Who We Are What We Believe Village Green is a family centered church committed to meeting the needs of our congregation while seeking to expand our outreach in compliance with the Great Commission. We are intentionally inclusive and desire to be known as a friendly church. We are a multi-generational, multi-ethnic church welcoming everyone and recognizing our strength comes from diverse cultures and traditions. We believe in allowing worshipful expression by all ages. It is not unusual to see teens and older elementary age children participating in the worship service as members of the worship team or as a soloist. We encourage creative expression as worship and welcome participation by our creative arts team, The POWER Company. Village Green is a member of the North American Baptist Conference. (NABConference.org) The church has been established for over 50 years and has approximately 180 members and regular attenders. What We Believe 1. We believe that the Bible is God s Word given by divine inspiration, the record of God s revelation of Himself to humanity (2 Timothy 3:16). 2. We believe in the one living and true God, existing eternally in three co-equal persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. 3. We believe that God created man in His own image to have fellowship with Himself and to be a steward over His creation. 4. We believe that salvation is an act of redemption by Christ of the whole person from sin and death. 5. We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, of which Christ is the head, and that all who believe in Him are members of this Body. 6. We believe that God, in His own time and in His own way, will bring all things to their appropriate end and establish a new heaven and new earth. Click Here for More About What We Believe
Multiple Worship Venues Village Green offers two different worship opportunities. Our Tapestry Service meets in the Sanctuary and is the larger of the two services. It is the original service and would be considered the more traditional of the two. It includes a full worship band and generally three to four vocalists. There are four worship teams that alternate worship leadership. We also offer a live Spanish translation in the Tapestry service. A volunteer worship director coordinates the service. Meeting at the same time in another room is our Mosaic Service. It is smaller and more interactive. It includes one or two musicians with the worship leader. The Pastor s message is shown via video as it is being presented in the Tapestry Service. Our Mission One Vision. One Time. One Place. Two Opportunities to Glorify God in Worship
Outstanding Children s and Youth Programs KidsQuest KidsQuest is directed by a part-time Children s Ministry Director and includes nursery through 5th grade. Along with an outstanding Sunday school program and a caring and compassionate nursery, Kids- Quest features a mid-week program as well. For many years we have run a Pioneer Club program. This fall we will be returning to AWANA. Revive Student Ministries Under the direction of a parttime Youth Pastor, Revive Student Ministries is an active and vibrant program. Built on a strong emphasis of Bible teaching, both the Sunday school hour and the mid-week meetings are well attended. As with all successful youth programs Revive seeks the unique blend of important teaching and just plain fun! POWER Co Creative Arts Team The POWER Co. (Puppet Outreach Working for Eternal Results) began as a puppet ministry over thirty-five years ago, but now incorporates many different forms of the creative arts in their programs. Organization The staff Ministry Director, Children s Ministry Director, Care Coordinator, Administrative Assistant, and Custodian all report to the Senior Pastor. There are three primary elected church boards The Governing Council, The Administrative Group, and the Deacon Group. The Governing Council is the primary church board charged with overseeing the Spiritual life of the church, long range planning, and coordination of the other two elected boards. Typically the Senior Pastor has been an active participant on this board. The Administrative Group is charged with the day to day operations of the church. This includes overseeing the church finances, the facilities, and all of the other teams. The Administrative Group works with the teams to identify goals and needs which are then reviewed by the Governing Council for inclusion in the budget. In addition the Administrative Group s role is to carry out decisions made by the Governing Council. The Deacon Group s mission is to care for the church body and encourage a sense of inclusion throughout the congregation. The Group carries out its mission through various prayer opportunities, encouragement, visitation, practical assistance such as meals, errands and financial assistance, and through recognizing and assisting with significant life events. The Care Team and Stephen Ministry assist the Deacon Group in its efforts. The Deacon Group hosts several events throughout the year to encourage fellowship among the congregation. The Deacon Group also serves communion on a monthly basis.
