Author Richard Thompson answers that a large body of evidence suggests that modern man is millions of years older than we are taught. One bizarre example is the discovery of hundreds of metallic spheres; found in South Africa, which show obvious signs of human workmanship, yet the strata they were in dates to an astounding 2.8 billion years! The reaction from other scientists at the time was, according to Cremo, an example of how a mindset can prevent one from seeing the obvious. All three tests agreed on the date of 250,000 years old. According to Dr. McIntyre, "they could not handle" such an old date for man in the New World. It would mean re-writing all the history books. We see what appears to be the body of a plesiosaurus, caught in the nets of a Japanese fishing trawler. Neil Steede, a Mesoamerican archeologist, thinks that this theory needs to be revised. We visit the ancient city of Tiahuanaco, in Bolivia, to explore evidence that suggests it could be twice as old as any other city in the world.
