Divine Mercy Sunday Saturday and Sunday April 22-23, 2017 www.stjudecatholic.org They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of bread and to the prayers. Awe came upon everyone, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their property and possessions and divide them among all according to each one's need. (Acts 2:42-47) Dear Friends: WOW! Holy Week here at Saint Jude was an amazing experience! Thank you again to all of you and especially to all of our liturgical ministers, music ministry, and to our personnel. The music was incredible and the decorations in church just as awesome! It was good to be with you for prayer. Congratulations again to our new Catholics, whose names are printed on the cover of this bulletin. Thank you also to Melanie and our RCIA team for your hard work. I want to offer my special thanks to Austin Young of Saint Jude Parish for his service during Holy Week as master of ceremonies and to all of our altar servers! I have good news for all of us: I received word from Bishop Muench this morning that both Austin and Joseph St. Cyr of Saint Jude Parish have been accepted into the seminary for this Fall to study for the priesthood for the Diocese of Baton Rouge! Congratulations to both of them. Let s keep them in our prayers. Also, congratulations in advance to Mr. Minos Ponvelle of Saint Jude who will be ordained a Permanent Deacon on Saturday June 10! I will be away from Monday through Thursday of this coming week for a quick vacation. After I return, our next big event will be First Eucharist! I can t wait! Once again Happy Easter! Sincerely, Fr. Trey Nelson Pastor

A SEASON OF JOY They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of bread and to the prayers (Acts 2:42). This first line of today s first reading sets the tone as this fifty-day celebration of Easter opens before us. Today we listen to the teachings of three apostles Luke, Peter, and John who remind us that even though we have not seen Christ, we nonetheless are filled with joy as we place our belief in his saving death and resurrection. Each week during the Easter season we will gather as a community of faith to find strength and support from our God and from one another. Each week we will gather to break bread and offer the great prayer of thanksgiving, actions that will manifest the very presence of the risen Christ in our midst. Let us be open to the wonders of this season of joy. Copyright J. S. Paluch Co., Inc. For Prayer Request, Call our Prayer Line, 766-3668 or 766-3736 Help Needed!
