Peace & Global Witness This Offering joins Presbyterians together as active peacemakers; enabling the church to promote the peace of Christ by addressing systems of injustice in our own communities and across the world. Twenty-five percent of the Offering will stay with our church, to do peacemaking close to home. This coming Sunday, World Communion Sunday, we will dedicate your donations and the Noisy Offering to the Peace & Global Witness Offering. Special envelopes are available in each pew, or write Peace and Global Witness Offering in the memo of your check. If you or your child would like to take part in our World Communion Flag Processional this coming Sunday, please meet in the Narthex of the Sanctuary (back of the big church) at 10:00 a.m.

Sunday mornings at 9AM On Sunday, October 7 th, Susan Stabile will join FaithTime! for Adults with a discussion on Praying as Jesus Taught Us. We will pick back up on Sunday, October 21 st with Dr. Bob Hilgers, Think Globally, Act Locally. Visit the information desk to pick up a FaithTime! for Adults class list through December. The need there is greater than ever, so, as a Wonderful Wednesdays mission project, the youth will be assembling hygiene kits to send to Loaves and Fishes, Houston, for their clients. What can you do to help? Drop off any of the following items in the baskets outside the office from now until 10/17. Monetary donations are also appreciated. Please contact Gina Struensee or the church office with any questions. Supplies For Hygiene Kits: One gallon slider zip lock bags Toothbrush Toothpaste Emory boards Soap (regular size) Hand Sanitizer Unscented deodorant Individual wet one s Shampoo (reg. size) Comb Chapstick Washcloth Ball point pen Small notebook (5x7)

Pare Down Your Food Container Collection Looking to get rid of a few of your food storage containers? Bring them to the church. We use these containers to send leftovers home with members or to bring meals to homebound members or shelters. Please be sure all containers have no warps or cracks and a tight fitting lid. Carol J. Chouinard October 8, 1954 September 28, 2018 We extend our sympathy to the family of Carol Chouinard, who passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018. Imagine my surprise when a different video was shown. Actually, surprise doesn t do justice to how I felt when I realized the video instead was about 20 years with you at First Presbyterian Church. There are so many people to thank for the time they spent, behind the scenes, planning and rolling out the celebration. So let me just say a big THANK YOU to everyone for making this such a meaningful and heartfelt event. It is hard to believe that 20 years have gone by. So many stories, so many events, so many memories flooded through my mind as the video was played. For our entire family it has been and continues to be a blessing to be with you and to travel together through all of the ups and downs of life. Thank you again for a very special day, the cards, gift, and luncheon. Harvestfest Volunteers Needed Harvestfest takes place on Saturday, October 20 th, 9:00 a.m. to Noon with fall foods and lots of fun activities for the kids. The Membership Committee is seeking volunteers to help bake treats and/or help out during the event. Contact Jim Kading (jxkmjk@gmail.com) for a list of food needs or if you would like to volunteer for the event.
