September 2016 Greetings in HIS precious name We have nearly completed the third quarter of 2016 and as we reflect on the year so far, we have much to be grateful for. We are blessed in our Emmaus community to have so many servants that are actively involved and that collectively grow this amazing ministry. How are we going to do something for Christ to help make our world a better place? How can you pass God s grace and share His amazing love? How will your Emmaus experience be used for God s glory and honour? It s not about us it s ALL about him. Let s all work together to be the disciples He created us to be! Seek Him, Serve Him, Love Him. We have completed our Team Formation for Face to Face Encounter 109 and ask you to be praying for God s leading as we still have space for more pilgrims. How can an Emmaus Member Participate in Face to Face? Be part of the send-off and sponsors hour on Tuesday 4 October 9h00 to 10h00. Attend Candlelight on Tuesday 11 October 13h30 14h30. Attend Closing on Tuesday 13 October 13h30 to 15h30. Fill a slot on the Prayer Roster. Go to www.kznemmaus.co.za and click on the Prayer Vigil. PRAYER Tuesday 4 October : Thursday 6 October Tuesday 12 October : Thursday 14 October I was so blessed to receive the Face to Face 109 Prayer Update and so share it with you. As the Encounter approaches we are filled with anticipation and a sense of expectation. We know that God is going to transform the lives of the pilgrims who will be on the walk and we are grateful that we may be His instruments of love, his hands and feet. We thank God for the privilege of serving Him through this ministry. For we are God s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Eph 2 v 10. As God s team we will bless the pilgrims, but, as in the case in all God s work, we will find ourselves equally blessed through the opportunity to work together as God s people and grow deeper relationships with each other and with Jesus. We thank God for this. Mother Theresa, who lived her whole life in service to others, once said: The fruit of silence is prayer; the fruit of prayer is faith; the fruit of faith is love; the fruit of love is service; the fruit of service is peace. We would like to remind you that our KZN EMMAUS Annual General Meeting will be
held at All Saints United Church, Pietermaritzburg on the 22 October 2016 as part of our Gathering. We will have a bring and share tea and lunch. So please mark your calendars. Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows. Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. Matt 10: 29-32 FACE TO FACE We have 26 registered pilgrims and a few in progress for face to Face 109. Please take a prayer slot on the prayer vigil. Face to Face takes place at All Saints United Church, Pietermaritzburg on Tuesday 4 th and Thursday 6 th October and Tuesday 11 th and Thursday 13 th. There is sponsor s hour on Tuesday 4 th from 9 to 10 Candlelight is on Tuesday the 11 th from 1:30 to 2:30 pm, and Closing is on Thursday 13 th from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. Come and experience a daylight Candlelight it is quite challenging to the Team but quite wonderful all the same. You can access it from www.kznemmaus.co.za There is still time to help register a pilgrim for Face to Face 109. Face to Face is for both men and women, over 60, meeting at the same time. The programme is different to an Emmaus Walk, yet basically covers the same content, just as the Alarga Stroll is slightly different. I had the privilege to work on the first Face to Face and saw how great our God is as He is able to reach people who have been involved in their church work for many years yet, went away with a fresh understanding and new vigour to pump back into their own church. I encourage you to support others who may need to further their walk with our Lord. Supplies Co-ordinator wanted
As a Board we have decided that Day 4, The Pilgrim s Continued Journey is a very worthwhile book to have. Chapters include, Before the Walk to Emmaus, Three Days in the Company of Fellow Pilgrims, Agape, The Next Generation. The book costs R60, so either let me know if you wish to purchase a copy or bring the money with you to the Gathering. I assure you, you will not be disappointed in the book. GATHERING Our gathering is on the 22.10.2016 at All Saints United Church, Pietermaritzburg. A huge thank you to the Accountability group: Capital Pray Warriors who have agreed to help with setup. This Gathering is going to be very different to any other you have been to or heard about. Please diarise this date. Come and be prepared to be excited, challenged, stretched and fulfilled! Chrysalis will be having their AGM at the Gathering as well. What a great way to get to know what they are doing and for us as a Community to see where we can help them grow into fully fledged butterflies. News of the passing of Devi Sibanda-Clarke and Ash Swart has just arrived. Condolences to their family and friends. Please remember them all in your prayer. Gary Elliot from the Eastern Cape need our help please. They still have a number of slots open on their 72-hour prayer vigil. Please, please could I ask you to request prayer support for them from your Board and community? I have previously experienced a similar situation and it was beautiful to witness that in less than 12 hours Emmaus friends around
the world rallied together in support of a community and by 07:00 on the Thursday their prayer vigil was full. The slots that need to be filled are NOT the early morning slots - our friends from the USA are already supporting the EC team and pilgrims in that respect, so you won t need to give up your beauty sleep!! Please would you be gracious and take a slot on their walks and collectively uplift them in prayer from across the corners of our country. The links are as follows: Eastern Cape Men s Walk 73: http://www.3dayol.org/vigil/getvigil.phtml?pvid=12602&commid=97 Eastern Cape Ladies Walk 74: http://www.3dayol.org/vigil/getvigil.phtml?pvid=12603&commid=97 I pray you will all enjoy the rains we are having, not destructive, but soft soaking rains well, at least here in the Midlands. Thank you our Gracious God for remembering us and hearing our prayers. Isn t the spring just so beautiful with the colours, textures, shapes, heights, etc.? As the song goes, June is busting out all over, but I sing Ingrith is busting out all over with the joy of Your spring! Bless you all as you travel the road with Him who walks with you, because you walk with Him. Ingrith Roberts
