He has IgA nephropathy (Berger s Disease), which is a kidney disease. This disease has a genetic factor to it as his father, Deacon Michael Carucci, also suffered from it. Please continue to keep Fr. Carucci in your prayers. He has been approved for a kidney transplant at UAB Medical Center and they work with three different types of donors: Deceased donors, Live donors and Donor Pairs.
