Let s work together and see if we can match the buildings to the outlines on the wall. (Do activity.) Great job! There are many different buildings on the wall. (Point to each building as you identify it.) I see a grocery store, a library, a school, a house, a post office, and a Temple. The Temple was kind of like a church where people could go to learn more about God! After the Activity: It is very important to tell people all about God and His Son Jesus. Jesus rocked, because He did what God wanted Him to do. And you know what? You can do what God wants you to do too! Who can do what God wants you to do? CHILDREN and SGL: [Bottom Line] I can do what God wants me to do! SGL: Again! Who can do what God wants you to do? CHILDREN and SGL: [Bottom Line] I can do what God wants me to do! SGL: You sure can! Because God made you to do good things! It says so in our new Bible verse. Listen to this. (Open Bible to memory verse card.) God made us to do good works, Ephesians 2:10. Did you hear that? God made YOU to do good things! Doing good things rocks! Is sharing a good thing? (Pause.) Yes! Is saying kind words a good thing? (Pause.) Yes! Is being a good friend a good thing? (Pause.) Yes! Learning our Bible verse is a good thing too, so let s stand up and say it together with the motions. Just say what I say and do what I do. (Lay Bible down.) CHILDREN and SGL: God made (point both hands up) us to do (point to others and yourself) good works (thumbs up), Ephesians 2:10. (Open your hands like a book.) (Repeat the verse with the motions several times together.) SGL: And kids who do good things ROCK! Right? (Pause.) Right! Now it s time to write in our prayer journal. (Point to picture of Jesus.) God wanted Jesus to tell people about Him. Jesus was still just a kid, but that didn t stop Him! Jesus did what God wanted Him to do and that rocks! God wants you to tell people about Him too. Let s make a list of people you can tell about God under this picture of Jesus. When we pray we can use our list to ask God to help us tell them. When I say your name, tell me one person to write in our prayer journal. (Write each child s name and what they say beside their name. Remember to print the words they say so the children can recognize their names and the letters.) Thank you! This is a great list. Would anyone like to pray before I pray? (Give each child who wants to pray the opportunity to do so.) Now I will pray. Prayer SGL: Dear God, thank You for all of my friends who came to church today. I think they rock for coming to church so they can learn more about how much You love them. I pray that You will help all of us tell others about how much You love them. Help [child s name] tell [person s name] and (repeat with all children and the people they listed). We want to do what You want us to do. We love You, God. In Jesus name, amen. Make It Stick 1.
