We pray for the Canterbury Group Parish which serves four different communities of expatriates from different countries and denominational backgrounds. We pray for the Rector Chuck Reischman and for his wisdom and discernment needed, as they move the congregation into the future with the vision of Come, Grow and go. We give thanks for a ministry to children and young teens which is growing deep and wide, and that many parishioners are giving of their time and talents to disciple the younger 1

generation. Lord God, grant that this group would be united, renewed, and refreshed, and with one heart they would go deeper together into the love of Christ. In our own Parish of Paphos, with our three worship centres, we give thanks for the ongoing ministry of the Rev d Nic and the Worship Team; also that we have the promised ministries of two locums and their wives from mid-july until early November, both who have served us before and know all about our parish and its congregations. We continue to wish Nic and family well in their plans for their transition to new pastures and challenges. For further prayers during the week please go to our Diocesan Prayer Guide Booklet and also the Anglican Communion website: www.anglicancommunion.org/acp What s going on today and this week Sunday 22nd March - Passiontide begins 8.15am 9.30am 6.00pm Tuesday 24th March 10.00am Wednesday 25th March 9.00am 10.00am Friday 27th March 2.00pm Holy Eucharist (Rev d Andrew) - Ayia Kyriaki Holy Eucharist - (Rev d Nic) - St. Luke s Morning Worship - (Reader Trev Sait) - St. Stephen s Choral Evensong - (Rev d Nic) - Ayia Kyriaki Taking Steps in Faith Course - St. Stephen s Holy Eucharist (Rev d Nic) - Ayia Kyriaki Pastoral Care Team Meeting - St. Stephen s Clinic Visitors Team Meeting - St. Stephen s Exploring Prayer Workshop - St. Stephen s Coffee, Company, Craft and Chat - St. Stephen s Saturday 28th March 11.30am Taking Steps in Faith Course- St. Luke s Sunday 29th March - Palm Sunday 8.15am 9.30am 6.00pm Holy Eucharist (Rev d Nic) - Ayia Kyriaki Holy Eucharist - (Rev d Andrew) - St. Luke s Morning Worship - (Rev d Marian) - St. Stephen s Sung Eucharist - (Rev d Nic) - Ayia Kyriaki For the work of the Church - w/e 15th March 2015 Ayia Kyriaki: 326.70 Pledges: 170.00 Ayia Kyriaki Lent Collection 169.09 (Ash Weds. to 15/03inc) St. Stephen s: 364.00 Pledges: 177.00 St. Luke s: 115.00 Pledges: 20.00 Open Plate Total : 805.70 Pledges Total: 367.00 THIS PARISH OF OURS Duty Wardens for week Ayia Kyriaki - 8.15 a.m. Jacquie Hammond + week Ayia Kyriaki - 6.00 p.m. Jacquie Hammond St. Stephen s - Chris Fox St. Luke s - Catherine Elliott A Notice for our U.K. Visitors Gift Aid - The Anglican Church of Paphos, through the Jerusalem and East Mission Trust UK Endowment Fund, is recognised by the UK tax authorities as a registered UK charity. PARISH NEWS / LATEST NEWSLETTER The most recent Newsletter for the Anglican Church of Paphos was emailed on Saturday 14th March. Items in that Newsletter - also available on our website - include: Dates of Rev d Nic s last events & services in the parish News of Locum Clergy for the Parish later this year Details for Holy Week and Easter Parish A.G.M.: Preliminary Information Lent Giving: Our Lent Giving, this year, is in aid of the General and Eye Clinics run by Christ Church, Aden which is a part of our Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf: baskets and Lent Offering envelopes are available near the entrances of all three of our Worship Centres. Please do give as generously as you can to this worthy cause. Christmas Fayre Committee: " It was agreed at the recent roundup meeting on the 2014 Christmas Fayre that volunteers are needed to represent St Luke's and St Stephen's on the organising committee. Not only should this improve communications and spread the workload, but will hopefully result in new ideas to 'refresh and revitalise' the event which has now become 'tired and rather samey'. The subject was raised at the recent congregational meetings and I am pleased to report that two volunteers have come forward from St Luke's. Unfortunately, the request appears to have fallen on deaf ears at St Stephen's who remain unrepresented with nobody volunteering. The Fayre is our biggest annual charity fundraising event which also helps to promote and demonstrate the church's role within the local community. We need your help or the event is in danger of not taking place this year. To find out more or to sign up for the committee please contact me on 96620721 - I will be delighted to answer any questions. With enough people on board, I hope to hold the first committee meeting during the middle of April. Gerald Payne, Fayre Coordinator. " Ayia Kyriaki Choir: New choir members always welcome, visitors included. If interested, please contact Jane on 97751166. Help!! Would anyone be prepared to help me distribute posters for our Easter services around the hotels. I would very much appreciate help with the legwork. Thank you. Margaret Keeble 26422380/99533704. Women s World Day of Prayer - Apologies for missing the deadline for last week s WNS. I wish to thank all those people who attended, a special thanks to the people who helped co-ordinate the service, refreshments and, of course, those who volunteered to take 3

part. The amount collected was 199.72 which has been sent to the WWDOP centre in the UK. Chris Hoskins Thanks: On behalf of all three congregations of our Parish, we thank Margaret Keeble and Carole McCandlish for the beautiful fresh flowers prepared and given to every woman who attended services last Sunday, Mothering Sunday. Hilda Wilkinson and family would like to thank Rev. Nic, the Pastoral Care Team, the Prayer Support Team and our many friends who attended Ayia Kyriaki Church for the service of thanksgiving for Norman s life. Your presence made it a very comforting and memorable occasion for us all. Thank you. Our love and God s Blessings. Hilda and Family Coffee, Company, Craft and Chat: There will be NO Friday afternoon meeting on April 3rd which is Good Friday. Otherwise it is business as usual on Friday afternoons from 2p.m. at St. Stephen s and a warm welcome and delicious cakes are always on offer. If you have any left over craft resources or books etc. that you have no further use for, we would welcome those as we are planning another craft and coffee sale as soon as the weather warms up a bit more. More information is available from Mary Brown 99 863194 or email maryb42@hotmail.co.uk NOTICES FOR THIS WEEK and NEXT SUNDAY Ecumenical Bible Study: The Ecumenical Bible Study concluded the present session last Thursday, 19th March, and will resume the study of Luke s Gospel after Easter on a date to be announced. Recycled Cards: We shall be selling recycled cards at Ayia Kyriaki and St. Stephen s Churches TODAY Sunday 22nd March after the 8.15 am service and after the 11 am service. We shall have Easter Cards for sale and we look forward to your support. Many thanks, Sue and Lou. An Invitation to Explore Intercessory Prayer in our Sunday Services: We need additional people to lead intercessions at our services. Whilst you might feel you haven t the skills, we would encourage you to join a Workshop at which we will explore prayer, or rather how to prepare intercessions for a service. We hope that those who currently lead prayer will be present to give insights and help. To attend the workshop will not mean you have to commit yourself to join the team of people who currently pray in services, but we hope you will come with an openness to learn and to ask whether this is a way you can serve God and the church. We hope that following the Workshop you will stay to enjoy a simple buffet lunch.. The Exploring Prayer Workshop will be held on Friday 27th March from at St. Stephen s Church, Tala. For further information, or to confirm that you wish to attend, contact Rev d Andrew, Ann Bailey or Trevor Sait.
