I have received three suggestions so far which will be addressed at our Commanders Quarterly Forum on the 7 th. I will also address your suggestions in our monthly meeting and provide them to the Auxiliary President. We are in the process of ordering material for a membership drive and will be looking for volunteers to help sign up new members. We will also need people to help cook, hamburgers and hotdogs, if you are interested please let me know. Once we have set a date we will put up a sign up sheet. Come on in on Sundays and watch some of the games with us and have a couple of drinks with your friends. You can even bring a snack to pass with everyone and make it even more fun!! We have been very slow in the Canteen during July and August due to the heat, rain and traffic. We really need your support so please stop in and have a cocktail and also help support our lunches, dinners and events. Our Auxiliary is working hard to bring you some great comfort food dinners with great sized portions. Their August dinners were great with a wonderful turn out. If you missed them you really missed some great food. I would like to thank everyone that volunteered to help, both Auxiliary and Post General members stepped up and did a GREAT JOB!!!!!! We will be having a Commanders Quarterly Forum on Friday, Sept. 7th from 12pm 1pm. See the flyer on the Events And Notices Page of this newsletter for all the info. Don t forget we are having our Labor Day BBQ on Mon. Sept. 3rd. From 1pm until 5pm. Come on in and bring a covered dish or dessert to share. Continued.. BE A PART OF THE SOLUTION.. NOT PART OF THE PROBLEM!! FROM THE CANTEEN MANAGER Labor Day is here already!! I know a lot of people go away or have there own picnics, but you re the ones stuck home come join your family at the VFW. We will be having Hamburgers and Hotdogs and everyone's delicious covered dishes. It s some of the best food in town. You can bring in your own favorite dish or dessert for everyone to share. Join us you won t regret it!! Halloween is two months away and I know that sounds like a long time but it will be here before you know it so start planning what your going to dress up as because we will be giving away prizes for the top three costumes. It s just the nature of the beast. However due to a few changes that we ve made to our meat bingo and our meals we ve made a huge difference in these events. Our success has been huge!! As we move forward we look to make further changes to enhance this Auxiliary. Participation is the key to our success. Sign up a friend and get involved. You can be part of our success and can be proud that you helped!! I want to thank everyone that stepped up and is helping make our slow times fun and more profitable. You ve done a great job so lets keep the ball rolling as we head toward the holiday season. Your thoughts and ideas are important so get involved.
