Let It Be Toled Prescott AZ Chapter An affiliated chapter of the Society of Decorative Painters Volume 20, Issue 10 October 2018 MEETING THIS MONTH IS THE SECOND SATURDAY, OCTOBER 13TH The year is quickly running away from all of us. It was great having Susan here for our seminar this year. As long as I have been painting, I learned some new things about painting and about JoSonja's paints. It is not too early to start paying Chapter dues for next year. Jo has volunteered to be on the nominating committee. So, when she contacts you, think seriously about running for an office or being on the board. Thank you for being involved by chairing a committee or being on the board. We may be small but we are mighty. Your President, Patricia Kaminsky

THE SEPTEMBER SEMINAR This year s seminar teacher was Susan Lockwood from San Jose, CA. We had 2 fun filled days of painting, learning, and laughing. Susie brought a gift for all who attended which is a hand painted gingerbread pin or can be made into a refrigerator magnate. It is really darling. On Saturday, we painted a summer themed design by Jamie Mills Price on a barrel stave that Susie and her husband Paul cut for us. The design had a lot of steps to it but Susie kept us on track and by the end of day some of us where either finished or close to it. We can also paint on the other side if we chose to. On Sunday, we did a Christmas themed design by Rosemary West. It is on a tray and is really sweet. This design and Rosemary s style is to do a lot of dry brushing so we practiced this before going to our surface. Susie shared her method of achieving this look. She also taught us a faux finish process using a candle and razor blade. Again, most either finished or where close to it. For those who could not attend, I m sure you will see a finished one or more at the October meeting or in the boutique. Thank You-Bev Morn
