In the year 1571, St. Pius V instituted this feast on thanksgiving for the great naval victory over the Turks at Lepanto. He believed that the recitation of this prayer was the key to winning the battle. Praying the rosary daily is one of the most beautiful things a Catholic can do. It is also extremely effective in winning the battle against Satan and sin. This is because the very praying of the rosary is the best way to honor Mary, the Mother of Jesus. When we honor his Mother, we honor Him. Like any good son, he takes care of the people who take care of his mom. When we recite the rosary, we are showing Jesus and Mary that we want to help them in their mission to save souls, especially those most in danger of being lost. Satan absolutely hates when we pray the rosary, which is a great reason to start saying it. He hates the rosary because it really works. There is one more great benefit I ve discovered that comes from saying the rosary, and that is it s great power to heal. Many times when I ve been angry or scared or anxious I grab my rosaries and begin to pray and the feelings simply vanish. It really does provide comfort and consolation! And it works every time. On this great feast day, may I encourage you to make a daily habit of praying the rosary? I promise you will not regret it. The rosary had changed my life and countless other lives over the centuries for the better. And of course, you will be making Jesus and Mary very happy. What could be better than that? God Bless You, The Letter to the Hebrews Chap 2 Verses 9-11 He who consecrates and those who are being consecrated all have one origin. The Gospel of Mark Chap 10, Verses 2-26 [2-12] Whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.
