Impressions of Lithuanian students during the 1 st LTTA in Athens 5. If you were responsible for organizing such project meeting, what would you 6. Which event during the project meeting you liked most of all and why? 7. Which visits and sightseeing did impress you most of all? (Acropolis museum, Archaeological museum, Pantheon, Poseidon temple, Silver mines, Concert hall etc.)
Name, surname: Evelina Buividavičiūtė Grade II I learnt something new about Greece, its culture and history. Also I improved my English speaking skills. Greek school appeared not like I imagined it. Its building was old with a lot of graffiti on the walls, which make it look untidy. However, never judge a book by its cover, because teachers and students are fantastic, friendly and cheerful. Most of all I was impressed by Greece itself, Greek people, its ancient buildings and ruins. I go back there and see everything once more! I really liked how everything was organised during this project meeting. It was a great week and I am really satisfied with this project meeting. So if I organised such meeting I would organise everything in the same way, because all activities were interesting. I liked presentations of all countries. It was interesting to present our traditional games and dances and also it was very interesting to see how other countries showed their presentations. It was exciting to dance Turkish dances, to create Portuguese masks, to play in the performance according to the Greek task. But the best thing was that we did everything together with all our new friends! All places which we visited impressed me very much. It was really interesting to see Athens from all sides. I learnt a lot about history of Greece and, of course, I broaden my outlook. I like absolutely everything; every day brought something new, something special! And I am sure I will come back there!
Name, surname Akstė Žąsinaitė Grade III I have a lot of different impressions; also I got acquainted with the people of other nationality, their culture. I learnt about the country much more, than I expected and I had a very nice time during the project meeting. To be honest it was really interesting to see school in another country and I can say that it differs from my school, but I liked it. The nature of Greece impressed me most of all, and the city of Athens. Also I liked Greek people and friendliness of Greek students. We felt as if we knew each other for a long time! If I were responsible for organising such project activities I would not change anything, because I liked everything! Or maybe I would change only one thing- I would make such meeting longer! Most of all I liked the presentations of our partners. We all are so different, but at the same time the students are very creative and talented! We saw things which we have never seen before and learnt a lot of new and interesting facts about each country. The museum of Acropolis. It was really a special place!
Name, surname Beatričė Lauratuvičiūtė Grade Ib During this visit I learnt a lot not only about Greece but also about Turkey and Portugal. Greek school, in my opinion, differs from Lithuanian schools with its atmosphere, however, I I liked teachers and students in it very much. This is a school in which I would like to study. I was impressed most of all by Greece itself, its capital, people, beautiful buildings and its culture. And, of course, all sights, which make Greece really different from all other countries, all of them impressed me very much. I think there is nothing to change in a perfect project meeting. I would like to repeat everything but not to change. Most of all I liked the activities at school where we got acquainted with each other and presented our countries. Most of all I was impressed by Acropolis museum, because in it we saw the most beautiful antique sculptures, also I liked how interestingly the teacher from Greek school told us about ancient Greece. Also I will never forget the view from Acropolis hill. I have never seen such beauty before. The view of Athens and its beautiful buildings was really impressive.
Name, surname Henrikas Kubulkis Grade II I have always been interested in the history of ancient Greece and when I was in Greece learnt a lot about it. Also I was happy to practice my English and found a lot of new friends. I also learnt to adjust to people of another culture and lifestyle. Greek school is really great. One of the reasons is that because students of many nationalities study there. All of them are very friendly, always smiling and helpful. And the same I ca say about the teachers. I really cannot choose what impressed me most of all, because everything in this project meeting was the biggest impression. But if I have to choose, I can say that Poseidon Temple was awesome! I think nothing should be changed in the project meeting. Maybe only one thing- it would be better if dinner was booked in advance, because in some places we had to wait for quite a long time. I liked most of ll the days at school when each team presented their country, because during this event I could learn a lot about other countries culture and traditions and because we all could participate in these activities and to know each other better. Archeological museum, Pantheon, Poseidon temple, Silver mines, Concert hall etc.) I think The Acropolis museum was the place where I learnt most of all, that s why I got the biggest impression from visiting this museum. Also I liked the concert of classical music, because I had been dreaming for a long time to go to such concert in Lithuania, but I couldn t, so it was a great chance not just listen to classical music, but to listen it in Athens Concert hall.
Name, surname Kamilė Statkutė Grade II First of all, I practiced my English and it became better after the project meeting. Also I learnt a lot about Greece. At first, I didn t like the building of Greek school, because there were a lot of graffiti on the walls of the school, and I didn t like it. Also I didn t like the fact that people smoke in the school yard. But I liked that all students and teachers are very nice. I liked Athens and all places in it. But most of all I liked the view of Athens from Acropolis. If I had to organise such project meeting, I would include more excursions around the country, because I liked excursions most of all. At the beginning of the project I would organise such activities, where all students could know each other better. And at the end of the project I would ask everybody to write a letter with their impressions about the project meeting. Most of all I liked all activities at school, when we played together, danced together, because during these activities we became friends with all students from Greece, Portugal and Turkey. I liked most of all the museum of Acropolis, because there were a lot of beautiful sculptures and because I learnt a lot about the history of Greece and I could see a lot of ancient things with my own eyes.
Name, surname: Ovidijus Janušauskas Grade Ib I learnt a lot about Greek culture, I saw how people live there. Also we touched its history, saw with our eyes famous historical places. I think the building of school is rather old and it is not attractive for students. But the atmosphere in the school was incredible; everybody is so friendly and open-minded. First of all I was impressed by Athens, all places which we visited were fantastic, for example Acropolis museum, Archaeological museum, Pantheon, Poseidon temple and others. Also the Greek students who were with us all the time were great! I don t think that we have to change something in the project meeting, because it was interesting and well-organised. I liked presentations of each country, because I learnt things which I didn t know before: Turkish dances, Portuguese masks, Greek tragedy. And the most interesting thing was that we tried to do everything on our own. All places were very interesting, and I was happy that I got the chance to visit them. But most of all I liked Acropolis. It was really impressive to see the place which I saw many times in our History books but never saw in reality.
Name, surname Paulius Danusevičius Grade 8 During the project meeting I learnt a lot of new things about Greek history and culture, about life style of Greek people. Also I got acquainted with ancient Greek Gods, ancient legends and ancient architecture. I found a lot new friends from other countries (not only from Greece, but also from Portugal and Turkey). I liked Greek school very much. It is rather old school but the teachers are really friendly and communicative. I think I was impressed most of all by fantastic view of Athens. I liked very friendly students from all schools-partners of our project, especially from Greek school. I don t know what to change. Everything was great! I liked most of all the visit to Acropolis, because I read and heard a lot about it before, so it was really great to see it in reality. Also I liked that I could find friends from other countries: Portugal, Greece and Turkey. Archeological museum, Pantheon, Poseidon temple, Silver mines, Concert hall etc. ) I liked everything, but Poseidon temple impressed me most of all because this temple is very beautiful and in addition, there is a fantastic view to the sea from it, which I liked very much.
Name, surname: Rasa Mažekaitė Grade IV I learnt a lot about Greek culture, its history and also traditions. I found out a lot of new facts about this country. I think that people in Greek school are very hospitable, but the school is not modern enough. I was impressed by everything during the project meeting, but most of all I liked our visit to Acropolis, because it symbolises very long history not only of Greece but of the whole world. Also I cannot forget the breathe-taking views of Athens from Acropolis. If I had to organise such project meeting in Greece I would add more excursions to different historical places, because Greece has very rich history, and there are a lot of special and unique places which would be very interesting to see. On the other hand, this project meeting was perfect, so I would not change anything. I think the best was day at school when Greek team presented their activities and we had to prepare our performances according the task of Greek team. It was a great experience! Of course, visit of Acropolis, as I said before, was the best excursion of all! Fantastic views, interesting stories which we were told about it, everything was unforgettable!
