"I came that ye might have life and more abur:dant life. 3verything that he taught seemed to lead up to that one thought that we must have continuous life; we must have a consciousness of life. row we can see as we analyze ourselves and this life how necessary it is to live to 2 enjoy life. You can see it is a great evil to have it cut off. Just about the time that we begin to enjoy ourselves, why we have to die. 7:,o that can't be according to the divine plan. 2 activity of the body. Now we need to get an understanding of.what life is, where it comes from, how it acts and what the science is back of Jesus Christ's teaching of eternal life. He must have had hold of something deeper and stronger and better than we are taught in Christianity today, because he demonstrated continuity of life in his body. Now we know how frail the life tenure is in the body. This life stream flows 4 through the body and makes a complete circuit in eight minutes. That is a pretty rapid flow. Just think of the intricate channels that it flows through, the arteries and veins and yet if just a little bit of a clog forms in that life stream the soul leaves the body. 1e have had that illustrated so often in prominent people, people who in the prime of life are all at once thrown out of their bodies and we call them dead because

3 of this stoppage of this current of life, but what causes the life to flow? 4e11, you say the npnhinery of the body. But what is back of the machinery? Well we suppose that it is the soul, and what is back of the soul': The spirit, and where does the anirit come from? Oh, well, we will know more about that when we are dead. Don't you fool yourself, If you have a spirit, you ought to know about it now. Don't wait until 6 you are dead.. "The dead know not anything," said the Bible. It is the living people. "Let the dead bury their dead. Follow thou me," and get this understanding of life, what it means and What it does. Then you will be a follower of Jesus Christ. You will begin to know what you are and you will head off those fearful devastating conditions that come - Ton man in the prime of life. When they ought to be living, they have to die.

There must be somethin g wrong with that kind of a system and the wrong is that the system itself is wrong. we are responsible for the system because we are wror, -, that is we haven't got a rieht understanding of what life is. e haven't gone back to the source of life. "e are told that the source of life is G! d. That is true. yell, what do you know about God? Where is he, and 7hat is he? Those are questions that we ought every one of us to anawer because if God is our father, we ought to be acquainted with him; we ought to know something about this - source of man, and the source o.f ourselves, and so we should begin to inquire into this: matter and find out for ourselves. That is what we nay do. Jesus Christ is the

5 best guiding light; he knows because he demonstrated. have every reason to believe that he demonstrate that he could overcome this life activity. All along in his teachings he told about having a consciousness of an inner life. He really had the well of living water within. He told the woman at the well about another well. He said, "hy if you would drink of this water that I would give you, you would 10 never thirst again." How that is the water of life, and we are thirsting for a larger consciousness of life. a are longing for a security in our lives. le say, "If I only knew now What the future would be, if I only knew that I could live and continue to live; if I only Iiew how to overcome the ills of the flesh, how much happier I would be, how much more security I would have." Certainly you would. It is this

6 11 fear of those things that come after life that makes us rather bear the ills we have than fly to others that we know not of. It is the fear, and that fear is a distressing impediment to the life too, because the life flow in our bodies needs confidence, and confidence comes of understanding..and we can every one of us have this understanding of what life is, but we have to get back to the source of understanding 12 which is the light and that light is the symbol of intelligence. Nov: there is an intelligence in you that is greater than any outside intelligence, the intelligence in anybody else, no difference how much that one may know, how many sciences they may have- or diplomas they may have gained, there is that something in you that is greater than he thl.t is in the world, and that is my own knowing quality, that something

7 that knows in me. That is the Christ life and when we have that Christ life we begin to see what the life flow means. rl can, if we take this light of intelligence, go within ourselves and go within the soul and there you begin to feel that there is something back of what we call the circulation of the blood. Science tells us you know that every corpuscle has within it a certain quality that lights it up and gives it 14 its impetus and sends it through the circulation, that those corpuscles have certain characteristics and seem to know just where they shall go. Some of them go to build up our toe nails and finger nails and hair and every bit of the organism has its specific quality flowing through the blood and yet every one of those little corpuscles knows just where it belongs, and it goes there and becomes

8 part of that necessary element and that faculty or that quality or whatever you may call it in your body. Now that is wonderful intelligence. Suppose you could get throlc.h your conscious mind in touch with what we call the subconscious mind, and as I say every one of these little entities in'your blood stream knows exactly what it is going to do, and if you are going to co-operate with that, couldn't' you keep up the flow and so if you 16 want better teeth -- they may be decaying. as? The doctors say you are not eating the right kind of food or something that the teeth are not receiving, the necessary substance. Now supposing you knew that there was an intelligence there and that you by co-operating with that wou_d fill in the necessary elements just through, well, knowing. 9 17 now that is the way we find that we have to get at what we call an understanding of man, an Understanding of ourselves. e have here within us a man, a soul, an intelligence that knows and if this conscious mind that lives tp here in the front brain all the time, if it would get down into its organism and associate with these forces and make itself one with them, it would begin to know what the man is, 16 what the processes are, so you can see it is a study and it isn't a hard study. little time every day given to this -- you have to give attention to it. If you want to know more about life you begin to think about the life strean. People say: "That is too physical; I don't want to think about my blood." Your blood has within it the intelligence and power and everything that you are building into your body. I follow

10 the blood in my body very frequently. I an intelligence and power and I feel it. Now we are every one light fundamentally. There is a light in you and everything is lighte up in you. Go within and think about the light and you will find that every one of these little corpuscles in your blood has a light in it, that is that they are living. If you are alive you have that light and by thinking about that light.20 you can feel the life stream all through your body, and you can increase the flow. That has been proven again and again. You - think for a moment that the life flow -- start for example with your heart and think the life is going down these great veins and arteries; I an going down into my right foot, and you can feel yourself going to your right foot. start again at the heart and go down the left side and you can follow the flow.

Before going to sleep we should every one of us equalize and go through the

12 22 the body and take control of it. 'his is the paradise of God, the garden of Eden. e should trim it and take care of it. It is ours. If you will do that you will find that you have the beginning at least of eternal life. aaatever the condition is in your body that has caused you inharmony and sickness you will find it can be handled if you know the circulation. he first thing and the foundation of it all is to realize the one great source of life. God is life. Now if you

13 think about thtt and open up your consciousness -- that means your soul and your Spirit -- to the one great life, yox will find that you can stimulate and increase the life flow. I couldn't describe the avenues of expression that will open, avenues that are of wonderful import to every man, woman and child. Children often get hold of this law through concentrating and thinking about what they want, what they wish 24 to come in contact with just through that power of thought..:jed they open up a potential element all through the organism. Ilan is a very wonderful animal and he is an animal so far as his body is concerned, and back of that is his soul, and within that is the triumphant spirit. It is through this Spirit, this omnipotent one, we shall accomplish all things. Let us think about ourselves as Spirit. Through the power of

But like that young man rho came to Jesus Christ and asked what he sould do to enter into eternal life, we have to sell a good many of our so-called posses:: ions. -e have to get rid of a whole lot of intellectual knowledge and we have to unload those outside things. have to unburden ourselves in order to let in this great spiritual life. :7ow if you are thinking about life going 26 from the body and that it is the physical expression and that it stops when the body stops, you must get rid of all that. That is luggage. That is effete thinking. It isn't true. Life is omnipresent and eternal. 1,11 man has to do is to think about that and immediately he begins to express. Jhatever you think, you do. That is a strange oroposition, but just the moment you begin to think of eternal life as here and no,

15 27 your circulation is i7rroved. Life begins to flow through the arteries and veins more rapidly. Your blood can be increased by thinking about life, life, life, and we have very frequently been called to cases where patients have gotten into the thought that they are passing out, that life is ceasing its flow. What do we do in a case like that, begin to go back to some error thoughtt No, we take up that one thought: , ternal life is now here; there is no absence of life and no getting away from life." The human mind can think it can get away from life and it will get away from it. *Whatever you think will come to pass. W.henever you think that life will grow less: and less, you will demonstrate it. If you believe that you are passing out of the body, you will pass out. lady told me the other day that her daughter phoned in about one or

16 two o'clock to Silent Unity for help and said her mother was dying, and we took the case un and began to hold: "There is no ssch thing as death, and no such thing as the soul passing out of the body, no such thing in reality as cessation of the life consciousness," and we held her and when she came out of that condition she told the daughter the next day : "If something hadn't occurred I would have passed out of the body. I had made 30 up my mind it was time for me to die," but she said, "Something else came in and said it was time to live and I am alive and I felt that change and I absolutely know that the decision was with me right then whether I should live or die, and if it hadn't been for that thought that I got I would have died." And she came out of that condition and is very healthy now. You may think that is a simple proposition, and so it was,

17 but we are making these, decisions every day, every time that you talk about life and that it is passing away, or "I am getting less and less in my life activity, and so forth," you are putting life away. On the other hand if you would say, "I believe in eternal life; I am getting younger and stronger every day; every part of my organism is now responding to eternal life," you will wake up that life consciousness and you will find you are growing stronger and better and having more life and better vitalized in every way. You think clearerand you can do your work better by making statements like that. You can demoristrate that, and take that right,rith you and begin to declare for abundant life, eternal life, conscious life, Christ life, that God life which' is osciipresent, which Jesus came to demonstrate and prove to us, that it

18 33 could be applied, that life itself will begin to manifest. That is something- that we have proven here and demonstrated. ::Zany of you have gotten the results, believed in that life and applied it in just this way. Let us tonight think about more abundant life.
