Message from Our Chaplain HUMILITY AND FORGIVENESS DURING LENT AND BEYOND If you are too "Proud" to ask for "Forgiveness", the Word of God directly addresses You. Yes,"YOU." Bearing in mind that our relationship with God is not complete without a good relationship with our brothers and sisters, you cannot step on your brother/sister and then move on to God to accept YOU [your Offering (Matt 5: 20-26)]. It doesn't work. For God, the union you seek with him must first be "shared" with your "Brother/Sister". Drop the ego. Drop the pride. Drop the arrogance. Go back. Say I am sorry to him/her; accept his/her apology (Lk 17:4). Then, let the anointing of his/her "forgiveness" lead you back to God, as yours lead him/her to back to God. only then will your "worship and service to Jesus and His church" as Knight be meaningful and accepted by God. Meanwhile, Let us not forget our call to charity and need to connect with God (prayer). Fr Charles. Message from Our Grand Knight Giving up something for Lent fosters self-discipline and tempers our desires. It is a form of fasting. It is a form of penance. It promotes spiritual growth. If you're giving up something for Lent, that's great. But think also about the possibility of doing something positive to bolster your spiritual life and make the world a better place. Look for ways that you can increase your knowledge of your faith, strengthen your spiritual life or perform special acts of mercy and kindness at home, at work, in your parish or in your community. At our February general meeting our Worthy District Deputy Jesmond Tabone presented The Columbian award to myself and Former District Deputy Bill Demers. I would like thank our Executives and the members who helped our council to achieve this award. We celebrated Shrove Tuesday February 13, at O.L.O.G. hall we had a good turn out. I like to thank Bro John Pawlowski for chairing this event, and thank you to all our Bro Knights and all the students that came out and helped. On February 24, we held our 2nd annual Pig Roast for O.L.O.G. Parish we had great turn out for this event. I like to thank P.G.K. Jesmond Tabone for chairing this event with Bro Jim Faubert, and thank you to all our Bro Knights and all the students that came out and helped. Brothers last year we did not have enough volunteers to sell the State Lottery Tickets at the malls. This year your Grand Knight is asking our Brother Knights to purchase a book of 10 tickets for $50.00. Or you can split the cost of a book of 10 tickets with family members or friends. We only have 40 books total for our council to sell. Please Contact G.K. Trevor Thomas at 519-995-0857 or Bro John Pawlowski at 519-944-6710 Lastly our District 39 5 th annual Cancer Centre Foundation is being held of April 14 at St. Theresa Parish hall. This is a fun event as always tickets are still available at a cost of $30 each. Great prizes are available especially West Jet. Come out and have some fun. Contact Bro John Pawlowski at 519-944-6710 for tickets. Fraternally yours Trevor Thomas Grand Knight

**** Notice of Motion *** There is a Notice of Motion to be vote on to donate $1000 to to the Windsor-Essex Cancer Foundation and present the cheque at the Multi Council District 39 Annual Fund Raiser on April 14 at St Theresa Hall at 1991 Norman Rd. Message from Our District Deputy Worthy Brothers Now is a good time to build a strong second half of our fraternal year by continuing to focus on membership recruitment and program excellence. With Lent approaching I ask that you encourage your members and their families to engage in spiritual practices of the Holy season by actively participating in one of our Building The Domestic Church programs and strengthening our Parish programs. In particular I encourage brother nights and their families to attend Good Friday services this year. For Supreme March is the featured month for the church recruitment drive I encourage you to do a church drive if you have not yet done one this year. If you require recruitment material please go to Knights Gear and order them. Please work with your Chaplin to ensure that the church drive is successful. If you require my assistance I would be more than happy to assist. Fraternally yours Jesmond P. From our Director of Vocations & Seminarians What is discernment? Dear brother Knights, As we begin our Lenten journey, we are also preparing ourselves for the next Come and See Discernment Retreat on the weekend of March 2-4 th at St. Peter s Seminary. The weekend is geared to men 17 years old and up, who are discerning their vocation in life. All Catholic men benefit from these weekends, even if they are not called to the seminary for further discernment of the priesthood. But what exactly is discernment? Fr. Timothy Gallagher O.M.V., a well known spiritual director, describes discernment as the process of having the courage to be spiritually aware, understand, and act upon God s will in one s life. And so, with God s grace and with the wisdom of the saints and doctors of the Church, we are called to be aware of the movements in our hearts, understand them, and then take action. Often, we can fall in the trap of two extremes: 1) acting upon impulse without prayerful discernment, or 2) ending up in a state of perpetual discernment with no action being taken to move towards God s plan for us. The Come and See weekends encourage young men through an experience of seminary life, prayer, instruction, and fraternity, to gain the confidence required to take the next step in following Christ. I would encourage our brother Knights to invite a young man from your own parish to the next Come and See weekend, and to benefit from this discernment. Joy and peace are the two fruits of any discernment, and wouldn t it be great to have more of these two gifts! With my prayers, Fr. Patrick Bénéteau Director of Vocations and Seminarians Diocese of London Upcoming Bingo Dates: at March 5-Mon-10:45 pm-12:45 am - Mike & Bill March 5-Mon-12:45 am to 2:45 am - Mike & Bill March 22-Thurs - 6:45 pm - 8:45 - Rheal & John P April 5 - Thur 10:45 pm - 12:45 - Rheal & John P April 19 - Thurs 6:45 pm - 8:45 pm - We are in need of volunteers to help work 2 hours at a bingo session. Working these sessions are not like they used to be. The work is very minimal. If you are able to help please contact Bro.
