WELCOME Westminster Presbyterian Church is a covenant family of believers called by God to fulfill His purposes here in Laurel, and as a staging ground for worldwide kingdom growth where we seek to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ to fill the earth with disciples, subdue it redemptively for God s glory, and worship Him joyfully. We are being redeemed and equipped by the Spirit to build up one another until the Lord returns.

ORDER FOR THE CELEBRATION OF PUBLIC WORSHIP AND HOLY COMMUNION AUGUST 27, 2017 WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS * Congregation Standing PREPARATION FOR WORSHIP Lisa Badley Blessed Assurance RESPONSIVE CALL TO WORSHIP* Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care. -Psalm 95:6-7 INVOCATION HYMN OF PRAISE* Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah

GUIDE ME, O THOU GREAT JEHOVAH

PROFESSION OF OUR CHURCH S FAITH* I believe in God the Father Almighty; Maker of Heaven and Earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. -The Apostle s Creed GOSPEL READING Mr. Hardie Perritt Matthew 20:20-28 INTERCESSORY PRAYER HYMN OF FAITH* Before the Throne of God Above GIVING OF TITHES AND OFFERINGS

Make our hearts a submissive to Your leadership. Clear away all the obstacles in us that hinder Your reign. We ask Your forgiveness for the unbelief, unforgiveness, and pride that make us stubborn and hard to lead. We ask this for Your glory and our good in Jesus name. Amen. (Hear now our silent and individual prayers of confession)
