RE NEWS (Continued) 'Guidelines on Reverent Reception of Holy Communion' The Bishops Commission for Liturgy, and our own Bishop Michael McKenna, have issued a set of 'Guidelines on the Reverent Reception of Holy Communion'. These guidelines are offered to encourage sincere reverence in that special moment of sharing and receiving the Body and Blood of Christ. The guidelines are divided into three main sections, each offering principles and directives on how to encounter Christ with reverence, care and humility: 1. Guidelines for Extraordinary Ministers of Communion (Special Ministers of Communion selected by the Parish Priest - other than those admitted to Holy Orders) 2. Guidelines for Communicants (those receiving Holy Communion) 3. A Catholic Way of Receiving Holy Communion The full copy of these guidelines have been placed on our Skoolbag site. We ask families to read through these guidelines carefully and direct any questions or clarifications to your Parish Priest. During Week 10, Year 3 participated in Bicycle Safety Day. Children came to school with their bicycles and helmets ready to learn all about how to make sure their bikes were roadworthy and helmets fitted correctly. We had many fantastic parents who assisted us on the day. The day concluded with an obstacle course around the school and everyone totally enjoyed the day. 7
