After much prayer and discussion, the 10 parishioners who comprised the committee this year decided to disperse funds to sister parishes who were harmed by Hurricane Harvey. We distributed $80,000 to eight parishes which the archdiocese identified as needing assistance beyond what insurance and archdiocesan funds could provide. After visiting each parish to verify the need, the committee presented their recommendations to Fr. Francis, who approved them. Photos of the challenges faced by each parish will be shown after the 7:30, 9, and 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. Masses on August 19. And, the choir from St. Benedict the Abbott will be joining us to sing at our 11 a.m. Mass that day in gratitude. Please keep these parishes in your prayers as they strive to rebuild. Below are the parishes we assisted and how they will use the money. 1. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel - Sound system, liturgical books and hymnals 2. St. Augustine - Electrical station 3. St. Benedict the Abbott Rebuild rectory, add gates to improve campus security 4. St. Christopher Rectory and school roof and ceiling repair 5. St. Francis of Assis - Marian altar for chapel, electric piano, photocopier 6. St. Gregory the Great - Classroom interior repairs, furnishings for rectory 7. St. Joseph Baytown Resealing school windows 8. St. Pius V - Church organ repairs If you are interested in making St. Cecilia your parish home, we welcome you and invite you to stop by Room 204 of the Community Center after the 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. Masses. All are welcome! Our next Welcoming Sunday is August 19th. Welcoming Sunday Meet Fr.
