October 16, 2018 What is the liturgical year? How can I celebrate it at home and why would I want to? The liturgical year is... the arrangement of the Church s celebrations around the important events in the life of Christ. The annual cycle of the liturgical season in the Church determines when feast days, including celebrations of the saints, are to be observed and which portions of Scripture are to be read. We can celebrate the liturgical year with the Church in our homes through prayer, the celebration of Feasts Days, and the cultivation of traditions that focus our daily lives on Christ. This is a great way to bring God s love into our home. Currently we are in Ordinary Time. IDEA! Look for activities, recipes, books, movies, and crafts that will help you celebrate our beautiful Catholic faith with your children at home throughout the year. Each month, we will share with your more ideas on celebrating your faith through the liturgical year at home. ~ The Spirituality Committee Saints Inc Parents: Gift of time Pumpkin Carving Our mission is to inspire and empower all learners to become the person God intends by integrating Catholic Virtue, Prayer and Service with 21st Century Learning. "Choose Joy" Katie Stifter shares about the loss of her husband and how she found joy amongst tragedy. Wednesday, November 7 6 PM St. Joseph Church "In 2016, my husband went missing for 3 weeks and 4 days, and it was later found that he tragically drowned in a freak paddle boarding accident. Leaving me a pregnant 35 year old widow, with two small children to raise. It was a very publicized event in Minnesota news. So what does one do in this situation? You can either Live and choose Joy, or get stuck in the yuck. I choose Joy, all day, everyday. Humor, laughter, and helping others have always been my calling. I am now devoting myself to helping others survive their own life tragedies with a lot of Faith, a ton of Laughter, and a choice to keep living!!!!!" - Katie St. Joseph Catholic Community 41 East 1st Street, Waconia, MN 55387 faithforlife@stjosephwaconia.org 952-442-3707
