Sarah was christened on Saturday 31st of August by her uncle Monsignor Joseph Murphy who welcomed her into e Christian fai at Stuake Church, Donoughmore. God Bless you Sarah. Sympay We wish to express our sympay to Mrs. Margo Bolster and family on e dea of her aunt, Mrs. Doroy Kingston (nee Bolster)of Cappoquin. Also we sympaise wi e Daly family on e dea of Doroy (nee Kerr) to her daughters Helen and Patricia and e wider family circle. On Tuesday 17 September we held our opening service. Thank you to Canon Eine for taking e service and also to Mrs. Susan Buckley for playing e organ. A special ank you to e members who helped wi e window for e Mallow Harvest. It was great to be able to promote e Moers' Union work. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday 15 October at 8pm. Mary St. Leger Mewis will be out guest speaker. She will demonstrate how to make a collage. Members are welcome to bring old buttons, bits of fabric etc. to make up eir own collage. It will be an evening of fun and creativity. Everyone welcome. Also on e night we will have e Moers Union literature for sale. MU Wave of Prayer is on e last week in October. Mallow's allotted time is 12noon on Wednesday 30 October. So e normal Wednesday morning service will be at 12 noon and not at e usual time of 11am. This service is open to everyone and will include e moers union wave of prayer. John writes: Harvest Festival at St. James has come and gone for is year and what a great occasion it was to see so many people giving anks to e Lord after having such a wonderful year, we have a lot to be ankful for. We all know people are finding times very hard but we have to be grateful for what we have, e good times will come again. Rev. Edwin Hunter spoke of is in his address about giving anks and not to worry, it was great to see him back in St. James. Our Harvest is year was celebrated wi Holy Communion and having The Clerks Choral leading e singing really enhanced e service making it very inspiring. The Clerks Choral were very impressed wi e decorations and said what a display it is a very big undertaking and I am very grateful to all e people who decorated e windows. It was great to see e Moers Union represented is year, ey do great work (ank you members) Our school children sang eir hymn beautifully wi eir teacher at e organ. She has told me ey hope ey can keep up e tradition doing eir harvest scene it is always much admired. The dahlias were beautiful. I must not forget our Africian friends bringing eir offerings to e Holy table what a display of colour proceeding up e aisle ey really complimented e windows. Several people remarked at ey were so colourful. The Church was full. The collection is going to Vincent de Paul and No 1 School two deserving causes. We have a new helper assisted wi e flower arranging in St. James only for him I would never have got it completed and I must say it was all very rewarding. Thanking you again to all e people involved and to our Canon Eine for preparing a lovely service and e printing of invitations for me, people have to be contacted. Thanks to e ladies for providing e refreshments it was all delicious. Looking forward to seeing you all at Doneraile and Castletownroche is mon. Dates on e newsletter for e Harvest Festivals.
