Welcome to Padstow Baptist Community Church! Thanks for joining us. We are glad you are here. Our prayer is that while you are with us you connect with God and find encouragement and rest. From the Pastors His master replied, Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master s happiness! Matthew 25:23 It seemed so insignificant. Someone from our church walked up to me when I was about 19 years old and asked if I would be part of a prayer ministry called Effective Weapon. Cool name right? I had no idea what it meant to be on a leadership team in a church, I had no idea how to pray, I felt totally ill equipped to do anything for God. But I said yes anyway. Over the next few years I learnt to pray, I was constantly challenged in my faith as I kept saying yes to whatever God would put before me. Those yeses were never easy, but God grew me every time I took a step of faith and entered into the next challenge. What seemed to be an insignificant yes 27 years ago and all the subsequent yeses have grown and shaped me as a Christian and as a leader. Only God can take our small yeses and build on obedience to change lives for eternity. The significance of Peter s decision to follow Jesus wasn t noticeable immediately. Yet that decision is still impacting us today. The importance of David developing his skills with a slingshot while caring for his father s sheep was insignificant until he was facing Goliath. Yet that act of faith is still instilling courage for us to step into battle, knowing the victory belongs to the Lord. Don t despise the small things. One faithful yes can change history and eternity for the Glory of our God. Where in your life is God asking for a yes right now?
