2017 November - December Page 3 From the PR s Quill Jerry E. Gonzales, 33 Greetings to our Scottish Rite family! Hello Brethren, Friends, and Families, hope this news letter finds you in good health and ready for the holidays. As you know the holiday season is upon us, with many things to do. As the year comes to a close, let us not forget we in the Scottish Rite as well as other Masonic Bodies, have much work to do to close out the year; from election of officers, to final celebrations, to sharing with our families our love and joy for the blessings we have encountered throughout this past year. I would ask in all the joyous celebrations that we forget not those less fortunate than ourselves and please find in your hearts to find time to give to them in some way, be it, Toys for Tots, Salvation Army, Inviting a Service Person into your home for dinner, or whatever charity you find fitting in your heart to support. Please remember what Masonry is about; not only Brotherly Love and Affection, but caring for our fellow man, so I would ask you to give from your heart to those in need. Your election committee, composed of the four heads of bodies, has completed the work on the nominations for the upcoming year which will be presented at the November stated meeting for voting in December. There are still vacancies in the lines and committees and we may be calling upon you to consider a chair in the Valley. Please support your Valley and think about a position to support our craft. We are truly in need of men who desire to hold a chair in our bodies; not a lot involved but some effort and attendance is needed. Please think about taking a position in our line. There is still time to step up before our installation in January. We have had minimal support or interest in either VMAP or the future of the Valley. Without the support of our members the future of our Valley may be in for some change or perhaps even folding. I encourage all those who care to please be forth coming in your ideas and support to keep our Valley alive. We have but a few options left, either find members willing to lead, or reduce our Valley to a Club which only operates in the 14th degree, or fold and merge with a neighboring valley. The choice is ours to make, not mine but ours as a continued to page 4

2017 November - December Page 4 From the PR s Quill (continued from page 3) group. I am looking for guidance and interests into where our valley will be in the coming years. Our next meeting is approaching and I am looking forward to having dinner with all of you. Please make your reservations in a timely manner News of the Valley Two of our members have been invested as Knight Commanders of the Court of Honor: Brothers James L. Craig, 32, and Earl Williams, 32 (see cover). They received their or plan to pay an additional fee for dinner. I truly thank you for your continued support. God Bless, and Hope to See You at Dinner! Ill. Jerry E. Gonzales 33 http://www.venturascottishrite.org/ http://www.scottishritecalifornia.org/ honours on September 23 in San Diego. We have a new member, Michael B. Satumba, who received his 4 th and 14 th Degrees on October 20, courtesy of the Valley of San Fernando. Welcome, Brother Mike. Buy an Axxess Book, Enjoy Bargains, while Supporting the Language Clinics Everyone loves their Axxess Card!
