10 ཨ ཏ ལ ར ར པད དཀར ཀ ཤ ང དང ÜT PAL DOR JE PE KAR LU SHING DANG Utpala flower, vajra, white lotus, naga tree, ན ར བ ཟ བ རལ ག ཉ མ ཡ NOR BU DA WA RAL DI NYI MA YI Wish-fulfilling jewel, moon, sword, and sun, ཕ ག མཚན ལ གས བས མས བཀ ཤ ས དཔལ ག མཆ ག CHAK TSHEN LEK NAM TA SHI PAL GYI CHOK Holders of the excellent hand emblems of supreme noble good fortune, བ ང ཆ བ ས མས དཔའ བར ད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ JANG CHUP SEM PA GYE LA CHAK TSHAL LO I prostrate to the eight Bodhisattvas. ར ན ཆ ན གད གས མཆ ག བཀ ཤ ས གས ར ག ཉ RIN CHEN DUK CHOK TA SHI SER GYI NYA The supreme jeweled umbrella, the auspicious golden fish, འད ད འབ ང བ མ བཟང ཡ ད འ ང ཀ མ ལ DÖ JUNG BUM SANG YI WONG KA MA LA The wish-fulfilling vase, exquisite kamala flower, ས ན གགས ད ང དང ཕ ན ཚ གས དཔལ བ འ NYEN DAK DUNG DANG PHÜN TSHOK PAL BE WU The conch of fame and glory, the fully endowed endless knot, མ ན བ ར ལ མཚན དབང བས ར འཁ ར ལ ས MI NUP GYAL TSHEN WANG GYUR KHOR LO TE The eternal victory banner, the all-powerful wheel, ར ན ཆ ན ར གས མཆ ག བར ད ཀ ཕ ག མཚན ཅན RIN CHEN TAK CHOK GYE KYI CHAK TSHEN CHEN You who hold these eight supreme precious signs, 8

11 ཕ གས ད ས ར ལ བ མཆ ད ཅ ང དག ས བས ད མ CHOK DÜ GYAL WA CHÖ CHING GYE KYE MA Offered to the Conquerors of all directions and times, ས ག ས གས ང བ ད ན པས དཔལ ས ལ བའ GEK SOK NGO WO DEN PE PAL PEL WE Attractive maidens of pleasure, to recall your nature increases all that is noble, བཀ ཤ ས ལ མ བར ད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ TA SHI LHA MO GYE LA CHAK TSHAL LO I prostrate to the eight goddesses of good fortune. ཚངས པ ཆ ན པ བད འབ ང ས ད མ ད བ TSHANG PA CHEN PO DE JUNG SE ME BU Maha Brahma, Maheshvara, Vishnu, མ ག ས ང ལ ན དང ར ལ པ ཡ ལ འཁ ར ས ངས MIK TONG DEN DANG GYAL PO YUL KHOR SUNG Thousand-eyed Indra, and guardian king Dhritarastra, འཕགས ས ས པ དང ཀ དབང མ ག མ བཟང PHAK KYE PO DANG LU WANG MIK MI SANG Virudhaka, Virupaksa and ར མ ཐ ས ས ས དང ལ ར ས འཁ ར ལ དང NAM THÖ SE DANG LA DZE KHOR LO DANG Vaishravana, the holders of celestial articles, ཏ ཤ ལ ལ དང མད ང ཐ ང ར ར ཅན TI SHUL LA DANG DUNG THUNG DOR JE CHEN Wheel, trident, short spear, vajra, པ ཝང རལ ག མཆ ད ར ན ར ལ མཚན འཛ ན PI WAM RAL DI CHÖ TEN GYAL TSHEN DZIN Vina, sword, stupa and victory banner. 9

12 ས གས མ གནས ས དག ལ གས བཀ ཤ ས ས ལ SA SUM NE SU GE LEK TA SHI PEL You, who make auspiciousness and positivity grow in the three realms, འཇ ག ར ན ས ང བ བར ད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ JIK TEN KYONG WA GYE LA CHAK TSHAL LO I prostrate to the eight guardians of the world. བདག ཅག ད ང འད ར བ བ ར མ པ ལ DAK CHAK DENG DIR JA WA TSOM PA LA Through the activity that myself and others are about to begin, བག གས དང ཉ བར འཚ བ ཀ ན ཞ ནས GEK DANG NYE WAR TSHE WA KÜN SHI NE By pacifying all obstructions and harms, འད ད ད ན དཔལ འཕ ལ བསམ ད ན ཡ ད བཞ ན འག བ DÖ DÖN PAL PHEL SAM DÖN YI SHIN DUP May the glory and endowments increase and all the wishes be accomplished! བཀ ཤ ས བད ལ གས ཕ ན ས མ ཚ གས པར ཤ ག TA SHI DE LEK PHÜN SUM TSHOK PAR SHOK May good fortune, happiness and prosperity be fully endowed! ལ ང ཚ བར ད ན ད ཉ ད ད ན ཀ ན འག བ ཉལ ཚ བར ད ན ར ལམ བཟང པ ར མཐ ང གཡ ལ ད འཇ ག ཚ བར ད ན ཕ གས ལས ར ལ བ བ བར མས ད ས བར ད ན འད ད ད ན འཕ ལ ར ན ད བར ད ན ཚ དཔལ གགས འབ ར ཤ ས བད ལ གས ཕ ན ཚ གས བསམ ད ན ཡ ད བཞ ན འག བ ས ག ས བ ཀ ན བ ང མང ན མཐ ང ས ལ གས ཀ ད ན ཀ ན འག བ པ ར ལ བ མཆ ག ག ས གས ངས རབ ཚ ས མ ས ལ ལ ར ར ས ར ར ལ ག ད ས བཟང པ འ ཆ ལ འཇམ དཔལ དག ས པའ ར ར འ ཡ ད མཚ ལས བ ང བའ ད ཤལ ཆ ན པ མང ལ If this prayer is recited upon awakening, all that is meaningful will be accomplished. If recited before sleep, excellent dreams will be observed. If recited prior to going to another country or place, there will be victory in all directions. If recited before beginning an activity, the desired purpose will increase. If recited regularly, one s life expectancy, reputation, and endowments will increase. Happiness and prosperity will be fully-endowed and one s purpose wish-fulfilling accomplished. All negativities and obscurations will be cleansed resulting in higher rebirth and ultimate liberation. All these accomplishments are the supreme words of the conquerors. Thus, in the Year of the Fire Monkey, during the third month under the excellent alignment of the constellations, I, Jampal Gyepé Dorjé (Mipham Rinpoche), found this great wish-fulfilling crystal in the lake of my mind. May all be auspicious! 10

13 ས བས འག ས མས བས ད ན Refuge and Bodhicitta སངས ར ས ཆ ས དང ཚ གས ཀ མཆ ག ར མས ལ SANG GYE CHÖ DANG TSHOK KYI CHOK NAM LA To the Buddha, the Dharma and the most supreme of assemblies, བ ང ཆ བ བར ད བདག ན ས བས ས མཆ JANG CHUP BAR DU DAK NI KYAP SU CHI Until my enlightenment, I seek your refuge! བདག ག ས ས ན ས གས བག ས པའ བས ད ནམས ཀ ས DAK GI JIN SOK GYI PE SÖ NAM KYI By the merits of my generosity and so forth, འག ལ ཕན ཕ ར སངས ར ས འག བ པར ཤ ག DO LA PHEN CHIR SANG GYE DUP PAR SHOK May I attain the state of Buddhahood to benefit all sentient beings! ལན གས མ (Repeat three times) 11

14 ཚད མ ད བཞ ན Four Immeasurables ས མས ཅན ཐམས ཅད བད བ དང བད བའ ར དང ལ ན པར ག ར ཅ ག SEM CHEN THAM CHE DE WA DANG DE WE GYU DANG DEN PAR GYUR CHIK May all sentient beings be endowed with happiness and the causes of happiness! ས ག བས ལ དང ས ག བས ལ ག ར དང བ ལ བར ག ར ཅ ག DUK NGAL DANG DUK NGAL GYI GYU DANG DAL WAR GYUR CHIK May they be liberated from suffering and the causes of suffering! ས ག བས ལ མ ད པའ བད བ དམ པ དང མ འབ ལ བར ག ར ཅ ག DUK NGAL ME PE DE WA DAM PA DANG MI DAL WAR GYUR CHIK May they never be separated from the supreme bliss which is free from affliction! ཉ ར ང ཆགས ས ང གཉ ས དང བ ལ བའ བཏང ས མས ཆ ན པ འ ངང ལ ས མས རབ ཏ ཚད མ ད པ ལ གནས པར ག ར ཅ ག NYE RING CHAK DANG NYI DANG DAL WE TANG NYOM CHEN PÖ NGANG LA SEM RAP TU TSHE ME PA LA NE PAR GYUR CHIK May all of them abide in a state of fathomless mind of great equanimity, Free from passion for friends and hatred towards enemies! ལན གས མ (Repeat three times) 12

16 ཐ བ པ ར གས པའ སངས ར ས ཤ ཀ ཐ བ པ ལ བས ད པ བཞ གས ས Praises to the Buddha Sakyamuni ཐབས མཁས ཐ གས ར ཤ ཀ འ ར གས ས འཁ ངས THAP KHE THUK JE SHAK YE RIK SU THUNG Being skilled in method and compassion, you took birth among the Shakya clan, གཞན ག མ ཐ བ བད ད ཀ དཔ ང འཇ མས པ SHEN GYI MI THUP DÜ KYI PUNG JOM PA Being undefeatable you subdued the forces of the evil, གས ར ག ལ ན པ ལ བ ར བར ད པའ ས SER GYI LHÜN PO TA BUR JI PE KU Your exalted body is as magnificent as a golden mountain. ཤ ཀ འ ར ལ པ ཁ ད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ SHAK YE GYAL PO KHYÖ LA CHAK TSHAL LO To you, the King of the Shakyas, I prostrate! གང ག ས དང པ ར བ ང ཆ བ ཐ གས བས ད ནས GANG GI DANG POR JANG CHUP THUK KYE NE You initially generated the enlightened mind, བས ད ནམས ཡ ཤ ས ཚ གས གཉ ས བར གས མཛད ཅ ང SÖ NAM YE SHE TSHOK NYI DZOK DZE CHING And perfected the two forms of accumulation, ད ས འད ར མཛད པ ར ཆ ན འག བ ཡ DÜ DIR DZE PA GYA CHEN DO WA YI Performing vast noble activities at this time མག ན ག ར ཁ ད ལ བདག ག ས བས ད པར བག GÖN GYUR KHYÖ LA DAK GI TÖ PAR GYI You became the protector of sentient beings. To you I offer praise! ལ ར མས ད ན མཛད འད ལ བའ ད ས མཁ ན ནས LHA NAM DÖN DZE DUL WE DÜ KHYEN NE While fulfilling the purposes of the gods, seeing that the time was ripe for taming, 14

17 ལ ལས བབས ནས ག ང ཆ ན ལ ར གཤ གས ཤ ང LHA LE BAP NE LANG CHEN TAR SHEK SHING You descended from the God s realm in the form of an Elephant! ར གས ལ གཟ གས ནས ལ མ ས འཕ ལ མའ RIK LA SIK NE LHA MO GYU THUL ME Foreseeing the right family caste, you were conceived ལ མས ས བཞ གས པར མཛད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ LHUM SU SHUK PAR DZE LA CHAK TSHAL LO In the womb of Mayadevi. To you I prostrate! ཟ བ བཅ ར གས ཤ ཀ འ ས ས པ ན DA WA CHU DZOK SHAK YE SE PO NI You, the Son of Shakya, having completed ten months (in the mother s womb), བཀ ཤ ས ལ མ འ ཚལ ད ལ མས པའ ཚ TA SHI LUM BI TSHAL DU TAM PE TSHE You took birth in the auspicious Lumbini Grove, in which time, ཚངས དང བར བ ན ག ས བཏ ད མཚན མཆ ག ན TSHANG DANG GYA JIN GYI TÜ TSHEN CHOK NI Brahma and Indra bowed respectfully to confer to you the Supreme Name. བ ང ཆ བ ར གས ས ང ས མཛད ཕ ག འཚལ ལ JANG CHUP RIK SU NGE DZE CHAK TSHAL LO You were ascertained to be from the Enlightened Family. To you I prostrate! གཞ ན ན ས བས ལ ན མ ཡ ས ང ག ད ས SHÖN NU TOP DEN MI YI SENG GE DE You, the youthful hero, a lion amongst humans, ཨ ག མ ག ད ར ན ས ར ལ བས ན AH GHA MA GA DHAR NI GYU TSAL TEN Displayed the miraculous skills in arts at Agha and Magadha, ས བ ད གས པ ཅན ར མས ཚར བཅད ནས KYE WO DEK PA CHEN NAM TSHAR CHE NE Triumphed over the arrogant ones, 15

18 འགན ཟ མ ད པར མཛད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ DEN DA ME PAR DZE LA CHAK TSHAL LO And became the unrivaled hero, to you I prostrate! འཇ ག ར ན ཆ ས དང མཐ ན པར བ བ དང JIK TEN CHÖ DANG THÜN PAR JA WA DANG You performed deeds consistent with worldly principles, ཁ ན མ ཐ སང ཕ ར བཙ ན མ ཡ KHA NA MA THO PANG CHIR TSÜN MO YI And refrained from negative actions, འཁ ར དང ལ ན མཛད ཐབས ལ མཁས པ ཡ ས KHOR DANG DEN DZE THAP LA KHE PA YI Had a retinue of queens and with skillful means ར ལ ས ད ས ང བར མཛད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ GYAL SI KYONG WAR DZE LA CHAK TSHAL LO You governed the country. To you, I prostrate! འཁ ར བའ བ བར ས ང པ མ ད གཟ གས ནས KHOR WE JA WAR NYING PO ME SIK NE Seeing the lack of purpose in the samsaric activities, ཁ མ ནས བ ང ས མཁའ ལ གཤ གས ནས ཀ ང KHYIM NE JUNG TE KHA LA SHEK NE KYANG You renounced your kingly home faring through space, མཆ ད ར ན ར མ དག ད ང ད ཉ ད ལས ཉ ད CHÖ TEN NAM DAK DUNG DU NYI LE NYI Yet before the Stupa Vishuddha, you ordained yourself རབ ཏ བ ང བར མཛད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ RAP TU JUNG WAR DZE LA CHAK TSHAL LO And became a renouncer. To you, I prostrate! བར ན པས བ ང ཆ བ ས བ པར དག ངས ནས ན TSÖN PE JANG CHUP DUP PAR GONG NE NI Yearning to accomplish Buddhahood, with diligence, 16

19 ན རཉ ནའ འགམ ད ལ ད ག ཏ NE REN DZA NE DAM DU LO DUK TU By the banks of the river Neranjana, for six years, དཀའ བ ས ད མཛད བར ན འག ས མཐར ཕ ན པས KA WA CHE DZE TSÖN DÜ THAR CHIN PE You practiced austerity and by perfecting your diligence བསམ གཏན མཆ ག བར ས མཛད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ SAM TEN CHOK NYE DZE LA CHAK TSHAL LO You achieved the supreme samadhi. To you I prostrate! ཐ ག མ མ ད ནས འབད པ ད ན ཡ ད ཕ ར THOK MA ME NE BE PA DÖN YÖ CHIR In order to make your endeavor fruitful from beginningless time, མ ག ད ཡ བ ང ཆ བ ཤ ང ད ང ད MA GA DHA YI JANG CHUP SHING DUNG DU Under the Bodhi tree in Magadha, ས ལ ཀ ང མ གཡ མང ན པར སངས ར ས ནས KYIL TUNG MI YO NGÖN PAR SANG GYE NE Without moving from the cross-legged posture you actualized Buddhahood. བ ང ཆ བ ར གས པར མཛད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ JANG CHUP DZOK PAR DZE LA CHAK TSHAL LO To you, who displayed Perfect Enlightenment, I prostrate! ཐ གས ར ས འག ལ མ ར ད གཟ གས ནས ན THUK JE DO LA NYUR DU SIK NE NI Immediately after that, looking upon beings with compassion ཝ ར ཎ ས ལ ས གས གནས མཆ ག ཏ WA RA NA SI LA SOK NE CHOK TU At Varanasi and other holy places ཆ ས ཀ འཁ ར ལ བས ར ནས གད ལ བ ར མས CHÖ KYI KHOR LO KOR NE DUL JA NAM You turned the Wheel of Dharma, securing 17

20 ཐ ག པ གས མ ལ འག ད མཛད ཕ ག འཚལ ལ THEK PA SUM LA GÖ DZE CHAK TSHAL LO All beings to be tamed on the three Vehicles. To you, I prostrate! གཞན ག ར ལ བ ངན པ ཚར བཅད ཕ ར SHEN GYI GOL WA NGEN PA TSHAR CHE CHIR In order to thrash the evil opponents, མ ས གས བས ན པ ད ག དང ལ ས བ ན ས གས MU TEK TÖN PA DUK DANG LHE JIN SOK The six heretic teachers, Devadatta, and so forth, འཁ ར མ འཇ ག ག ཡ ལ ད བད ད ར མས བཏ ལ KHOR MO JIK GI YUL DU DÜ NAM TUL In the country of Khormojik, you subdued all demons. ཐ བ པ གཡ ལ ལས ར ལ ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ THUP PA YUL LE GYAL LA CHAK TSHAL LO Muni, Victor in battle, to you, I prostrate! ས ད པ གས མ ན དཔ མ ད ཡ ན ཏན ག SI PA SUM NA PE ME YÖN TEN GYI Of your qualities there is no parallel available in the three realms. མཉན ད ཡ ད པར ཆ འཕ ལ ཆ ན པ བས ན NYEN DU YÖ PAR CHO THUL CHEN PO TEN At Shravasti you displayed great miracles and expounded the teachings, ལ མ འག བ ཀ ན ག ས རབ མཆ ད པ LHA MI DO WA KÜN GYI RAP CHÖ PA Which are extremely revered by all gods and beings. བས ན པ ར ས པར མཛད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ TEN PA GYE PAR DZE LA CHAK TSHAL LO To you, who have spread the Dharma, I prostrate! ལ ལ ཅན ར མས ཆ ས ལ བས ལ བ འ ཕ ར LE LO CHEN NAM CHÖ LA KUL JE CHIR In order to induce the slothful ones to Dharma 18

21 ར མཆ ག ག ང ག ས གཞ གཙང མ ར TSA CHOK DONG GI SA SHI TSANG MA RU In the pristine place of Kushinagar, འཆ མ ད ར ར ལ བ འ ས གཤ གས ནས CHI ME DOR JE TA BÜ KU SHEK NE You attained the immortal vajra-like form. མ ངན འདའ བར མཛད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ NYA NGEN DA WAR DZE LA CHAK TSHAL LO To you, who have actualized Parinirvana, I prostrate! ཡང དག ཉ ད ད འཇ ག པ མ ད ཕ ར དང YANG DAK NYI DU JIK PA ME CHIR DANG To ensure there is no cessation of the ultimate purity, མ འ ངས ས མས ཅན བས ད ནམས ཐ བ བ འ ཕ ར MA WONG SEM CHEN SÖ NAM THOP JE CHIR And to accumulating merits for beings of the future, ད ཉ ད ད ན ར ང བས ལ མང ལལ ནས DE NYI DU NI RING SEL MANG TUL NE In that place itself, you emanated many relics, ས གད ང ཆ བར ད མཛད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ KU DUNG CHA GYE DZE LA CHAK TSHAL LO Which were used to make the eight stupas. To you, I prostrate! གང ཚ ར ང གཉ ས གཙ བ ཁ ད ལ མས ཚ ཐ བ བས ད ཆ ང བ ན The Short Praise of the Buddha s Deeds GANG TSHE KANG NYI TSO WO KHYÖ TAM TSHE At the time when you, the chief among humans beings, were born, ས ཆ ན འད ལ ག མ པ བད ན བ ར ནས SA CHEN DI LA GOM PA DÜN BOR NE You took seven steps on this vast earth. 19

22 ང ན འཇ ག ར ན འད ན མཆ ག ཅ ས གས ངས NGA NI JIK TEN DI NA CHOK CHE SUNG I am the Supreme One!, you said. ད ཚ མཁས པ ཁ ད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ DE TSHE KHAM PA KHYÖ LA CHAK TSHAL LO To you, wise even at that time, I prostrate! དང པ དགའ ལ ན ལ ཡ ཡ ལ ནས བ ན DANG PO GA DEN LHA YI YUL NE JÖN Firstly you descended from Tushita Heaven. ར ལ པ འ ཁབ ཏ ཡ མ ག ལ མས ས ཞ གས GYAL PÖ KHAP TU YUM GYI LHUM SU SHUK In Rajgiri you entered the womb of your mother. ལ མ ན ཡ ཚལ ད ཐ བ པ བལ མས LUM BI NI YI TSHAL DU THUP PA TAM In the Lumbini Grove you, the Muni, were born. བཅ མ ལ ན ལ ཡ ལ ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ CHOM DEN LHA YI LHA LA CHAK TSHAL LO Great Conqueror, God of gods, to you I prostrate! གཞལ ཡས ཁང ད མ མ བར ད བཞ ས མཆ ད SHAL YE KHANG DU MA MA GYE SHI CHÖ Nurtured by the eight nurses in the palace, ཤ ཀ འ ག ང ད གཞ ན ན ས ར ལ ར ད མཛད SHAK YE DONG DU SHÖN NÜ ROL TSE DZE You played youthful sports in the land of Shakyas. ས ར ས འ གནས ས ས འཚ ཁབ ཏ བཞ ས SER KYE NE SU SA TSHO KHAP TU SHE Wedded to Satshoma from the Serkya s land, possessing an incomparable body ས ད གས མ མཚ ངས མ ད ས ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ SI SUM TSHUNG ME KU LA CHAK TSHAL LO Within the three realms of existence, to you, I prostrate! 20

23 ག ང ཁ ར ས བཞ ར ས བའ ཚ ལ བས ན ནས DONG KHYER GO SHIR KYO WE TSHUL TEN NE Expressing disgust at the gates of the four cities, མཆ ད ར ན ར མ དག ད ང ད དབ ས བས ལ CHÖ TEN NAM DAK DUNG DU U TA SIL You shaved your head before the Vishuddha Stupa. ན རཉ ནའ འགམ ད དཀའ ཐ བ མཛད NE REN DZA NE DAM DU KA THUP DZE At the banks of Neranjana river you practiced austerities. ས བ གཉ ས ས ན དང བ ལ ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ DIP NYI KYÖN DANG DAL LA CHAK TSHAL LO Freed from the faults of the two obscurations, to you, I prostrate! ར ལ པ འ ཁབ ཏ ག ང ཆ ན ས ན པ བཏ ལ GYAL PÖ KHAP TU LANG CHEN NYÖN PA TUL You tamed the big mad Elephant in Rajgiri. ཡངས པ ཅན ད ས འ ས ས ང ར ཕ ལ YANG PA CHEN DU TE WÜ DANG TSI PHUL The monkeys offered you honey at (Vaisali) Sarvasati. མ ག ད ར ཐ བ པ མང ན སངས ར ས MA GA DHA RU THUP PA NGÖN SANG GYE You achieved enlightenment at Magadha. མཁ ན པའ ཡ ཤ ས འབར ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ KHYEN PE YE SHE BAR LA CHAK TSHAL LO To you, ablaze with primordial wisdom, I prostrate! ཝ ར ཎ ས ར ཆ ས ཀ འཁ ར ལ བས ར WA RA NA SIR CHÖ KYI KHOR LO KOR You turned the Wheel of Dharma in Varanasi. ཛ ཏའ ཚལ ད ཆ འཕ ལ ཆ ན པ བས ན DZE TE TSHAL DU CHO THUL CHEN PO TEN Displayed the great miracles in the groves of Jeta. 21

24 ར མཆ ག ག ང ད དག ངས པ མ ངན འདས TSA CHOK DONG DU GONG PA NYA NGEN DE Attained Parinirvana at Kushinagar, ཐ གས ན ནམ མཁའ འད ལ ཕ ག འཚལ ལ THUK NI NAM KHA DA LA CHAK TSHAL LO To you, whose mind is like that of space, I prostrate! འད ལ ར བས ན པའ བདག པ བཅ མ ལ ན འདས DI TAR TEN PE DAK PO CHOM DEN DE In this manner, to the Lord of Dharma, མཛད པའ ཚ ལ ལ མད ཙམ བས ད པ ཡ DZE PE TSHUL LA DO TSAM TÖ PA YI I have offered brief praises for displaying his enlightened activities. དག བས འག བ ཀ ན ག ས ད པ ཡང GE WE DO WA KÜN GYI CHÖ PA YANG May by these virtues, all the activities of sentient beings བད གཤ གས ཉ ད ཀ མཛད དང མཚ ངས པར ཤ ག DE SHEK NYI KYI DZE DANG TSHUNG PAR SHOK Become like those of the Sugatas! ཅ ས བདག ཅག ག ས ན པའ མཛད པ ལ བས ད པ ཆ བ འད ཉ ད འབ ག ང ས བས པས མཛད པར གགས ལ ཆ ང བ འད ས བ དཔ ན དཔའ བ ས མཛད ད ཞ ས ཁ ཅ ག ལས འབ ང ང The Longer Praise to our Teacher is known to be composed by Kyopa Rinpoche of the Drikung tradition of the Kagyü School, while some sources say that the Shorter Praise was composed by Lopen Pawo. 22

48 བས བ ས ན ལམ ན Prayers of Dedication and Aspiration འཇམ དཔལ དཔའ བ ས ཇ ལ ར མཁ ན པ དང JAM PAL PAWÖ JI TAR KHYEN PA DANG Just as the bodhisattva Manjushri knew, ཀ ན ཏ བཟང པ ད ཡང ད བཞ ན ཏ KÜN TU ZANG PO DE YANG DE SHYIN TE And Samantabhadra too, ད དག ཀ ན ག ར ས ས བདག ས བ ཅ ང DE DAG KÜN GYI JÈ SU DAG LOB CHING I shall make a perfect dedication of these merits དག བ ད དག ཐམས ཅད རབ ཏ བས GE WA DE DAG TAM CHE RAB TU NGO And train to follow in their footsteps. ད ས གས མ གཤ གས པའ བར ལ བ ཐམས ཅད ཀ ས DÜ SUM SHEG PAY GYAL WA TAM CHE KYI As all buddhas, of the past, present and future, བས བ གང ལ མཆ ག ཏ བས གས པ ས NGO WO GANG LA CHHOG TU NGAG PA TE Praise the act of dedicating merit as supreme, བདག ག དག བའ ར བ འད ཀ ན ཀ ང DAG GI GE WAY TSA WA DI KÜN KYANG All my roots of merit I dedicate fully, བཟང པ ས ད ཕ ར རབ ཏ བས བར བག ZANG PO CHÖ CHHIR RAB TU NGO WAR GYI So that all may perfect Samantabhadra s Good Actions. 46

49 བ ང ཆ བ ས མས མཆ ག ར ན པ ཆ JYANG CHHUB SEM CHHOG RIN PO CHHE May the precious Mind of Enlightenment arise, མ ས ས པ ར མས ས ས ག ར ཅ ག MA KYÈ PA NAM KYÈ GYUR CHIG Where it has yet to have arisen; ས ས པ ཉམས པར མ ད པ ཡང KYÈ PA NYAM PAR MÈ PA YANG And where it has arisen, may it not decrease, ག ང ནས ག ང ད འཕ ལ བར ཤ ག GONG NAY GONG DU PHEL WAR SHOG But increase further and further! 47

50 བ ད ལ ངས ར ལ ཁབ ཆ ན པ འ ར ལ ག བཞ གས Tibetan National Anthem ས ད ཞ ཕན བད འ འད ད ར འབ ང བའ གཏ ར SI SHI PHEN DE DOE GU JUNG WE TER The source of temporal and spiritual wealth of joy and boundless benefits ཐ བ བས ན བསམ འཕ ལ ན ར བ འ འ ད ས ང འབར THUB TEN SA PHEL NOR BUI WOE NHANG BAR The wish-fulfilling jewel of the Buddha s teaching, blazes forth radiant light བས ན འག འ ན ར འཛ ན ར ཆ ར ས ང བའ མག ན TEN DOE NOR ZIN GYA CHER KYONG WE GON The all-protecting patron of the Doctrine and of sentient beings འཕ ན ལས ཀ ར ལ མཚ ར ས TIN LEY KYI ROL TSO GYE By his actions stretches forth his influence like an ocean ར ར འ ཁམས ས བར ན པས DOR JEI KHAM SU TEN PEY By his eternal Vajra nature ཕ གས ཀ ན བ མས བར ས ས ངས CHOG KUN JAM TSEI KYONG His compassion and loving care extend to beings everywhere གནམ བས ས དགའ བ བར ལ ན དབ འཕང དག ང ལ ར ག NAM KOE GA WA GYA DEN WU PHANG GUNG LA REG May the celestially appointed government of Gawa Gyaden achieve the heights of glory 48
