On Monday, some of our St. Rita School alumni and Admissions staff from Our Lady of Mercy and McQuaid High Schools came to visit the Fifth Grade class. Students enjoyed hearing about these Middle Schools and their academic programs, clubs, and sports teams. + Wednesday was our school s monthly Liturgy celebration. Mrs. Farley s Fourth Grade class led the school in a beautiful service which many parents and family members attended. This Mass is open to all! Following the Mass, our Fourth Grade class and their guests were invited to a small reception in their classroom. + Friday morning many students lay asleep all snug in their beds past 8:00am, the official start time for St. Rita School. Students enjoyed the day off while teachers attended Professional Development Workshops on this Superintendent s Day. Training and education is always continuous for our St. Rita School faculty. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * The St. Rita Society invites you to their next event! Exploring the Cobblestone Trail Wednesday, October 17 at 12:00 Noon - in Room 1 Guest Speaker: Doug Farley Ridge Road or Route 104 begins in Lewiston in Niagara County and runs east along Lake Ontario toward Rochester and beyond. This road has the unique distinction of having the most cobblestone structures built on it than any other highway in America! Cobblestones were deposited near the shoreline and in the fields after the glaciers retreated from Western New York. Between 1825 and 1860, more than 1200 cobblestone structures were built in North America and 90% of them are within 75 miles of Rochester. Come and join us for a leisurely drive down Ridge Road in search of these cobblestone buildings. You may recognize some of them! All are most welcome to attend and refreshments will be served. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Our Parish Offices will be closed on Monday, October 8 th for the Columbus Day Holiday.

Clothing Presented by Stein Mart in Pittsford Plaza. Our Charity Beneficiary this year is: Blue Star Mothers of Rochester. The annual Catholic Ministries Appeal (CMA) allows each of us the opportunity to support real needs throughout the Diocese and to grow and expand to meet the challenges and opportunities of strengthening our faith. Money raised by this campaign funds programs and ministries that offer support as we provide faith formation programs for our youth, give support to families, the elderly and the infirmed, help Catholic schools, encourage religious vocations, honor marriage and prepare engaged couples, by spreading the Gospel through communications media. St. Rita Church directly benefits from the support of the CMA to provide services that we d be pressed to supply on our own. Every gift is needed and important. If you did not receive a mailing from the Diocese, information is available in the back of Church. Go online to the Diocesan website to view this year s video at www.dor.org and to make your donation. You can make your gift by credit card if you like. If you have changed parishes please be sure to indicate St. Rita Church #327. Thank you all for what you ve done to help make our wonderful St. Rita Parish a vibrant faith community. Thank you for all your prayers and support!
