God Bless America, In God We Trust Got a Lost Cause? Nothing is impossible for the patron of lost causes, St. Jude. Jude was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. In Scripture he is called Thaddaeus and is also known as Jude Thaddaeus. In icons, St. Jude is often shown with tongues of fire around his head representing the receiving of the Holy Spirit, along with other apostles, on Pentecost. After the death of Jesus, Jude preached the gospel and served the poor. He is believed to have been martyred in 65 AD and his feast day is October 28. Call upon St. Jude for an answer to what seems unanswerable in your life. Saint Jude, Hope of the Hopeless, Pray for me! National Bible Week A weeklong celebration of God's word The U.S. bishops' conference is encouraging the faithful to spend time with Scripture during National Bible Week, scheduled for Nov. 15-21.
