Terrie sent out what I wanted to do about explaining the mental clutter first. What we know is that the mental clutter and the physical clutter are almost synonymous. If we have physical clutter, we re going to have mental clutter. I we re going to have mental clutter, we re going to have physical clutter. The little article that I sent out was to get you started on taking care of the physical clutter. The first couple of paragraphs explain how that interfered with what went on in your mind. I hope that all of you have really looked at that and decided to clear out your house, your garage, all your dresser drawers and especially that drawer in the kitchen that holds all the little knobs, buttons, and pieces of string that you don t know what to do with or where they came from and you re afraid to throw them away. I know I m not the only one that has that. Tonight I m going right into the next part of it on the subconscious mind. If anybody wants more on the physical clutter and the tips and ideas on that, we will give that later. There are several books out on de-cluttering your life. I thought you might rather take your time and read one of those rather than sitting in on a blog when we can do more effective understandings about our spiritual life. If you want it, then send us an and say, Yes, I do. We can set it up for a different time, probably within the next two or three months because we re fairly well scheduled now through April and May. I m going to put it in presentation mode now. This is Clutter s Last Stand. As we all know, the cluttering of the mind is what interferes with our having demonstrations. I want to start off by saying that I have had ministers come up to me and say, We re not here to have demonstrations. We are here to be spiritual. Let me interrupt please, because I messed up the handout. We re actually now on B in the handout. B is How Your Subconscious Mind Interferes with Success. Your subconscious mind is your workshop. It s where everything is stored. Clutter s Last Stand Getting Unstuck, LLC Page 2 of 20
Everything that you ve ever heard, read, thought, felt, and all of the words that were ever said to you. If you were told when you were little that you were tough, rough, and hurt people, then that would go through and have an effect on you continually unless you recognize what you re feeling and what s happening in your life and get rid of it. It continues otherwise. We get rid of it by, first of all, becoming aware of it. This is why we have so many denials and affirmations. There are a couple of schools of thought that say you don t do denials because the subconscious doesn t accept no. That s not true. That came up in the 1950s. Some psychologists started saying that your subconscious didn t accept no. Your subconscious accepts anything that s put in it. If you re told as a child that you can t do something, can t is a no. if you re told, Don t do these things, that s a no. It is accepted by everything. My big point is in the Bible if no wasn t a good word, there would not have been a thou shall not in all of the Ten Commandments. That sort of diffuses this idea that your subconscious is selective in what it takes. It s just like a tape recorder or a computer. It takes what you put into it or what somebody else puts into it. Tonight we re working on the subconscious mind, the conscious mind, the super conscious mind, and also getting into the spiritual laws that are one of my favorite things to teach. Now I m back again to B and understanding of how that affects you. First of all, the subconscious mind is what we react from. We have thoughts, feelings, and experiences in the subconscious. If something similar comes up, we will have the same reaction that we had many, many years ago when we first discovered that this whole world wasn t all peace and light like we thought it was going to be. There were times we had to use our own discipline or be disciplined. There were things that we could do that would sometimes harm people or Clutter s Last Stand Getting Unstuck, LLC Page 3 of 20
hurt feelings. We learn that repetition sets this in motion as a permanent idea that we hold. I ll explain it in a way that helps me to understand it. If you had a big barrel that you dropped a stone in that sank to the bottom. Every two or three weeks, somebody made a comment that went to this stone and made a shell around it so that every time you heard these words, it got bigger and bigger and more important in your life. This is what s happening when we hear words that hurt us or that are ineffective in whatever it is that we are planning to do that come from our childhood. We still have those lumps inside us as a feeling, fear, anxiety, frustration, or hurt unless we have gotten rid of those. If we ever react to something, there s still something that needs to be gotten rid of. I call it the garbage dump because that s where all of the stuff went that is gives us negative situations. It also gives us positive situations if we have that. This is what makes the law of cause and effect work. Within us are things like ideas and feelings that are stronger one way or another. We want to keep the good ones. Use those as the attraction and eliminate the ones that cause us problems. I m going to call them blobs. Your blobs inside of you trigger fears. If you were told as a child, Don t go out late at night because something will get you and you ll be afraid, that s a fear that you have. You begin to see things under your bed and in your closet. It s the fear triggerer. From your subconscious come negative expectations from your past beliefs. This separates you from your success. Fears and negative beliefs get in the way of your success. It limits you in all of the ways that you want to get rid of and eliminate. We are in the process of realigning and giving to ourselves, washing it clean like a slate board or chalkboard, and then refilling ourselves with only the positive, utilizing the positive that we already have in there, and just building on those positives. Reaction creates a much longer distance and a slower space for you to reach your goals. Clutter s Last Stand Getting Unstuck, LLC Page 4 of 20
I learned a good technique yesterday to use if you have problems with certain words or triggers. In this case, it was people who don t like to make marketing calls. They said that most of your fear of rejection comes from your childhood. Before you pick up the phone, you should look to your right and say, Hi Mom, and look to your left and say, Hi Dad. Then you can look around and see whoever else has influenced your life and say, Get out of here. I have a call to make. As I thought about it, I realized that really does take a lot of the anxiety off because we re out to try and please people. In my case, there s a lot of the negative past there. Once I got rid of them, then it would be more of a positive experience. I think this is how we have our learning experiences. The recognition of little incidents like this shows us that our inner selves are sometimes being interfered with by the things that happened when we were younger. Under C, How Your Conscious Mind Interferes with Happiness, is an interesting thing. I ve said this in classes before. People say, Wait a minute. How can your conscious mind, your decision making ability, the one that thinks, brings to the point, evaluates, and expresses the ideas and thoughts that you want to put into effect, interfere? If you had some negative reactions, then your conscious mind would ask you, Do I really want this thing that I m going after? Do I really want to do the hard work that is going to be there? If we believe in hard work when we want something big, then we re going to have a feeling or idea that maybe we d better change our mind and want something smaller. It can cause you to change from your goals. It can cause you to realign yourself to go for different goals. It can cause you to withdraw your talents if you have talents that cause you to practice or train a lot. For example, people who train for sports activities and they re training six, seven, or eight hours a day and all of a sudden they say, I don t want to do this anymore. I ll change my goal. That s the conscious mind thinking. Clutter s Last Stand Getting Unstuck, LLC Page 5 of 20
It s the possible reevaluation of your definition of happiness. What we think we want to make us happy is not always what we want. We don t always see what it involves. That s where your conscious mind can interfere. Also, if we have incidents that have happened in our lives, we have a tendency to make mountains out of mole hills. One of the things that we teach is So what? I give a lesson about once a year on So what, big deal. It doesn t matter what things are happening if it upsets us to a point that we will change from our goal setting, from our ideas, from knowing and understanding our happiness that we want to the interferences that the conscious and subconscious mind can bring about. Anne, how do you know when your reevaluation of your definitions of happiness is a mature thing as opposed to a reaction from whatever s going on in your past? That s when we start asking before we start asking. Does that make sense? No. If we have decisions, we have ideas or thoughts or feelings where we sort of sense that change is coming and we are just not sure how to ask. First of all, make affirmations that we have the wisdom and the intelligence to know what to ask for. Then the feeling nature comes in so that we have that blending of the wisdom and the feeling nature so that we can know and understand that we have to have those to evaluate what we really and truly want in life. Should we be saying these affirmations all of the time or just when we start to feel uneasy and think there s some change inside of us? I say them all the time. I go back to last week when we were talking about Emmet Fox s Seven Aspects of God. Since there are seven of them, I suggest that everybody do one a day continuously. You wake up Monday morning and you start with one. You go through the whole week because that s wisdom, its truth, and its understanding. Clutter s Last Stand Getting Unstuck, LLC Page 6 of 20
Understanding, truth, and wisdom are different. You have to have understanding of what s going on. You have to find the truth to get into the facts that may or may not be accurate. You want the truth about it. Then you have to know how to take these two and put them together. That s what s called wisdom, when you know what to do with the information you have. It s sort of truth and understanding combined to make up wisdom? That s right. If you re doing this religiously, no pun intended then it s possible that you will change your definitions and your intended goals and it s not a bad thing. It s a positive thing but you have to be in the right frame of mind to kind of prepare yourself for that to happen? That s absolutely right. One of the things that we hear about a lot is when people first get into New Thought, most of them come in for one of a few reasons. One is that they re desperate for money. Money is a big thing because when people don t have money, they need it. Yet we have a lot of people that feel guilty because money is not supposed to be spiritual. If we just get it into our heads that you have to have money to live and money is spiritual. It s like the first thing I said in the beginning. I ve had ministers say, I don t want the materials things. I want spiritual. With the ideas that Divine Science has, spiritual money, spiritual attitudes, and everything on this planet Earth is omnipresent. It has within it and it contains the spiritual attitudes, the spiritual substance of God. If we understand that everything is made up of this substance then everything is spiritual, including ourselves. So when we get to that point and we can just say that money is God in action, God created money, it is out of his own substance, then we have to say if we didn t demonstrate we wouldn t have anybody that would listen to us at all. Clutter s Last Stand Getting Unstuck, LLC Page 7 of 20
People don t want to go to a poverty place. They want money. They want to have good dinners. They want to have good houses. They don t want a house with a hole in the roof. They don t want a car that doesn t run. We ve got to get our mindset that it s good to have money. Look at all that money can do. Money builds. Money creates. That s the idea that we have to come up with in the spiritual attitude that everything that we have as a desire comes to us from this divine mind that is saying, Let s have more of this on planet Earth. Money is providing for these teleseminars. Along that line, isn t it Wallace D. Waddles that wrote The Science of Getting Rich? Then you d told me the other day about Catherine Ponder s stating that substance is passive and that it s our responsibility to do something positive with It. That s right. Then we go to what blocks your success. All of the opinions that you have that are based on things from the past, your opinions, especially the strong ones, on what is right or wrong, what you can or can t do, or whether or not you have to struggle, these are all attitudes. It s not truth. We had a lady one time that came in and she wanted lots of money. She had lots of things that she wanted to do and several children that she wanted to send to college. They were a lot of good things. She said that she had to work such long, hard hours to make a lot of money. I said, That s not true. It s because you believe that you have to work long, hard hours that you have to work long, hard hours. I sat for about half of an hour and explained how some people that did not have that belief could do well, especially in sales, because it s a good one to refer this kind of idea or attitude to. It s really interesting that as I talked to her she began to accept that she could make a lot of money in a short period of time. She just started saying, How do I find out? We used my little favorite, Show Me the Way. Show me the way how I can make more money in less time. That s a good affirmation for anybody. I can make more money in less time. She was in a hotel that night. She went down to the happy hour. There was a gentleman that sat down beside her on a barstool. She happened to be in Clutter s Last Stand Getting Unstuck, LLC Page 8 of 20
real estate. She had just gotten into it and hadn t really made any sales yet. The gentleman asked where he could go to play and where were the good places to go to. This was in San Antonio about 20 years ago. Finally he said, I love this town. I come through here every now and then and I d like to invest in something. I ve been looking at these hotels and I want one just like that. Do you know anybody in real estate? She said, Yes, as a matter of fact, I am. He said, Do you know of any hotels for sale? She said, Do you like this one? Let s go ask. They looked up the manager who just happened to be sitting and talking with the owner who just happened to be there. It was the only night he d been there in about four months. He just happened to be there when she walked in and said, Could I talk to you? We re looking for a hotel to buy. The owner got a startled look on his face and said, Yes, I m willing to sell. It turned out that she made over $1 million in sales for that night in less than an hour s time of sitting and talking to him, filling out the papers and getting it through. It took the hour that she was with this man and then the few minutes a day she had to keep in touch with all the others and bring it all together. Any time you think you can t make a lot of money, change your attitude. You can make lots of money in short periods of time but you have to be in the right frame of mind. You have to be open and re captive to miracles happening in your life. That was a miracle. She happened to be in the right place at the right time to make lots of money which she had previously thought she couldn t do. She hadn t spent a lot of time eliminating clutter, either. She just worked with you and believed it. This is what I really believe. Clutter comes about when we have these feelings, these ideas that things are difficult. Then the clutter really affects us. If we don t think that things are difficult and are going to be long and hard, clutter is not as frustrating or aggravating to us as it could be when we just think something. What we want to do is get to the point that we can say, Gee, I would like to have Clutter s Last Stand Getting Unstuck, LLC Page 9 of 20
Not with planning it, not with having to do the goal setting, not with any of those, it just happens. That s when you get everything cleared out. You have no reasons to believe and it s also why things happen quickly when you just say the words and let it happen. That s the idea and the thoughts that we want to get to and the point we want to get to. What blocks our success is all of these attitudes. A lack of motivation can block your success. I ll do it tomorrow. Doing it tomorrow and the next day does keep you from getting to that one place. Is that also called procrastination? Yes, it s called procrastination. Your goal is not strong enough to give you that idea and the thought that just holding onto that idea will bring it about, visualizing it, picturing it and enjoying it. The main thing I think is you have to love your goal. You have to love what you want. If you just say, I want money because I want a lot of money in the bank, that s not going to work nearly as well as if you say, I would like to have this money. I would like to do some research. I would like to buy my mother a car. I would like to buy a ranch that I could take my children to and let them learn to ride horses and work with animals. Any of those things gives you a reason that helps motivate you. It doesn t make the idea itself happen. It gives you the motivation to stay with it. If you love chaos more than you love success as Emmet Fox says, When you learn to love God more than you love a problem in your life, this is what he means. When you have fears and those fears are focused on how difficult it s going to be, you love the chaos that is in your life. When you love chaos more than you love success, you re not going to have success. That s a big idea and a big change for most of us as we really get into deciding what we want, how we want it, when we want it, and setting ourselves the expectation that we are working with a spiritual law that cannot fail. When we have our mind and understanding substance, it works together to bring about the results that we want in the shortest period of time. Clutter s Last Stand Getting Unstuck, LLC Page 10 of 20
Before we go into removing blocks let me just go over the summary of what we had. First we talked about how your subconscious mind interferes with success. That s through reaction without evaluation of what you re creating. These things trigger fears or are fear triggerers, as Ann put it. Negative expectations need to be separated from success and they separate you from success. The fears can override your intelligence. A reaction will create a distancing from your goal, which makes it harder and harder to achieve. Then she talked about how your conscious mind interfered with happiness. That talked about choosing to change from your intended goals, withdrawing from your talents, reevaluation of your definition of happiness, and one that I think many of us can identify with, making mountains out of mole hills. Then she mentioned what blocks your success, unchanging attitude and habits, the lack of motivation, the goal isn t strong enough for you to change towards it, and your self or beliefs are not focused and you love chaos more than loving success, once more referencing Emmet Fox. When are we going to have an Emmett Fox series? I don t know. I love to do those and there are so many of them that we could do. If you are interested in a particular one or just hearing it, you should me at GettingUnstuck@mindspring.com. Give us ideas so we can create the teleseminars you want. Now to removing blocks and this is probably what I get more questions about than anything. I m sure all of you know that we use denials very strongly. The organizations that say don t use denials because that s focusing on a negative, again, that s not true. When you use denials, you re saying that belief system that you have is not the absolute truth. Somewhere along the line you got wrong information. The way that we say denials is to always use a double negative on it. Clutter s Last Stand Getting Unstuck, LLC Page 11 of 20
I am not poor therefore I do not attract poverty to me. I am not in poor health therefore I do not attract poor health to me. What you want to do is surround yourself with that aura of health, happiness, and prosperity always. The first time that I heard about Emmet Fox and denials was through Emma Curtis Hopkins. She has some statements that are really strong. In act, we re going to have some of them in our newsletter this month. She has several little booklets that have since been made into the big books that are really strong on denials and explaining them. She has used what Fillmore later said was the Twelve Powers of Man. Hers are different but they re really good, such as there is no problem of whatever sort this is in my life and therefore I have none, I will not attract any to me, there s nothing new that can be attracted to me out of something that s not in me to start with. She really sets it on a really good path. I don t know if you caught this or not but I said something about attracting the problems. I have a thing about the word problem versus the word challenge. I have told this before so if any of you are church members or have heard me in INTA, you probably know that this is something that I m sensitive about. When I was a little girl, my brother used to challenge me to races. He was 18 months older than I was. He was smarter, he was bigger, and he could run faster. At least twice a day he would challenge me for something. He would challenge me to a race. He would challenge me to climb a tree or climb a hill and he always won. In my mind when I was two, three, and four years old, challenge became to me a winner and a loser. On the other hand, when we sat down at the dinner table, my father would give us math questions or addition, subtraction problems, wherever we were in our lessons in school. He would just give us questions to give him solutions to. These were the problems. A problem always has a solution. We just have to find it. I usually use the word problem. If you re using the word challenges and you like that, just swap it out. It doesn t really matter. It s how it affects you and what it does for you. Clutter s Last Stand Getting Unstuck, LLC Page 12 of 20
In removing the blocks we acknowledge the areas of sensitivity that we are trying to change. When we identify that we have wrong information we know what to change. One of the things I do when I go out and give workshops is I get a chalkboard and I ask the people questions to get the congregation in agreement with me. One of the things that New Thought says is there s never a mistake. There are never any mistakes anywhere. I get them to agree because 99% of the people are going to say, Yes, that s absolutely true. There are no such things as a mistake. I write on the chalkboard = 5. What s this? All of a sudden, they re stymied. If you learned when you were in the first grade that = 5, you re bank balance is going to be in a lot of trouble for the rest of your life until you can say, Wait a minute. That s not true. Two and two is not five. Two and two is four. That s why I m having problems. Your life is a little like this. If you learned old wives tales when you were growing up, as all of us did, we have identified things that are not true. Then we get into especially the medical field where so many things have changed over the past 100 years that what we ve learned as children is not true. We ve discovered that all of the things our parents and grandparents told us are not true. Now we have to look at those things and say, Wait a minute. That s not true. I don t have to believe this. All of the reasons for getting sick, all of the inherited things that we re supposed to have, that are not inherited but we believe them to be, we begin to expect it. We have an expectation process in there. To remove blocks you have to really evaluate the things that you believe and ask yourself the question, Do I really want to believe this? Do I want to continue to believe this? When we were small if our parents told us we were going to be too little to do any good or we couldn t get the right education to do anything or we weren t smart enough to do anything productive and we believed that, then we could say affirmations and do prayer treatments for the rest of our Clutter s Last Stand Getting Unstuck, LLC Page 13 of 20
lives and it wouldn t do any good. Our belief is stronger than anything that anybody else could tell us. If there s conflict between your desire and your belief, belief always wins. If you have this conflict in you and are saying, I m going to have to work so hard to do this, then you say, That is not my truth. I refuse to believe that there is any limit to what I can do with my knowledge, my understanding, and my abilities. I can make things happen in the way I want. What I have is a divine idea and divine ideas come with everything within that idea to fulfill it. Does that lead to chemicalization if you don t do the denial? That s right. I didn t get into chemicalization. I will do that too, tonight. I ll slip that one in on the side. Let s go back to removing the blocks. It s a willingness to do whatever s necessary. When you say, Whatever it takes, the door opens for things that you hadn t thought of before. The best way to get through those doors is to stop condemning and criticizing and begin to praise. We hammer on this a lot in Divine Science. Praise and appreciation will bring you lots and lots of good. Condemning and criticizing drives it away from you until it becomes a little blob in the midst of you that says, Everybody I m around is Then it becomes the attracting power. You use denials on things that are not truth or that you don t want to be truth. You make a choice here. If you don t chose to believe any more some of the things that you were raised with, then you just tell yourself, That s not true. Make it happen because we can change things like this. Let me get into the chemicalization. I trust all of you have heard of that or you ve all heard somebody that said, I m doing everything right and I m in the midst of all sorts of chaos. One of the reasons for using the denials is to prevent chemicalization. If we have all of these old beliefs that are within us of what we can and cannot do, especially coming out of many of us with this traditional religion and the beliefs that if God loves us, He s going to give us a lot to struggle with and He s going to bless us in ways that we can learn fast and struggle and work hard. These are some of the things we were raised with earlier. Clutter s Last Stand Getting Unstuck, LLC Page 14 of 20
Let s look at those. If we have those beliefs within us in a different way than we have now, now past tense I m saying, and we don t identify these and say it s not true, then all of a sudden you go into a New Thought church or read a New Thought book and you re getting just the opposite of what you have been told, it goes in and it works together like vinegar and baking soda. It starts fizzling up and running over, moving out into everything in your life, that s called chemicalization. You can always prevent chemicalization. If things begin to bubble up inside you and you seem to be having chaos or things start going wrong in your relationships, home, or work, and you have not used denials, then use them. That usually stops the chemicalization and puts it back into harmony, which is where you wanted it all to begin with. We ll get into that more on another night when we re doing this because it s something that is really important to learn and to understand. This chemicalization process is so strong. I m sure most of you have heard of the book by Emily Cady, Lessons in Truth. There was a chapter on chemicalization in it. It was taken out maybe 20 years ago because it was causing so many problems. People would read this chapter on chemicalization and instead of saying, That s what s been happening, they would believe that, somehow, this chapter was causing it. So they took it out of the book but it still happens. People didn t understand what was happening so they put it back in the book. It s in there now to explain why chaos comes when we re doing everything right. I would just like to reassure anybody that s confused out there. It took me 20 years to understand this. it took me awhile too. Now I want to explain substance. This is a little phrase that I had. I had a little booklet that I wrote a long time ago on The Art of Making Things Happen. This was the first real insight that I felt that I had gained by myself just through meditating. Clutter s Last Stand Getting Unstuck, LLC Page 15 of 20
There were five phrases in it. One is there s an energy that permeates the universe. It s everywhere in all things. This energy is good. That s number two. Number three is it is everywhere in all things with all wisdom, omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent. It s all powerful. This other key that I didn t understand where it came from is it is passive. This substance, this energy of the universe, is passive. It just sort of sits around us in little atoms and does nothing until it is moved upon by the minds of human beings. This is very important. If you understand this, you are well on your way to understanding metaphysics. There s an energy that permeates the universe. This energy is good. It is everywhere in all things, all wisdom, and all power. Very important, it is passive. It is moved upon by the minds of human beings. When you re working with the law of attraction that is what attracts, this mind within you, the subconscious mind that has a belief system that draws to you according to your goals, your desires, and your wishes. This can put it into motion. That is very important to learn. Understanding that, we move into the law of consciousness. We re going to talk about three laws tonight and these are the ones that we go back to constantly. I ll give more later on. This is really just touching on it. Each one needs a minimum of an hour to really get into in depth. The law of consciousness is everything that you have ever heard, read, seen, and done is imprinted on your subconscious mind. You have it within you, every single thing. That s one of the reasons why we say don t listen to country western music when you re going to bed at night because you re going to get bad trucks, sick dogs, a wife that left, and all of those things. All of a sudden, you wake up and you don t understand why you re having problems. We don t recognize what is buried within us. We have all of these ideas and thoughts that we have been told, that we have read, or that a schoolteacher or, especially, a person of authority like something we heard in church. Clutter s Last Stand Getting Unstuck, LLC Page 16 of 20
Many of us has this idea that if we didn t do what we were supposed to do, we would be going to hell in a hand basket. We don t really know what that means but that s where we re going and how we re going. What s a hand basket? How could you fit in a hand basket? That s my southernism. After the law of consciousness when you begin to evaluate all of these things that you have buried from your belief systems, then we can move into the law of mind action. This is where we use denials and affirmations the most. That s where we recognize what needs to be changed. We change it through denials and affirmations. That s not my truth. My truth is In this we change from anger to peace. We stop being angry about things we can t do anything about. That s a so what, big deal. We move into acceptance if we can t change it. What we do is we stay away from it. We eliminate it from our lives. We remove it in some way. Sometimes this means people or situations or things. If it interferes with your peace of mind, it needs to be looked at. What in you is attracting that? We move from judgment and opinions. We re a very opinionated nation. All of us know everything about everything. We move from judgment to discernment and acceptance. Discernment, separate from the word judgment, means I can look at a situation, I can decide if I want it in my life, and I simply say, Yes, thank you or No, thank you. That s what discernment means. It s a nonjudgmental word. I don t have to call it right or wrong because what s right for me may not be right for everybody else. What s wrong for me may not be wrong for everybody else. It s not a right and wrong. It s a Do I choose to have it in my life? We give up self pity by moving into self confidence. We give up dishonesty and move into honesty. We give up meanness and move into kindness. We do this through recognition, denials, and affirmations. It s very important that these steps come in that way. I think that a lot of New Thought has been confused because we get little bits here and little bits there. We first hear about the law of cause and Clutter s Last Stand Getting Unstuck, LLC Page 17 of 20
effect and then we hear about other laws. Unless we learn them in this order it can be confusing. First, the law of consciousness is everything that we have within us in the subconscious, and then the law of mind action is making the change. Then when we have made that change and we have given up the past, we move into that law of cause and effect. It is your mind has been taken off, which is the mind action, you take your mind off what you don t want and you put it on what you do want. When the negative is recognized and changed in that law of mind action then your desires, your goals, what you speak your word to, what you make your ideas, your wants, and your desires will become quickly and easily. You ve gotten all of the stuff out of the way. There is an example I heard a long time ago about a five year old who was left with a babysitter for the first time. He was much afraid and really got upset about it. He caused a little bit of a temper tantrum for himself. The babysitter slapped him and told him he d never be successful at anything because he spilled his milk and he wasn t careful with things. When she said this it made such an impact for him that when he got older, he was in a study of people that had similar goals, backgrounds, dreams, and motivations, and he lost out on everything. If he could set up an appointment for a job interview, he would so sabotage himself that he wouldn t make it to the interview. He would be late. He d have a flat tire or he d get lost. Something would happen so he couldn t get to that interview. If he was taking somebody out on a first date and he wanted to make a good impression, he d do the same thing again. He d get lost or he d forget the appointment. When they put him beside all of these other people that were in his life and that they were doing all this testing on, they did hypnosis with this group of people to see why some of them really affected themselves in not being successful. This is something that we also want to look at. If we keep going for things and not getting them, not being successful, we look back to what we say, what we think, what we do, and what s in our past that could be interfering. Clutter s Last Stand Getting Unstuck, LLC Page 18 of 20
We take our mind off what we don t want. We put it on what we do want. We allow that door to open. We allow that substance to move all around us and attract to us the goals that we have set in motion by taking this energy and putting strong thoughts into it with I choose, I want it to happen in my life. I believe it will happen. Beginning that pull to bring it to us or to show us where it is and how to work with it. The next and last step is to take it or leave it. You can either listen to this, do your homework on yourself, evaluate what you want, what you re ready to give up in order to get what you want or you can leave it. Being ready to move ahead, focusing on what right in your life instead of what s wrong, and very important is loving where you want to go more than you love where you are. Loving that goal that you have, being ready to move ahead. Knowing that you may be leaving some things behind but also knowing that it may be time to do that. In other words, it s loving success more than loving chaos. My understanding is no matter how advanced you are in New Thought, this is something that you probably out to do intermittently because you always should be ready to move to a different level? Yes and that s important because every time we move steps, we re going to leave people behind. Then we realize there s nobody around us. That s the time again to move into doing another reevaluation of what beliefs do I still have? I assume you still do this? I absolutely do. So no matter how high you get, you always have an opportunity to clear out some more stuff? That s right. The people that I know that have really been working at this a long time, the authors and the people who have reached really high places, do this constantly. What is it that prevents me from having this? What is that prevents me this very moment from having whatever it is that I am ready to move into? Clutter s Last Stand Getting Unstuck, LLC Page 19 of 20
If you don t know it, it doesn t matter. If you don t know what your next step is, you ll just get a feeling that there s change coming up. Then you can just say, Open the door. Show me what it is I m supposed to do. That alone will put you through whatever seems to be interfering. That s another version of, Show me the way.
