ མཆ ག ར མས ཀ ང lha dang mi yi dewa i chok nam kyang Who even once arouses faith, བ ང ཆ བ མཆ ག ག ས ར ས ས རབ མ ས ཤ ང jangchub chok gi jesu rab mö shing Infinite pure realms in every directions, all ornamented with jewels, གང ག ས བཟང ས ད ས ན ལམ འད བཏབ པས gang gi zangchö mönlam di tabpe Whoever truly makes this Aspiration to Good Actions, ཞ ང ག ར ལ ས ད བས ལ པར ཕ ལ བ བས zhing gi dul nye kalpar phulwa we Will gain true merit greater still ལན ཅ ག ཙམ ཡང དད པ བས ད པ ན len chik tsam yang depa kyepa na Or offering them all the highest joys of gods and humans ད ས ན ངན ས ང ཐམས ཅད ས ང བར འག ར de ni ngensong thamche pangwar gyur Will be never again be born in lower realms; གང ག བས བའ ར ལ པ འད ཐ ས ནས gang gi ngowa i gyalpo di tö ne Than by offering the victorious Buddhas བས ད ནམས དམ པའ མཆ ག ཏ འད འག ར ར sönam dampa i chok tu di gyur ro For as many aeons as there are atoms in those realms. ད ས ན ག གས པ ངན པ ས ང བ ཡ ན de ni drokpo ngenpa pongwa yin They will be free from harmful companions, and 48

49 ས ང བ མཐའ ཡས ད ཡང ད ས མ ར མཐ ང nangwa thaye deyang de nyur thong Soon behold the Buddha of Boundless Light. ཀ ན ཏ བཟང པ ད ཡང ཅ འད བར kuntuzangpo deyang chi dra war And before long, གང ག ས མ ཤ ས དབང ག ས བ ས པ དག gang gi mishe wang gi jepa dak Whatever they have committed in the grip of ignorance, ད དག ར ད པ རབ ར ད བད བར འཚ dedak nyepa rab nye dewar tsho They will acquire all kind of benefits, and live in happiness; ད དག ར ང པ ར མ ཐ གས ད བཞ ན འག ར dedak ringpor mithok dezhin gyur They will become just like Samantabhadra. ད ཡ ས བཟང པ ས ད པ འད བར ད ན de yi zangpo chöpa di jö na Will soon be completely purified, མ ཚ འད ར ཡང ད དག ལ གས པར འ ང mitshe dir yang dedak lekpar ong Even in this present life all will go well, མཚམས མ ད ལ པ དག ག ས ག པ ར མས tshamme ngapo dak gi dikpa nam All negative acts even the five of immediate retribution མ ར ད མ ལ ས ཡ ངས ས བ ང བར འག ར nyurdu malü yongsu jangwar gyur If they recite this Aspiration to Good Actions. 49

50 ཡ ཤ ས དང ན གཟ གས དང མཚན ར མས དང yeshe dang ni zuk dang tshen nam dang They will possess perfect wisdom, beauty, and excellent signs, འཇ ག ར ན གས མ པ ཀ ན ནའང མཆ ད པར འག ར jikten sumpo kün nang chöpar gyur And all three worlds will honour them with offerings. བ ང ཆ བ སངས ར ས འཁ ར ལ རབ ཏ བས ར jangchub sangye khorlo rabtu kor Awaken into enlightenment, turn the wheel of Dharma, ར གས དང ཁ ད ག ར མས དང ལ ན པར འག ར rik dang khadok nam dang denpar gyur Be born in a good family, and with a radiant appearance. བ ང ཆ བ ཤ ང དབང ད ང ད ད མ ར འག jangchub shingwang drung du de nyur dro They will quickly go beneath the bodhi-tree, བད ད ར མས ས དང བཅས པ ཐམས ཅད བཏ ལ dü nam de dang chepa thamche tul And tame Māra with all his hordes. བད ད དང མ ས གས མང པ ས ད མ ཐ བ dü dang mutek mangpö de mithub Demons and heretics will never harm them, ས ང ནས ས མས ཅན ཕན ཕ ར ད ར འད ག ས song ne semchen phen chir der duk te And there, they will sit, to benefit all sentient beings, then གང ཡང བཟང པ ས ད པའ ས ན ལམ འད gangyang zangpo chöpa i mönlam di The full result of keeping, teaching, or reading 50

51 འཆང བ དང ན ས ན ཏམ ཀ ག ན ཡང changwa dang ni tön tam lok na yang This Prayer of Aspiration to Good Actions འཇམ དཔལ དཔའ བ ས ཇ ལ ར མཁ ན པ དང jampal pawö jitar khyenpa dang Just as the warrior Mañjuśrī attained omniscience, དག བ འད དག ཐམས ཅད རབ ཏ བས gewa didak thamche rabtu ngo To train and follow in their footsteps. ད ཡ ར མ པར ས ན པའང སངས ར ས མཁ ན de yi nampar min pa ang sangye khyen Is known to the Buddhas alone: ཀ ན ཏ བཟང པ ད ཡང ད བཞ ན ཏ kuntuzangpo deyang dezhin te And Samantabhadra too ད ས གས མ གཤ གས པའ ར ལ བ ཐམས ཅད ཀ ས dü sum shekpa i gyalwa thamche kyi As all the victorious Buddhas of past, present and future བ ང ཆ བ མཆ ག ལ ས མ ཉ ད མ བ ད ཅ ག jangchub chok la somnyi maje chik Have no doubt: supreme enlightenment will be yours! ད དག ཀ ན ག ར ས ས བདག ས བ ཕ ར dedak kün gyi jesu dak lob chir All these merits now I dedicate བས བ གང ལ མཆ ག ཏ བས གས པ ད ས ngowa gangla chok tu ngakpa de Praise dedication as supreme, 51

52 བདག ག དག བའ ར བ འད ཀ ན ཀ ང dak gi gewa i tsawa di kün kyang So now I dedicate all these roots of virtue ས བ པ ཐམས ཅད དག ན ཕ ར བསལ ཏ dribpa thamche dak ni chir sal te Let all that obscures me fade away, so ད ར ས ང ནས ན ས ན ལམ འད དག ཀ ང der song ne ni mönlam didak kyang In that pure land, may I actualize every single one བཟང པ ས ད ཕ ར རབ ཏ བས བར བག zangpo chö chir rabtu ngowar gyi For all beings to perfect Good Actions. མང ན ས མ ས ང བ མཐའ ཡས ད མཐ ང ནས ngönsum nangwa thaye de thong ne I look on Amitābha, there in person, ཐམས ཅད མ ལ ས མང ན ད འག ར བར ཤ ག thamche malü ngön du gyurwar shok Of all these aspirations! བདག ན འཆ བའ ད ས བ ད ག ར པ ན dak ni chiwa i dü je gyurpa na When it is time for me to die, བད བ ཅན ག ཞ ང ད ར རབ ཏ འག dewachen gyi zhing der rabtu dro And go at once to his pure land of Sukhāvatī. ད དག མ ལ ས བདག ག ས ཡ ངས ས བཀང dedak malü dak gi yongsu kang May I fulfil them, each and every one, 52

53 འཇ ག ར ན ཇ ས ད ས མས ཅན ཕན པར བག jikten jisi semchen phenpar gyi And bring help to beings for as long as the universe remains! ས ང བ མཐའ ཡས ར ལ བས མང ན ས མ ད nangwa thaye gyalwe ngönsum du May the Buddha Amitābha himself ས ལ པ མང པ བ བ ཕ ག བར ཡ ས trulpa mangpo jewa thrak gya yi With my billions of emanations, ར ལ བའ དཀ ལ འཁ ར བཟང ཞ ང དགའ བ ད ར gyalwa i kyilkhor zang zhing gawa der Born there in a beautiful lotus flower, ལ ང བས ན པ ཡང བདག ག ས ད ར ཐ བ ཤ ག lungtenpa yang dak gi der thob shok Grant me the prophecy foretelling my enlightenment! བ ཡ ས བས ཀ ས ཕ གས བཅ ར མས ས ཡང lo yi tob kyi chok chu nam su yang Sent out through the power of my mind, པད དམ པ ཤ ན ཏ མཛ ས ལས ས ས padmo dampa shintu dze le kye In that excellent and joyous Buddha realm, ད ར ན བདག ག ས ལ ང བས ན རབ ཐ བ ནས der ni dak gi lungten rab thob ne Having received the prophecy there, ས མས ཅན ར མས ལ ཕན པ མང པ བག semchen nam la phenpa mangpo gyi May I bring enormous benefit to sentient beings, in all the ten directions! 53

54 བཟང པ ས ད པའ ས ན ལམ བཏ ན པ ཡ zangpo chöpa i mönlam tanpa yi Through whatever small virtues I have gained ས ད ཅ ག གཅ ག ག ས ཐམས ཅད འབ ར པར ཤ ག kechik chik gi thamche jorwar shok All be instantly accomplished! འག བ ས ག བས ལ ཆ བ ར བ ང བ ར མས drowa dukngal chuwor jingwa nam May all those now drowning in the ocean of suffering, དག བ ཅ ང ཟད བདག ག ས ཅ བསགས པ gewa chungze dak gi chi sakpa By reciting this Aspiration to Good Actions, གང ཡང བཟང པ ས ད པ འད བས ས པས gangyang zangpo chöpa di ngöpe Through the true and boundless merit འ ད དཔག མ ད པའ གནས རབ ཐ བ པར ཤ ག öpakmepa i ne rab thobpar shok Reach the supreme realm of Amitābha! ད ས ན འག བའ ས ན ལམ དག བ ར མས de ni drowa i mönlam gewa nam May the virtuous wishes of all beings prayers and aspirations བས ད ནམས མཐའ ཡས དམ པ གང ཐ བ ད ས sönam thaye dampa gang thob de Attained by dedicating this Aspiration to Good Actions, ས ན ལམ ར ལ པ འད དག མཆ ག ག གཙ mönlam gyalpo didak chok gi tso May this King of Aspirations bring about 54

55 མཐའ ཡས འག བ ཀ ན ལ ཕན བ ད ཅ ང thaye drowa kün la phen je ching The supreme aim and benefit of all infinite sentient beings; འཕགས པ བཟང པ ས ད པའ ས ན ལམ ག ར ལ པ ར གས ས ཀ ན ཏ བཟང པ ས བར ན པའ གཞ ང ག བ ས kuntuzangpö gyenpa i zhung drub te May they perfect what is described in this holy prayer, uttered by Samantabhadra! This completes the King of Aspiration Prayers, Samantabhadra s Aspiration to Good Actions. ཐ བ དབང འཁ ར བཅས བཅས འ ད ཞ རང ལ ཐ མ thubwang khorche wozhu rang la thim འ ད གསལ ས ས པ བ ལ བའ ངང ལ བཞག Wosal tropa dral wai ngang la zhag ངན ས ང གནས ར མས མ ལ ས ས ང པར ཤ ག ngensong ne nam malü tongpar shok May the lower realms be entirely emptied! 56 སངས ར ས ར མ གཟ གས གཙ ག གཏ ར ཐམས ཅད ས བ sangye namzik tsuktor thamche kyob To the Buddhas: Vipaśyin, Śikhin, Viśvabhukra, སངས ར ས དཔའ བ བད ན ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ sangye pawo dün la chaktshal lo To the seven warrior-like Buddhas, we pay homage! མད ལས གས ངས པའ བས ན པ ར ས པའ བད ན ཚ ག བཞ གས ས Prayer for the Future of the Dharma From the words of the Buddha འཁ ར བ འཇ ག དང གས ར ཐ བ འ ད ས ངས དང khorwa jik dang serthub ösung dang Krakucchanda, Kanakamuni, and Kāśyapa, ས མས ཅན ད ན ད བདག ག ས ས ན semchen döndu dak gi ngön In the past, to benefit beings, ཤ ཀ ཐ བ པ ག ཏམ ལ ཡ ལ shakya thubpa gotam lha yi lha And Śākyamuni Gautama, deity of all deities, དཀའ བ གང ཞ ག ས ད ག ར དང kawa gangzhik che gyur dang I bore all kinds of hardship, and 56

57 བདག ག བད བ བཏང བ ཡ ས dak gi dewa tangwa yi Gave up my own happiness, through this རང ག འཚ བ ཡ ངས བཏང བས rang gi tshowa yong tang we I completely gave up my livelihood, བ དང བ མ ཆ ང མ དང bu dang bumo chungma dang By my giving up sons, daughters, and wives, བས ན པ ཡ ན ར ང འབར ག ར ཅ ག tenpa yün ring bar gyur chik Long may the teachings remain ablaze! ས མས ཅན ཕ ངས པ བས བས པའ ཕ ར semchen phongpa kyabpa i chir Therefore, to protect beings in distress, ན ར དང ག ང ཆ ན ཤ ང ར དང nor dang langchen shingta dang Riches and elephants and chariots, ངས ས ན ནད པའ ཆ ད དག ཏ nge ngon ne pa i che dak tu In the past, to help sick people, བས ན པ ཡ ན ར ང འབར ག ར ཅ ག tenpa yünring bar gyur chik May the teachings blaze, long into the future! ར ན ཆ ན བ ང ཆ བ ཕ ར བཏང བས rinchen jangchub chir tangwe For the sake of the treasure of enlightenment, 57

58 བས ན པ ཡ ན ར ང འབར ག ར ཅ ག tenpa yün ring bar gyur chik May the teachings blaze, long into the future! ད ང ས ང དག ལ མཆ ད བ ས པས drangsong dak la chö jepe And to the great sages, ས ག བས ལ ས ཚ གས མ ང ག ར ཅ ང dukngal natsok nyong gyur ching For many millions of aeons, བདག ག ས སངས ར ས རང སངས ར ས dak gi sangye rangsang gye Through the offerings I made to the Buddhas, pratyekabuddhas, བས ན པ ཡ ན ར ང འབར ག ར ཅ ག tenpa yün ring bar gyur chik May the teachings blaze, long into the future! བ ང ཆ བ ད ན ད ཐ ས བཙལ བས jangchub döndu thö tsalwe Seeking instruction for the sake of enlightenment, ཉན ཐ ས ཕ དང མ དང ན nyenthö pa dang ma dang ni Śrāvakas, male and female, བས ལ པ བ བ ད མར བདག kalpa jewa dumar dak Through the sufferings I endured བས ན པ ཡ ན ར ང འབར ག ར ཅ ག tenpa yün ring bar gyur chik May the teachings blaze, long into the future! 58

59 བདག ག ཚ ལ ཁ མས བར ལ ཞ གས དང dak gi tshulthrim tulzhuk dang Through my conduct of discipline, བས ན པ ཡ ན ར ང འབར ག ར ཅ ག tenpa yün ring bar gyur chik May the teachings blaze, long into the future! ས མས ཅན ངན བཟ ད བ ས ག ར པས semchen ngenzö je gyur pe And their negative emotions, and therefore, བཀའ ཐ བ ཡ ན ར ང བས ན བ ས ཤ ང kathub yün ring tenje shing And age-long asceticism, བཟ ད བར ལ ར ག ཏ བས ན བ ས ཤ ང zö tul taktu ten je shing By constantly practicing tolerance and discipline, བས ན པ ཡ ན ར ང འབར ག ར ཅ ག tenpa yünring bar gyur chik May the teachings blaze, long into the future! ཕ གས བཅ འ སངས ར ས ངས མཆ ད པས chok chü sangye nge chöpe And my offerings to the Buddhas of ten directions, ས མས ཅན ཉ ན མ ངས ས གས མ ཡ semchen nyonmong nyikma yi I endured evil deeds of beings of degenerated times, བདག ས ན བར ན འག ས དང ལ ན པས dak ngön tsöndrü dang denpé Through my diligence in the past, 59

60 ར ག ཏ བར ན ཅ ང ཕ ར ལ གན ན taktu ten ching parol nön Constantly stable, and overcoming others disruption; བསམ གཏན ར མ ཐར གཟ གས མ ད དང samten namtar zukme dang Through my concentration, complete liberation and formless absorption, བས ན པ ཡ ན ར ང འབར ག ར ཅ ག tenpa yün ring bar gyur chik May the teachings blaze, long into the future! ས མས ཅན ཐམས ཅད བས ལ ད ན ད semchen thamche dral döndu So as to liberate all beings, ཏ ང འཛ ན གང འ བ ས ད པ tingdzin ganga i je nyepa Samādhis as many as the grains of sand in the river Ganges ཡ ཤ ས ད ན ད བདག ག ས ས ན yeshe döndu dak gi ngön Through seeking wisdom in the past, བདག བས ན ཡ ན ར ང འབར ག ར ཅ ག dakten yünring bar gyur chik May my teachings blaze, long into the future! བས མ པ ད འ མཐ ས བདག ག ན gompa dé tü dak gi ni Through the power of my meditation, དཀའ ཐ བ ནགས དག བས ན བ ས ཤ ང kathub nak dak tenje shing By practising austerities in the forest, 60

61 བས ན བཅ ས ད མ ཉ ར བས ན པས tenchö duma nyer tenpe And teaching countless śāstras to others, འཚ བ ཡ ངས ས བཏང ག ར ཅ ང tshowa yongsu tang gyur ching Giving my life away entirely, and བདག ས ན ས ག པའ ས མས ཅན ར མས dak ngön dikpa i semchen nam In the past, with loving kindness, I caused བདག ག བས ན པ འབར ག ར ཅ ག dak gi tenpa bar gyur chik May my teachings remain ablaze! ཡན ལག ཉ ང ལག བཏང བ ཡ ས yenlak nying lak tangwa yi Giving arms and legs and every part of my body, བ མས པས གསལ བར ས ན བ ས ཤ ང jampe salwar minje shing Harmful sentient beings to mature completely, བར བའ ར ཡ ས ཤ ཁ ག དང tsewa i gyu yi sha thrak dang Through giving, out of love, my flesh and blood, ཆ ས ཚ ལ ར མ པར འཕ ལ ག ར ཅ ག chö tshul nampar phel gyur chik May the teachings blaze, long into the future! ཐ ག པ གས མ ལ རབ བཀ ད པས thekpa sum la rab köpe And I led them to the three vehicles; through this 61

62 ཆ ས ཀ མཆ ད ས ན ར ས ག ར ཅ ག chö kyi chöjin gye gyur chik May the teachings blaze, long into the future! ཡང དག ལ ལ བཀ ད བ ས པས yangdak ta la kö jepe And led them to the correct view; through this ཉ ན མ ངས མ ལས ཐར བ ས ཤ ང nyönmong me le tharje shing I released beings from the fire of the emotions, བདག ས ན ཐབས ཤ ས ག ར པ ན dak ngön thabshe gyurpa na In the past, with skilful means and wisdom, ཆ ས ན ར མ པར འཕ ལ ག ར ཅ ག chö ni nampar phel gyur chik May the Dharma increase in every way! བདག དག འཕ ལ ས ག ཕམ བ ས པས dak ge phel dik pham jepe And vanquished rampant negativity; through this ས མས ཅན ལ ངན ལས བས ལ ཞ ང semchen ta ngen le dral zhing I liberated sentient beings from perverse views, བདག ག ས མས ཅན བས དང ས བཞ ས dak gi semchen du ngö zhi With the four means of attracting disciples, བདག འཁ ར ཡ ན ར ང གནས ག ར ཅ ག dak khor yün ring ne gyur chik May my followers remain, long into the future! 62
