So, let us sing and be happy no matter what our circumstances are, and we too can be lifted up, and hopefully we will encourage others in song.

Lines from Larry: Belief Beyond Understanding In this last chapter John tells us our resurrected Lord appears to many, the disciples have gone back to fishing, and Jesus makes a special effort to reach out to Peter. Throughout the gospel we have seen the repeating question, do you believe? With Peter, the follow-up is, do you love me? And will you be my love in serving others? Much has been made by some who study Greek language that Jesus uses different words for love here each time He asks. And Peter uses a different word than Jesus does when he answers. But language aside, suffice it to say Jesus asks the question over and over because Peter's love is not perfect, regardless of the word choice. Peter is definitely one of us, and how Jesus calls him to grow in belief, love, and service is what he wants for all of us. The truth is, Jesus calls us to believe with a small faith that moves mountains. He commands us to love in the self sacrificing way He loved us. We, like Peter, could doubt whether Jesus accepts us in light of how many times we have let Him down. But the good news is, Jesus keeps on calling us to believe in Him, and to love Him by serving others in His name. It's not about us. It's all about Jesus. Forget your past failings. Put your doubts aside. Jesus paid for all our failures - past, present, and future. It's a simple instruction: Follow Jesus. As our reading of this gospel comes to a close, don't miss the questions Jesus asks of you: Do you believe in me? Do you love me? Will you serve others for me? Where He leads, let's follow! send Lars cards new address: Address available at the office (cell & e-mail are the same) Fiancé of Lars C.
