The primary purpose of the Patriotic Degree is to foster the spirit of Patriotism by promoting responsible citizenship, loyalty to the country and the love of God. The basic unit of the fourth degree is called the Assembly, headed up by the Faithful Navigator. Fourth Degree Knights are referred to Sir Knights, and they may choose to join the Assembly Color Guard which serves as a honor guard at civic and religious functions. Color Guard are readily identifiable by their regalia, ( uniforms) consisting of tuxedo, plumed chapeau, cape, sword and white gloves. Degrees The Assembly is looking for 3rd Degree Knights, in good standing, to join the Assembly. The Assembly is also looking for Fourth Degree Knights who are willing to join the Color Guard. Our Council will be looking to promote our First Degree Knights and Second Degree Knights to the Third Degree. This will give them the option of joining the Assembly as a Fourth Degree Knight and then joining the Color Guard. If you are interested in joining the Assembly and meet the 3rd degree qualifications, please advise the Grand Knight and he will submit your name to the Assembly for consideration. I really like studying the Code of Canon Law and learning about our rights and obligations in the http://www.kofc10904.org/ 4
Church. I have a better understanding of concrete ways to surrender to Christ through the norms and laws of the church. I also continue to minister as a hospital Chaplain. I enjoy the supportive and spiritual interaction with patients. I participate in liturgy, prayer and adoration with my mission community, and I attend a Chicago parish. I also make time for spiritual reading, meditation, tennis, piano and exercise. The Spring semester begins in February. I have to submit a proposal to my 2 year overseas training. I'll probably be assigned to East Africa-Kenya and Tanzania. Once I leave in July, I won't be able to return home for 2 years. I hope that we can stay in contact when I'm overseas. Thank you for the seminarian fund. The money really made a difference to me this year. God bless your family, the Knights, Sacred Heart and your ministries. Peace.
