INVOLVEMENT HELPS FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN by Linda D. Ruth MEMORY VERSE: Shortened verse PATRIARCHS #2 Abraham s Gift of His Son Romans 8:32 He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all... Can be sung to tune of Yankee Doodle. Underlined syllables go together. He that spared not His own Son, but de livered Him up for us all... (Repeat both lines.) BIBLE LESSON HELPS: Throughout Scene 1 Scene 2 Scene 5 Scene 6 Scene 7 Each time the word obey is used in the Main Thrust, have the children make a large O in the air. Say the word Obey together. Have children give a happy laugh as Abraham and Sarah did. Put a joyful expression on faces. Pretend to move with Abraham to find new grassland. Pack up tent. Move the animals along. Prepare for journey. Saddle donkey. Gather wood. Tie it into bundle. Load onto donkey. Pack sleeping mats, blankets, and food. Let one hand represent days, the other nights. Everyone puts up appropriate fingers as count, 1 day, 1 night, 2 days, 2 nights, 3 days. Have several children act as Abraham and say to the others, who are servants, Stay here. We will worship and come back. Half the group, as Isaac, asks with a puzzled expression, Where is the lamb? Other half, as Abraham, replies seriously, God will provide the lamb. Then switch roles. BIBLE LEARNING GAME: Sheep in the Bush Have children form a line across one end of room. Choose one child to sit at other end of room with his back to group. When you say, God, children in line begin to slowly move toward seated child, as if they are Abraham and Isaac climbing mountain. At some point, seated child calls out, Stop! Sheep in the bush! Everyone freezes. Seated child gets up and tags someone. That person becomes new one to sit. Others run back to starting line. Say, For Abraham and Isaac, God provided a sheep. For you and me, God provided His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross. Play again. CHILD EVANGELISM FELLOWSHIP OF EASTERN PA, INC. P.O. BOX 4375 HARRISBURG, PA 17111-0375

LEARNING ABOUT THE BIBLE & THE OLD TESTAMENT BOOKS WEEK #4 (Place figure #1.) This week, we will review the 27 books of the New Testament. We will begin with the Gospels. (Place figure #21.) Let s say them together: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John. (Place figure #22.) The Gospels tell us about Jesus special birth, life, ministry, death, and resurrection. After the Gospels, we have one book of History. (Place figure #23.) What is the name of this book? Acts. (Place figure #24.) The book of Acts records some of the activities of the disciples and the ministry of God the Holy Spirit. The next section of the New Testament is called Paul s Letters. (Place figure #25.) Paul was an apostle and missionary to many places, and God used him to write 14 letters. Let s see if we can remember all of them: Romans, First and Second Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, First and Second Thessalonians, First and Second Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews. (Place figure #26.) These letters were written to help the believers know how God wanted them to live. After Paul s Letters, we have the General Letters. (Place figure #27.) James, First and Second Peter, First, Second, and Third John, Jude. (Place figure #28.) These letters also tell us how to live for God. The last book in the Bible is called a book of prophecy. (Place figure #29.) It is Revelation. (Place figure #30.) This book tells about things that will take place in the future. I hope you will continue to practice saying the books of the New Testament. Next week, we will start on the books of the Old Testament. CHILD EVANGELISM FELLOWSHIP OF EASTERN PA, INC. P.O. BOX 4375 HARRISBURG, PA 17111-0375

GO AND TELL BOX Week #6 Information About the Snavelys INFORMATION (Suggested item to put in the Go and Tell Box a small stuffed, wild animal.) What do you think this little animal has to do with going and telling? (Let the children share their ideas.) There are many animals like this in other countries where missionaries go to serve the Lord. Mr. Mike Snavely was born and raised in South Africa, where his parents were missionaries. As Mr. Mike was growing up he had many animals as pets, including monkeys, birds, chameleons, and snakes. At one time, he had 13 snakes; two of them were cobras. Mr. Mike is married to Mrs. Carrie, who was born and raised near Hershey, Pennsylvania. (Show their picture.) They continue to live in their home in the Hershey area. Mr. Mike and Mrs. Carrie are serving the Lord as missionaries by sharing with children and adults, the truth about how the world was made. They teach about creation, as written in the Bible, just like we studied earlier this year in club. They speak at many schools, camps, and churches. Some of our missionary offering will be sent to help this missionary couple tell others about how God created the world. We will learn more about them later. PRAYER THANK God that Mr. Mike is helping people understand that God designed His wonderful creation and that evolution is not possible. ASK God to encourage many people to pray for the Snavelys and to give of their money so Mr. Mike and Mrs. Carrie can continue to serve the Lord. CHILD EVANGELISM FELLOWSHIP OF EASTERN PA, INC. P.O.
