WELCOME Westminster Presbyterian Church is a covenant family of believers called by God to fulfill His purposes here in Laurel, and as a staging ground for worldwide kingdom growth where we seek to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ to fill the earth with disciples, subdue it redemptively for God s glory, and worship Him joyfully. We are being redeemed and equipped by the Spirit to build up one another until the Lord returns.

Mike Allen Good Followers of Good Leaders Hebrews 13:7-21 CORPORATE AND RESPONSIVE CONFESSION OF SIN God of all comfort and Father of tender mercies, grant us to truly mourn over our sin, knowing that You never fail to comfort us. Make our hearts a submissive to Your leadership. Clear away all the obstacles in us that hinder Your reign. We ask Your forgiveness for the unbelief, unforgiveness, and pride that make us stubborn and hard to lead. Take us by the hand and lead us to Jesus, for He bore all our sin in His body when He died on the tree, so that we might know Your everlasting comfort. ANNOUNCEMENTS Evening service begins at 6pm. We will continue our series Good Questions. This evening s good question is: What is an elder? Please join us for a time of praise, fellowship and study of God s Word. Congregational Meeting: Immediately following this mornings worship service we will have a congregational meeting for the purpose of nominating candidates for the offices of elder and deacon. Please make every effort to be present. Mother's Morning Out is available to all members and is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30-3:30 for children ages 5 and under. The cost is $10 a day per child. If you are interested in utilizing this program, please be sure to bring a lunch, change of clothes, and a labeled cup for your child. CPR Certification: Saturday, September 9th, we will host a certification class through the Red Cross. This class will cover Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR and AED. Class will begin here at the church at 8 that morning. We ll have an hour break for lunch and conclude around 2:30-3 in the afternoon. Upon completion, your certification will be emailed to you. If you are interested in participating in this class, please let Kristen know. We only have 8 remaining spots available! Ladies Bible Study meets on Wednesdays at 6:15 in room 7. We re studying 2 Peter. Bring your Bible and a notebook. Evening Circle will meet on Tuesday, September 5th at 6pm at the church. Nursery will be provided. Those wishing to use the nursery should let Rebekah Simpson know no later than Sunday, September 3rd. All ladies interested in attending are welcome. If you have questions, please see Rachel Jones or Denise Morgan. Morning Circle will meet on Tuesday, September 12th in the Fellowship Room at 10am. Ginny Traylor will be leading us in a study of the book Destined for Glory: the Meaning of Suffering by Margaret Clarkson. Copies of the book will be available for purchase through the church office for $10. Luncheon Circle will meet on Monday, September 11th at Noon at the home of Barbara Gatlin, 2040 Briarwood. Jane Martin will lead us as we continue to study our book When Trouble Comes. We will be studying chapter 7 - Now Is My Soul Troubled this week.
