Come and Rest The Lord Jesus calls you to come and to pray, to listen and to seek the Holiness of His presence. To receive the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist! Lord s Kitchen Please keep the OLG volunteers in your prayers as they serve the meal at the Lord s Kitchen. The meal will be served on Monday September 24 th. Choir After careful consideration, it has been determined that the current positioning of the choir at 12:00 pm (and other) Masses is not optimal for musical and community related reasons. As a solution, the choir will be repositioned in the pews to the left of the organ, along the wall, beginning with the first Sunday in October. This transition will allow for better musical communication and foster a closer relationship between the congregation and the choir during mass. Please see our Music Director Matt with any questions or input you may have. Bingo Phone To our Bingo players: you can once again call directly for Bingo information and reservations at 203-375-2005. We Need your Help! As summer is ending and vacations are over, we need your help to maintain a balanced parish budget. We missed your donations while you were away! Can we count on you to make-up your missed donations? Face of Prayer The Face of Prayer recently launched phase two of its campaign to create an interactive video catechism based on the questions and concerns of young people. Visit www.thefaceofprayer.com to view over one hundred and forty questions answered by Bishop Frank J. Caggiano and other bishops, priests, religious, and lay leaders across the country. Be sure to also join the movement by texting PRAY to 55778 to receive daily prayer alerts on your phone. Just Visiting? Please use our Welcome envelopes located in the pews when attending our parish. We would enjoy putting your name on our active list. Handicapped Parking The four spaces directly in front of the Church on Second Hill Lane are handicapped parking spaces. A Stewardship Moment for the Twenty-Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time In today s Gospel, we learn that the disciples of Jesus had been discussing among themselves who was the greatest. Jesus is about to turn their idea as well as our society s idea of greatness upside down. He embraces a child and tries to help the Twelve understand that to be great is to be focused on something other than themselves. Jesus teaches that true greatness lies in being a good steward of those who are not great: welcoming one who is not viewed as great by our society s standards, like the child, the innocent, the vulnerable, the suffering, those who are outside our comfortable circle of family, friends, companions and colleagues, those who need a welcome. Jesus redefines our notion of greatness. How do we define greatness? Is our notion of greatness consistent with the teachings of Jesus Christ?
