If you could please get your donations in by the 24 th of November that would be appreciated! Change in date of the November UCW meeting - due to another function the UCW meeting has been moved to Tuesday November 19 th at 12:30 in the parlour. It will resume to the normal 2 Tuesday in December. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Next Sunday November 24 th we will be blessing our prayer shawls. Please bring in any shawls that you may have ready. Thank you to everyone who has contributed shawls, this ministry has given great comfort to very many people. Call office 526-6077 if you need more information. 2014 Envelopes if you have not picked up your envelopes they are on the small table at the front of the sanctuary on the west side. Pledge Cards have been mailed to everyone, your assistance in filling them out and returning to the office as soon as possible is appreciated. This information helps us to work on our budget for the 2014 year. 2014 Committee Budgets your assistance in getting your 2014 budget into the church office as soon as possible is appreciated. Disabled parking: the four staff spaces at the side of the church are available on Sundays for anyone who has a disability and requires closer parking! Please be thoughtful of others by only using this space if you are in need! Helping our Veterans: In response to last week's sermon, Karen has received a number of requests for a letter to be prepared for members of the congregation (should you choose) to send to our Prime Minister, Minister of Veteran Affairs and our local Member of Parliament in response to the changes to Veteran benefits. The Canadian Ombudsman for Veteran affairs has filed a lengthy scathing report calling on the government to immediately make changes. If you are interested we have letters and envelopes that you can sign and send. **You will need to sign your name and put in your address at the bottom of the letter. On the envelope you will need to fill in the return address in the appropriate area, with your name and address. There is no postage required when letters are sent to our federal

government elected officials. The letters are available in the parlour and/or downstairs for those joining us for coffee following the service. It is also available by email as well. Christmas Season Food Drive on Sunday November 24 th, Dec 1 st and December 8 th. The shelves need to be filled to provide through the winter months. Please count your many blessings and give to those in need. All donations of food will go to the Salvation Army food bank. Your donations of Non-perishable items are greatly appreciated. Each year we purchase them from the Children s Community choir and it is a fundraiser for the choir. If you would like to purchase a poinsettia in memory of a loved one, or just purchase one for yourself, please contact the church office at 705-526-6077 or stpaulsunited@rogers.com. 6 Poinsettias are $8.00 8 are $16.00 & 10 for $25.00. All orders for poinsettias need to be in the office no later then Thursday Dec 5 th. The colours offered are pink, white and red. Christmas Newsletter: The deadline for getting in your reports and poems, stories to the church office is Monday Nov 18 th. The newsletter will be ready for Sunday November 24 th! Choir - Practices have begun for the choir Cantata to be presented on December 22 nd. Start time for those wishing to join the choir for this amazing Sunday worship service is 8:00pm, Thursday evenings. Practice Schedule: regular choir 7pm guests 8pm Nov 14 th, Nov 21 st, Nov 28 th, Dec 5, and Tuesday Dec 10 th Dec 19 th Saturday Dec 21 st 9:30am extra practice and Sunday Dec 22 nd presentation of the Cantata at 10am. Christmas Concert Session is fast approaching and here are a few of the upcoming concerts here at St. Paul s: Nov 30 th Serenata Concert at 7:30pm cost is Adults $20, Students $15, Georgian Bay Brass. Tickets available at Johnstone s Musicland. Special guests Georgian Bay Brass. Sunday Dec 1 st : - 7pm Children s Community Choir concert. Adults $10, Senior/Students $8 tickets at the door. Sunday Dec 8 th at 7pm An evening of Christmas Carols with Victoria Thompson and friends. Tickets, Adults $15 students and children 18 and under free admission. (doors open at 6:30pm.) Tickets available at Johnstone s Musicland. The interim minister at our sister United Church on Christian Island would appreciate any donation of plastic or wood hangers (no metal ones as they rust and mark clothes) as well as donations of winter clothing for all ages. They will be opening their thrift store in the church there next week. Donations can be dropped off at our office during office hours.
