One Year Bible Intercessors... Today Is Palm Sunday! Blessed is He Who Comes In The Name of The Lord! "Jesus Enters Jerusalem on Palm Sunday" (Watercolor by James Tissot, circa 1896-1902) You can read the Gospel accounts of His Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem: Matthew 21:1-11, Mark 11:1-10, Luke 19:29-38 and in John 12:12-15. In the Gospel of Luke, you will find as Jesus came to the descent of the Mount of Olives on Palm Sunday, He was overcome with emotion... "Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it..." ("The Triumphal Entry" Luke 19:37-44 NKJV)

(Painting by Enrique Simonet, 1892) "He Saw the City and Wept Over It" Later that same week, He lamented again over Jerusalem... "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!'" ("Jesus Laments over Jerusalem" Matthew 23:37-39 and "Better to Trust God than Man" Psalm 118:26 NKJV) This is the Week of Lent and the Week of Passover... Thursday, April 2nd, is Maundy Thursday, the Christian Observance of the Lord's Supper and His Agony in the Garden...The word, "Maundy means "Command," in Latin, and refers to the command to "Love and serve one another," that Jesus gave to His disciples at the Last Supper

"Jesus Meets His Mother" (Watercolor by James Tissot, circa 1896-1902) And, a poignant rendering of those He may have seen from the Cross... You will see the Roman Centurion to the left, and it is said that Mary Magdalene, to whom much was forgiven, is prostrate at the foot of His cross...

"The Crucifixion Seen >From the Cross" (Watercolor by James Tissot, 1890) And, this Saturday, April 4th beginning at sundown, is Pesach/The Passover. The Jewish Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread is observed for eight days, ending on Saturday April 11th at sundown. This Week's Daily Passover Readings:

Friday, April 3rd Ta'anit Bechorot or "Fast of the Firstborn," Erev Pesach/Feast of Passover Morning. This fast commemorates the salvation of the Israelite firstborn during the tenth plague God sent to kill all of the Egyptian's firstborn, man and beast. "And it came to pass at midnight that the Lord struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of livestock." ("The Tenth Plague: Death of the Firstborn" Exodus 12:29 NKJV) Unlike most Jewish fast days, only firstborns are required to fast on Ta'anit Bechorot, the Fast of the Firstborn. Torah Readings: Exodus 32:11-34:10 includes: "The Gold Calf," "The Command to Leave Sinai," "The Promise of God's Presence," "Moses Makes New Tablets," and "The Covenant Renewed." "The Plague of the Firstborn" (Painting by J.M.W. Turner, 1802)

Friday, April 3rd Erev Pesach/Passover Eve Torah Readings: Exodus 12:1-13:14 includes: "The Passover Instituted," "The Tenth Plague: Death of the Firstborn," "The Exodus," "Passover Regulations," "The Firstborn Consecrated," "The Feast of Unleavened Bread," and "The Law of the Firstborn." Saturday, April 4th Pesach/Passover Day 1, and Matzot/Feast of Unleavened Bread - Day 1. Torah Readings: Exodus 12:21-51 includes: "The Passover Instituted," "The Tenth Plague: Death of the Firstborn," "The Exodus," and "Passover Regulations." Haftarah (Prophets) Readings: Joshua 5:2-6:1 includes: "The Second Generation Circumcised," "The Commander of the Army of the Lord," and "The Destruction of Jericho." Maftir (Concluding) Torah Reading: Numbers 28:16-25 includes: "Offerings at Passover And, next Sunday, during Passover, Easter Is Celebrated on April 5th! Thank you for continuing to pray for God to be glorified in America, Israel, and throughout the whole world and universe that He has created!

May He be glorified and thanked for His Son's Gift of Eternal Life. And, may all truth be revealed and justice be brought for the Honor of the Risen Lord! "Therefore, do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known." ("The Twelve Apostles Are Instructed" Matthew 10:26 NKJV) In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen. For Those New to Our One Year Bible and Torah Readings...Welcome! Editor's Note: This ministry, One Year Bible and Torah Readings, belongs to the Lord. It is one of encouragement that is provided through the reading of His Word recorded in the Bible and in the Jewish Torah Readings, Praise God. You will have respite from graphic and violent news accounts here. Our mission is to encourage and provide a Godly refuge for intercessors from the negative effects of the world's calamities through the daily reading of His Word and weekly Torah. May You be Blessed, and Thank You for joining us on this journey and taking Godly refuge in His Word! The following Scripture is our wish to you as fellow intercessors, that God will meet all of your needs as you serve Him. Amen. "Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray.

Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing Psalms. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." ("Meeting Specific Needs" James 5:13 and 16 NKJV) For our faithful intercessors and readers, we have developed a "One Year Bible and Torah Readings Letter," with an attached amplified weekly Sunday-Saturday "One Year Bible" Word document that includes One Year Bible Scripture references, as well as their chapter headings. About six years ago, to learn more about our Judeo-Christian roots, we added into the existing "One Year Bible" weekly letter, the traditional Shabbat Torah/Old Testament and Haftarah/Prophets Readings read by observant Jews worldwide. We also include the Brit Chadashah or New Testament Readings read by Messianic Jews. This easy-to-use format gives us a "heads-up" for daily Scripture readings, and tells us what the weekly Shabbat Torah readings are for Friday and Saturday. We can read and pray through the Bible and Torah readings, and compare their teachings to world, national, state and local headlines; as well as to situations in our daily personal and business lives! Again, attached to this letter is this week's "Word" document of One Year Bible Readings amplified with chapter headings. As the Lord leads, I have highlighted key verses in purple...his color of royalty. God Is So Good!

In closing, I pray that you will be blessed as you read God's Word in His "Amplified One Year Bible" and in His Messianic Torah, Haftarah/Prophets and Brit Chadashah/New Testament Readings. I pray that our combined prayers, covering America, Israel and the Whole World that He has Created, will help establish God's Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven! I ask that God will richly bless all who read and pray with God's Word. I ask God to bless the faithful who pray for America, Israel and the Whole World that He has Created, in the Day and Night Watches! And I pray, that God will bless all who follow His Leading and His Word... May many be added to His flock daily, for His Glory, until Jesus Returns! In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen.
