THE WEEKLY CONNECTION ONE IN JESUS REACHING MANY! Week of April 8, 2018 WORSHIP CELEBRATION With all the challenge, pain and struggle that continues to play out in our world today, what a contrast it is to come together knowing that sin, evil and death has ultimately been defeated by our God! We are so glad you are here today! May the peace of our Risen Savior bless you and your family as we gather to worship and celebrate the true reason for Easter! Christ is Risen! He is Risen indeed! NEW EASTER WORSHIP SERIES SET TO BEGIN! Do you keep track of how many steps you take each day? For many of us, thanks to motivating new technology, fitness tracking has become nothing short of an obsession! But did you know that the true message of Easter and our Savior s resurrection can also impact our steps as well? Come back and join us next week, April 14-15, for the start of a new four-part worship series entitled NEW STEPS based on Colossians! While physical exercise is important, don t miss this opportunity to get spiritually healthy as well! HOLY BAPTISM Today, Sunday, April 8, at the 11:00 AM Traditional Priase service, we celebrate the baptism of Ruth Hannah Paradise, daughter of Jennifer & Jason. My God richly bless her and her family! BIBLICAL DISCOVERY NO SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES will be held TODAY Sunday, April 8. As our local schools take Easter breaks and spring breaks, our volunteer teachers are taking a little break as well. Sunday School will resume on Sunday, April 15. SACRIFICIAL GENEROSITY CAMPUS MASTER SITE PLAN RENOVATION AND EXPANSION PROJECT UPDATE SAVE THE DATES! With the Rochester City Planning Commission preliminary approval behind us we are continuing to make progress with this important project for our future as a church and school. This approval gave us the go-ahead we needed to get back to work with interior architectural design that will better inform the financial feasibility study of the project in prayerful preparation for an upcoming congregational decision set for Sunday, May 20 at 12:30 PM. To help us together gain discernment for this important meeting, two identical Congregation Forums will occur on Wednesday, May 2 at 7:00 PM and Sunday, May 6 at 12:30 PM. Watch for more details coming soon including a new FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) email that will help explain in greater detail where we are at in the process. While it is nothing short of amazing to realize the response to God's faithfulness as so far we have received pledges totaling over $3,451,000 toward the ONE Legacy initiative, we are still prayerfully hopeful the Lord may continue to provide further pledges. Keep in mind this project isn t just about our local campus and ministry. True to our missional focus as a church and school, we have committed to passing along a 10% tithe of these pledged resources to further God s kingdom through our local, national and global mission partners as well! To learn more about making a pledge to the ONE Legacy initiative, please visit www.stjohnrochester.org/one-legacy-pledges or stop by the One Legacy display in the Atrium. Let's keep praying that all future decisions we make together will be truly according to the Lord's will in these amazing days! If you haven't yet seen the most recent rendering of the Campus Master Site Plan, visit www.stjohnrochester.org/one-legacy or stop by the One Legacy display in the Atrium.

COMPASSIONATE SERVICE MEXICALI MISSION TRIP UPDATE Our Mexicali mission team of students and adults returned on Friday night after an amazing week of serving as the hands and feet of Jesus in Mexicali, Mexico. While there they served churches and built relationships with people of all ages, whether working on construction projects, helping to lead VBS, or sharing the love of Jesus during a variety of activities. Thanks be to God for the team s wonderful service and witness to the Mexicali people, for His protection during their travels and activities, and for the great support of the whole St. John family! TIME TO PRAY AND SERVE! NOMINATIONS BEING ACCEPTED! "The greatest among you is the one who serves." These humble words of Jesus set the tone for what it means to be great in the Kingdom of God. Taking on a leadership role at St. John as a member of the Vestry, Elders and Foundation is about humble service to Jesus and others. Nominations are now being accepted for individuals to serve on Vestry, Elders and Foundation. Please pray for those whom you know that may be a blessing to Christ's ministry at St. John and if He leads you to do so, complete a nomination form (in church lobby by tract rack, or in pastoral office) and submit to the office by April 9. What an incredible opportunity at a very exciting time to use the talents that God has blessed us with, to make a difference in furthering His work!

RELATIONAL WITNESS THE POWER OF THE SHARE BUTTON! Have you ever been in worship and wished someone you know could have heard the message from God s Word that day? If so, did you know it s actually really easy to share weekend sermon messages with others via email, Facebook, Twitter, etc.? Simply visit our St. John webpage at www.stjohnrochester.org, and click on the MESSAGE icon to go to our video and audio sermon message archive. Select the sermon message you want to send out and simply click the share button, select how you want to share, type a personal message of introduction and send it! It s pretty much that simple! Imagine how the Lord might use that simple step of relational witness! WE WOULD LOVE TO PRAY FOR WHATEVER IS ON YOUR HEART. To submit a prayer request, please text or email it to prayer@stjohnrochester.org at any time or fill out a Prayer Request Card and hand to an usher during worship. These requests are received by our pastors and are passed along when requested to be included in the weekly prayer list that is sent out to our prayer warriors and included in weekend worship.
