Cold Springs Preschool is open for registration for the 2018-2019 school year. We have a wonderful, caring preschool and would love the opportunity to have your 1-5 year old enrolled. A registration form is on our website coldspringsumc.org, then click the preschool tab. Please call 704-782-1875 and Carol Hendry, the Preschool Director, will be happy to schedule a tour or answer questions. M.Y. Heart's ministry is collecting supplies to make blessing bags for the homeless. These items include such things as pocket Bibles, travel shampoos, conditioners, soap, and other necessities. A green bin is located under the mailboxes in the hallway behind the sanctuary and in the narthex. A list of other items are located on the flyer at these collection bins. If you have questions about this new outreach, email Julie Love at jaxandcb@yahoo.com. Current need: Cinch-sack (drawstring backpacks) and Deodorant In the narthex, you will see an Apple Tree with many apples hanging, ready to be picked! Please pick the apples and return the supply written on the apple to our Preschool as they begin their school year and are needing to stock up on the many necessary items. You may return the items to the narthex or the back hallway by the mailboxes. Your support of our Preschool is very much appreciated!! Thank you!
All the Places to Go How Will You Know? A Study for Men and Women Congratulations! Today is your day. You re off to Great Places! You re off and away! (taken from Oh, the Places You ll Go! By Dr. Seuss) Although we will not be studying Dr. Seuss book, we will learn all about the places God has for you to go! God has placed before you an open door. What will you do? Rarely in the Bible does God command someone to stay. Instead, He opens a door and invites us to walk through it into the unknown. And whether we stay or go will ultimately determine the kind of life we will live and the kind of person we will become. But it s not just one door. God places lots of open doors in front of us every day. For those who recognize them and choose to walk through, life becomes a divine adventure. And those who don t? Well not only are they missing out on a lot of incredible adventures and experiences, they re missing out on all the amazing work God wants to do through them! In this study by John Ortberg, he will show us how to: Recognize divine opportunities in daily life Overcome the fear of missing out or of making the wrong choice Walk through open doors with confidence God has an amazing adventure planned for you. All you need to do is walk through that door and sign up for this study!! Join us on Thursday evenings beginning Oct. 11 th (6:45-8:15pm) for this 6-week study. This study is open to all men and women. The deadline to sign up is Sun. Sept. 30 th. Cost of the Participant Guide is $7.00. You may sign up on the attendance sheet, contact Angela Sidden at the church office, or contact Kristine Lewis at 704-791-6783 or kristinealikat@outlook.com. Please prayerfully consider participating in this study! You never know the places you can go!! Kid, you ll move mountains! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So get on your way! Dr. Seuss The October Fountain is now published and available on the church website www.coldspringsumc.org, Newsletters/Bulletins.

Desserts are needed for the BBQ/Brunswick Stew sale on Saturday, October 28. If you can provide a dessert (or 2 or 3!), please do! So we may know what to expect, please indicate on your attendance sheet if you will be able to provide dessert. Thanks! It's time to stir stew again! We will be stirring all day Friday, October 26th and Saturday, October 27th. Also, help is needed on Friday to help cool down the stew. You can contact me by e-mail pandj102001@yahoo.com or text/phone 704-792-6342, or indicate your availability on the weekly attendance sheet. Thank you for your help! Paula Faggart Annual BBQ/Brunswick Stew Please mark your calendars for the 65th Annual Cold Springs Barbecue/Brunswick Stew Saturday, October 27. Every person is needed to make it successful. If you do not have a work area, please contact Chairperson Tim Hurlocker or Vice Chairperson Troy Barnhardt. This is not a one day event, but a week long event and help is needed in all areas. Good fellowship is guaranteed. WALK TO END ALZHEIMER'S I want to thank each and every one of you that contributed to the Walk to End Alzheimer's by making a baked item, monetary donations, walking with my team or simply showing support for the cause. My team #FaithInFaye raised $1,400 total for the Alzheimer's Association! We could have not done it without you! Thank you so much for your time, love and prayers over a cause that is dear to my heart, and I know to many others in our church and surrounding community! Cynthia Isenhour Lustgarten Foundation Pancreatic Cancer Research Auction The canvas paintings in the back of the church (on the bulletin board at the restrooms) will be auctioned off on October 14th, with a silent auction. The auction will donate all money to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research. Gracie Cook painted the lovely pictures for the board and would like to auction them off in Memory of Liz Kluttz, who was a member of our church and a dear friend to Gracie. If you are interested in any of the paintings they will be in the back for display along with auction sheets to place your bid. Bidding will close on Oct.14th after the traditional service ends. Winners will be contacted following the closing! Good luck and thank you in advance for remembering Liz Kluttz in such a special way!
