He will celebrate his first Mass the next day, on Sunday, May 27, 2018, at 12:00pm, in St. Augustine Church, 381 North Highland Avenue, Ossining NY 10562. We celebrate Mother's Day, our youngsters' First Holy Communion, college graduations, and the Memorial Day Ceremonies. I would like to thank everyone who attended the Social Dinner for our Seminarians. The turnout was great, and your support was appreciated. I would also like to thank the following people who made our catered wedding reception a success. To Tommy Tompkins for booking, John Gorman for setting up, Ricky Nadeau and Jimmy C. for bartending, Ron Kolwalczyk for Matre D' duties overseeing the servers, and Jim O'Connor for assisting in the kitchen. Please keep an eye on the calendar for events that we will need some assistance. As we all know, the front of our building is in dire need of maintenance. Volunteers are greatly needed, no experience necessary. Please contact Tommy Tompkins or myself. We will be having a Wireless Buzzer Trivia Night on May 26th. Registration begins at 8:30AM with a shotgun start at 9:00AM. Enclosed is this year s application for the Golf Tournament. At the conclusion of the tournament, a nice dinner will be served at Msgr. Loughlin Memorial Hall (home of Wappingers Council #1646), 2660 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls NY 12590. In the event of a rain delay or for weather updates call (845)486-9112 for instructions; but, unless it is pouring, we will play (talk to Vince Jr.). Our council is participating in the team effort by selling Charity Drive raffles. All net proceeds to benefit The Shrine of Our Lady of Martyrs, in Auriesville. A $5 donation will give you a chance to win $500 in a drawing to be held at the Charity Ball; 2nd prize $300; 3rd prize $100; 4th prize $100. You need not be present to win. You can also be a part of the action by attending the Charity Ball! The evening of dinner and dancing will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018, in Wappingers Council #1646, 2660 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY. It will begin at 6:30pm. James Mortillaro, FN Brother Sir Knights and friends, We were honored to receive the Civic Award for the 2016-17 fraternal year. We received this for outstanding implementation of patriotic programming faithful to the principles of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus. Thank you for your service to our Church, our Order, and our country. Let s keep up the good works! Our Color Corps participated in the Mass for the deceased members of the Knights of Columbus on April 15, 2018. Thanks to SKs Lou DeFelice, Ray Strohm, and Bill McCord for joining me in Color Corps regalia. Thanks also to the Columbus Club President, SK Rick Nadeau (who is also a council officer), for attending the Mass. Thanks, also, to the other Knights who were participating in the Mass for our honored dead. I attended the annual meeting of the NY State Council (AKA the NYS Convention ). While I was there as the council s Alternate Grand Knight Delegate, I looked forward to news on initiatives and programs relevant to our 4th Degree assembly. Wappingers Knights of Columbus will distribute rosary beads to the children receiving their First Holy Communion from St. Mary s School, as well as the Religious Education Program. At the 4th Degree Exemplification banquet in May 2016 The 4th Degree Exemplification will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the Crowne Plaza Suffern- Mahwah, in Suffern NY. Coincidentally, this is Armed Forces Day. If the weather is bad, we have offered use of the hall to the American Legion and the VFW for the service. Please remember the clothing donation shed in our rear parking lot.
