Cold Springs Preschool is open for registration for the 2018-2019 school year. We have a wonderful, caring preschool and would love the opportunity to have your 1-5 year old enrolled. A registration form is on our website coldspringsumc.org, then click the preschool tab. Please call 704-782-1875 and Carol Hendry, the Preschool Director, will be happy to schedule a tour or answer questions. M.Y. Heart's ministry is collecting supplies to make blessing bags for the homeless. These items include such things as pocket Bibles, travel shampoos, conditioners, soap, and other necessities. A green bin is located under the mailboxes in the hallway behind the sanctuary and in the narthex. A list of other items are located on the flyer at these collection bins. If you have questions about this new outreach, email Julie Love at jaxandcb@yahoo.com. Current need: Cinch-sack (drawstring backpacks) and Deodorant Idols aren t always what you think. We often think of idols as ancient graven images or golden calves, but God s people still battle idolatry every day. Our idols look more familiar money, fame, power, work, ministry, and people. We serve these gods above the one true God and miss the unrivaled joy of following and knowing Jesus Christ. In this study from Kelly Minter, learn to identify the gods you may be unknowingly serving and the lies they tell you. As you dethrone your modern-day idols, you ll be set free for the abundant life Jesus gives. You ll discover Jesus can do what no other gods can do. Ladies please join us each Wednesday from 9:00am 11:00am beginning Wednesday, September 19, through Wednesday, November 14, 2018 for Kelly Minter s study No Other Gods. The deadline to sign up for this study is Sunday, September 9, 2018. You may sign up on the attendance sheets in the bulletin, by calling the church office at 704-782-1811, by calling Kay Jones at 704-720-0864 or 704-467-7597, or emailing Kay3tom12@carolina.rr.com. The cost for this study will be approximately $14 for the study book. We will be meeting in Conference Room #2. If you know of someone who would be interested in attending this study, please invite them to join us. The September Fountain is now published and available on the church website www.coldspringsumc.org, Newsletters/Bulletins.

All the Places to Go How Will You Know? A Study for Men and Women Congratulations! Today is your day. You re off to Great Places! You re off and away! (taken from Oh, the Places You ll Go! By Dr. Seuss) Although we will not be studying Dr. Seuss book, we will learn all about the places God has for you to go! God has placed before you an open door. What will you do? Rarely in the Bible does God command someone to stay. Instead, He opens a door and invites us to walk through it into the unknown. And whether we stay or go will ultimately determine the kind of life we will live and the kind of person we will become. But it s not just one door. God places lots of open doors in front of us every day. For those who recognize them and choose to walk through, life becomes a divine adventure. And those who don t? Well not only are they missing out on a lot of incredible adventures and experiences, they re missing out on all the amazing work God wants to do through them! In this study by John Ortberg, he will show us how to: Recognize divine opportunities in daily life Overcome the fear of missing out or of making the wrong choice Walk through open doors with confidence God has an amazing adventure planned for you. All you need to do is walk through that door and sign up for this study!! Join us on Thursday evenings beginning Oct. 11 th (6:45-8:15pm) for this 6-week study. This study is open to all men and women. The deadline to sign up is Sun. Sept. 30 th. Cost of the Participant Guide is $7.00. You may sign up on the attendance sheet, contact Angela Sidden at the church office, or contact Kristine Lewis at 704-791-6783 or kristinealikat@outlook.com. Please prayerfully consider participating in this study! You never know the places you can go!! Kid, you ll move mountains! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So get on your way! Dr. Seuss
