ROTARY CLUB OF JIMBOOMBA Issue 14 15/10/2017 BOOM TOWN GAZETTE Hello guys. PRESIDENT Ray McCabbin RAMBLINGS Well, we made the trek to Harrisville to join our Rotary friends for the first dinner meeting of Group 8, District 9640. Despite a few late scratchings, every club was represented, the host club was pleased with the over-all attendance and, importantly, it didn t cost them any money. Scott and Cara Champion were gracious hosts and made everyone feel welcome. Following the meal, there were two presentations by members of the Beaudesert Rotary Club. The first speaker was Peter Aldridge who talked about skin conditions adversely affecting many people in the Solomon Islands. John Mann then spoke about Beaudesert Rotary Club s Cambodian Project. Jimboomba members were pleasantly surprised by a generous donation, presented to us by President Sue from the Beaudesert Club, in appreciation for the use of our cold room at the Beaudesert Show. The Four Way Test Of the things we think, say or do; Is it the TRUTH? Is it FAIR to all concerned? Will it build GOODWILL and Better FRIENDSHIPS? Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned? I had a discussion with Peter Truer at Harrisville on Wednesday night and we are working on a date for him to attend one of our meetings and show us a power point presentation on his trip to Vanuatu. That s it for this week. Cheers, Ray
