ALIVE IN OUR HEARTS, WE REMEMBER THEM So many of our deceased spouses, partners, and friends are gone but not forgotten by our community. We will be starting a column to commemorate our loved ones by printing their names in our bulletin during the month of their passing. Anyone who would like to memorialize their loved ones beginning with the June bulletin may do so as follows: Submit the name, date of passing, and a check for $2.00 (per name) payable to Hadassah no later than two months prior to the month to be printed. Multiple listings of names and dates can be submitted for the entire year. Place into Hadassah Box 19.??? Diane Altman 860-1193. CELEBRATE YOUR SIMCHAS WITH HADASSAH S NEW SIMCHA CAKE By purchasing a candle on our new Simcha cake you can share your simchas with all of us at our general meeting. Your simchas will be announced at the monthly meeting and will also be included in our monthly bulletin. The cost of a candle will be $2 which will be used to offset costs for refreshments. Watch for it starting at the April meeting. Did you receive the raffle from Hadassah in the mail? This regional fund-raiser raffle supports the Hadassah Hospital and our chapter. Credit for submitted raffles helps us fulfill our quota. Please participate. If you can volunteer to help set up refreshments at our monthly meetings, we meet at 6:30 at Congregation Beit Shalom, please call Maxine Stern to help @609-395- 8757 I am Joy, the Label Lady. I want to thank the 160 members who receive our bulletins by email. Why are we happy that 160 members get the bulletins by email? Because they save us money. It costs anywhere from $1.00 to $2.00 a mailing per member depending on the number of pages. We have 600 members. At only a dollar an issue, that is $600. Now we save $120. If we only sent out 6 issues, we save $720 per month. But the annual cost of 6 issues @480 pieces is still $2,880. The annual cost of sending out 12 issues via regular mail is $5,760. If you don t have email, then what I am going to say next, does not apply to you. I asked several members why they don t want the bulletin on the computer and I received the answer that they like to hold the bulletin in their hands. I told them to print the bulletin from the computer. Do you know how much it costs to print an issue of 8 pages? It is 1 to 2 cents a page. So, an issue would cost you at most 16 cents. If you don t want to print the whole bulletin, just print the Save the Date page. That would cost you 2 cents. We have to pay the printer for each page, putting the pages together, making the bulletin and folding it for mailing. Then there is postage After the Bulletins are printed someone (Sheila) has to pick them up from the printer, bring them to Ella s house where some nice ladies have to put 3 stickers on each bulletin opening. At 480 issues, that is 1440 stickers and 480 mailing labels. Then someone has to take the bulletins to Freehold to be mailed because the Monroe Post Office doesn t handle bulk mail. So please think of asking to be put on our e-mail list. Call me at 609-409-8380 or send me an e-mail at joyk08@comcast.net See Page 6 for form to sign up!!!
