From our Pastoral Coordinator Dear Friends, I hope that you are enjoying the change of seasons. Fall makes me long for quiet things like reading by the fire or good conversation with friends around the kitchen table over a bowl of hearty soup and warm, home-baked bread. Schedules get more structured with the fall, days get shorter, and weather is cooler. It s a good time to create new habits, and to introduce new routines into our lives. Perhaps it is a good time to introduce new habits in our faith lives too. In the Gospel today we hear Jesus focus on a child in their midst to instruct his disciples and it reminded me of something I ve wanted to share with you all. Every Monday, I have the pleasure of learning from several children in our parish through their contribution to the collection. When the ushers circulate the baskets at Mass, they make their offering on simple index cards. Through drawings and short message they share what they are grateful for, what they are praying for, or what they plan to do for others. I look forward to reading them every week. What a special opportunity to highlight for our children the important contributions that they make in our church, and in the world. This is a great way to help our young parishioners prepare for and participate in the Mass. Perhaps, in weeks to come, there will be even more messages to encourage our child-like faith. There are many difficult situations in the church and in the world that deserve our time and attention without doubt. But recognizing our gifts and finding moments of joy are good for our hearts, minds, and souls. Let s allow our children to lead the way. Let s continue to pray for one another, Marti Lundberg Week at a Glance Monday, Sept 24 8AM Mass 8:30AM Rosary NO COFFEE HOUR TODAY Tuesday, Sept 25 Church open for prayer until 2PM Wednesday, Sept 26 6:30PM Mass (MI) Harry Purpur Thursday, Sept 27 9AM Mass (MI) Miguel Salas 9:30AM Peaceful Crafters 7PM Choir Rehearsal Friday, Sept 28 Church open for prayer until 11AM Saturday, Sept 29 10AM Prayer Group Sunday, Sept 30 8AM Mass (MI) Carmen d Almada Remedios 10AM Mass (MI) For the People 4:15PM Reconciliation 5PM Mass STEWARDSHIP August YTD Offerings Budget $ 34,035 $ 33,578 $ 68,437 $ 71,353 2019 Fiscal Year Budget: $444,906 Thank you for your continued support! 2018 Annual Catholic Appeal Week21 complete of our $70K goal!
