The Levels of Sin, and how they operate within us. Transgression & Iniquity Part 3 Recap and closing out what sin, from part 1: Ex. 34:7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. 1John 3:4 Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression {1. Properly, the condition of one without law either because ignorant of it, or because violating it.} of the law. Num. 5:6 Speak unto the children of Yashra al {Yisrael/Israel}, When a man or woman shall commit any sin that men commit, to do a trespass against Yahuah, and that person be guilty; Num. 5:7 Then they shall confess their sin which they have done: and he shall recompense his trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the fifth part thereof, {sin takes you to the next level, transgression} and give it unto him against whom he has trespassed. What is Sin or what does it lead to? Transgression Unrighteousness No faith The opposite of good Foolishness Ceasing to pray for you Iniquity. {3. a deed violating 1John 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death law and justice, act of unrighteousness:} Rom. 14:23 And he that doubts is damned if he eat, because he eats not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. James 4:17 Therefore to him that knows to do good, and does it not, to him it is sin. Prov. 24:9 The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men. Impiety = lack of respect for Alahiym 1Sam. 12:23 Moreover as for me, Alahiym forbid that I should sin against Yahuah in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way: The next level from sin, is transgressions. Remember sin is transgression of the law. Transgression rebellion, (pě šǎʿ): n.masc.; Str 6588; TWOT 1846a 1. LN 39.34 39.41 פּ שׁ ע 7322 revolt, i.e., to rise up in clear defiance to authority (1Sa 24:12); 2. LN 88.289 88.318
crime, sin, offence, fault, transgression, trespass, i.e., what is contrary to a standard, human or divine, with a focus on the rebellious nature of the sin (Gen. 50:17) Hebrew meaning of Transgression: (1) A willful deviation from, and therefore rebellion against, the path of righteous living. Greek meaning of Transgression: To go beyond, overstepping the limits. Transgression is connected to trespass, which is a willful violation of the law. Gen. 50:17 So shall you say unto Yahuseph {Yosef/Joseph}, Forgive, I pray you now, the trespass of your brethren, and their sin; for they did unto you evil: and now, we pray you, forgive the trespass of the servants of the Alahiym of your father. And Yahuseph {Yosef/Joseph} wept when they spoke unto him. James 2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if you commit no adultery, yet if you kill, you art become a transgressor of the law. Is. 24:5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Job 34:37 For he adds rebellion unto his sin, he claps his hands among us, and multiplies his words against Al {El}. Iniquity,ע וֹנ ת ם,ע וֹנ ת יו,ע וֹנ (וֹ)ת pl. A crime, perversity. 1Sam. 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of Yahuah, he has also rejected you from being king. 1Sam. 15:24 And Shaul said unto Shamuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of Yahuah, and your words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. 1Sam. 15:25 Now therefore, I pray you, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship Yahuah. Sin, when repeated against the knowledge of Alahiym, becomes transgression or rebellion, which if it continues long enough, eventually becomes iniquity which perverts the flesh. This perversion changes the DNA/RNA structure of the flesh and beliefs or attitudes resulting in genetic changes that are passed on from generation to generation. This is the way high blood pressure, alcoholism, sexual perversions, jealousy, anger, fear, etc. are passed down from generation to generation. This is what runs in the family if you
will, more on this later. Ezek. 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. Psa. 51:9 Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Psa. 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O Alahiym; and renew a right spirit within me. Iniquity is an attitude so cannot just be covered over with blood. It must be taken away and replaced. Ezek. 28:14 You are the anointed cherub that covers; and I have set you so: you was upon the set-apart mountain of Alahiym; you have walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Ezek. 28:15 You was perfect in your ways from the day that you was created, till iniquity was found in you. Ezek. 28:16 By the multitude of your merchandise they have filled the midst of you with violence, and you have sinned: therefore I will cast you as profane out of the mountain of Alahiym: and I will destroy you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Ezek. 28:17 Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty, you have corrupted your wisdom by reason of your brightness: I will cast you to the ground, I will lay you before kings, that they may behold you. Ezek. 28:18 You have defiled your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities, by the iniquity of your trade; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of you, it shall devour you, and I will bring you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold you. Is. 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Is. 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and Yahuah has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Iniquities are not superficial. They are under the skin; they are deeply imbedded. Bruises and iniquities have to be healed by the blood. It would more of a blood transfusion. Your blood will no longer work. You allowed the sin to grow in you, to a point pass transgression. Jer. 3:8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Yashra al {Yisrael/Israel} committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Yahudah feared not, but went and played the harlot also. Jer. 3:9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks. Jer. 3:10 And yet for all this her treacherous sister Yahudah has not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, says Yahuah. Jer. 3:11 And Yahuah said unto me, The backsliding Yashra al {Yisrael/Israel} has justified herself more than treacherous Yahudah. Jer. 3:12 Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, you backsliding Yashra al {Yisrael/Israel}, says Yahuah; and I will not cause mine anger to fall
upon you: for I am merciful, says Yahuah, and I will not keep anger for ever. Jer. 3:13 Only acknowledge your iniquity, that you have transgressed against Yahuah your Alahiym, and have scattered your ways to the strangers under every green tree, and you have not obeyed my voice, says Yahuah. Jer. 3:14 Turn, O backsliding children, says Yahuah; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion: Iniquity was in there heart. They became unchanging. So much so that Yahuah divorced them. Another way of seeing iniquity is it can be the bending of truth. Sin can be intentional or unintentional. Transgression is an act of rebellion. Iniquity is taking that rebellion and bending it, changing it to your will, your definition. Lev. 26:27 And if you will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me; Lev. 26:28 Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins. Lev. 26:29 And you shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall you eat. Lev. 26:30 And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you. Lev. 26:31 And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odors. Lev. 26:32 And I will bring the land into desolation: and your enemies, which dwell therein shall be astonished at it. Lev. 26:33 And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste. Lev. 26:34 Then shall the land enjoy her shabbaths, as long as it lies desolate, and you be in your enemies land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her shabbaths. Lev. 26:35 As long as it lies desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your shabbaths, when you dwelt upon it. Lev. 26:36 And upon them that are left alive of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursues. Lev. 26:37 And they shall fall one upon another, as it were before a sword, when none pursues: and you shall have no power to stand before your enemies. Lev. 26:38 And you shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up. Lev. 26:39 And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them. Lev. 26:40 If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me; Lev. 26:41 And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity: Lev. 26:42 Then will I remember my covenant with Ya aqub {Ya aqob/jacob}, and also my covenant with Yatskaq {Yitsakq/Isaac}, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.
Sin trips us up, causes us to slip, to err, and to just miss the mark. Iniquity defiles our character. It gives us a crooked arrow to start with. Ex. 20:4 You shall not make unto you any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Ex. 20:5 You shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them: for I Yahuah your Alahiym am a jealous Alahiym, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; Ex. 20:6 And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Can you see how powerful iniquity is? We need to prayer for one another. We need to pray for our forefathers, and we see Yahuah will visit the iniquities to the 3 rd and 4 th generation. So it becomes generational. Gen. 4:13 And Qaiyn {Cain} said unto Yahuah, My punishment is greater than I can bear. James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasts great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindles! James 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. What does iniquity produce? Lev. 26:42 Then will I remember my covenant with Ya aqub {Ya aqob/jacob}, and also my covenant with Yatskaq {Yitskaq/Isaac}, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land. Lev. 26:43 The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her shabbaths, while she lies desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred my statutes. 1. To Despise His judgment, and causes their soul to abhor His statutes. 1Sam. 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of Yahuah, he has also rejected you from being king. 2. Stubbornness 2Sam. 19:19 And said unto the king, Let not aduniy {adoni} impute iniquity unto me, neither do you remember that which your servant did perversely the day that aduniy {adoni} the king went out of Jerusalem, that the king should take it to his heart. 3. Perversity Psa. 28:3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which
speak peace to their neighbors, but mischief is in their hearts. 4. Fork tongue. Smile in your face. Talk to you as though everything is ok, but in their heart is mischief Psa. 36:2 For he flatters himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful. Psa. 36:3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he has left off to be wise, and to do good. 5. Hateful Is. 32:6 For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practice hypocrisy, and to utter error against Yahuah, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail. 6. Practices hypocrisy. Ezek. 18:18 As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, spoiled his brother by violence, and did that which is not good among his people, lo, even he shall die in his iniquity. 7. Oppression and violence. Ezek. 33:13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousness s shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he has committed, he shall die for it. 8. Self-righteousness Dan. 9:5 We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from your precepts and from your judgments: 9. Wickedness and Rebellion Hos. 5:5 And the pride of Yashra al {Yisrael/Israel} does testify to his face: therefore shall Yashra al {Yisrael/Israel} and Ephraim fall in their iniquity; Yahudah also shall fall with them. 10. Pride Hos. 9:9 They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins. 11. Corruption Matt. 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity. morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand. 12. Lawlessness These are the top 12 definitions for Iniquity. These will prevent you from making it into the Kingdom Hab. 1:13 You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, and can not look on iniquity: wherefore look you upon them that deal treacherously, and hold your tongue when the
wicked devours the man that is more righteous than he? Now I would like to take all three {Sin, Transgression, and iniquity} a little deeper. 1. Sin primarily deals with the Soul, the mind/heart. 2. Transgression primarily deals with the body, your actions. 3. Iniquity primarily deals with your spirit, your attitude. 1Th. 5:23 And the very Alahiym of peace purify you wholly; and I pray Alahiym your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Master Yahusha Mashiyach. Heb. 4:12 For the word of Alahiym is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Closing thoughts 1John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 1. Lust of the flesh = Sin 2. Lust of the eyes = Transgression 3. Pride of life = Iniquity Gen. 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 1. Tree was good for food = Sin 2. Pleasing to the eye = Transgression 3. Desired to make one wise = Iniquity These three started back in the garden. The tree of knowledge or knowing good and evil caused a generations curse if not understood. The cure for this curse or condition is Law and Commandments of Yahuah. His word brings life. Not just physical life, not just peace with one another, but everlasting life. What needs to take place in order to be right in the Fathers eyes? Ex. 34:9 And he said, If now I have found favor in your sight, O Yahuah, let Aduniy {Adoni}, I pray you, go among us; for it is a stiff-necked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance. Psa. 25:11 For your name s sake, O Yahuah, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great. Jer. 33:8 And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me. Psa. 51:1 Have mercy upon me, O Alahiym, according to your loving-kindness:
according unto the multitude of your tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Psa. 51:9 Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Rev. 3:5 He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his malakiym {messengers/angels}. When you pray, these three things must be forgiven. Ask that they be pardoned, blotted out. In doing so remember we should also do the same for one another. Why? If we do not forgive their trespasses He will not forgive ours. If your desire to become a better person lets change the following: 1. Sin primarily deals with the Soul, the Mind/Heart. 2. Transgression primarily deals with the body, your actions. 3. Iniquity primarily deals with your spirit, your attitude. 1. Belief primarily deals with the Soul, the Mind/Heart. {Love Repentances forgiveness. This starts in you}. 2. What you read and the works of righteousness, deals with the body, your action. 3. The growth in His word, the Seed of Yahuah deals with your spirit, your attitude. Just in case one may have an issue with works, let me quote a few passages. John 10:37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. John 10:38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that you may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. Heb. 13:21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Yahusha Mashiyach; to whom be esteem for ever and ever. Amen. {See. Matt. 7:21 and Ps. 40:8. The Will of Yahuah is to keep His laws, His commandments}. 2Th. 1:11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our Alahiym would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. Rev. 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in Yahuah from henceforth: Yea, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them. Rev. 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before Alahiym; and the books
were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Rev. 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead, which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead, which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. Rev. 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
