Pastor Dan will be with the group leading worship at Stronghold on August 5th. Kits 4 Kids and You School starts in just a few days. That means so many of our community youth will need crayons, pencils, notebooks and so many more school basics. First Presbyterian will be helping supply some of these needs of local students. We are purchasing and delivering age and grade appropriate supplies in bulk this year...not the prepackaged kits we purchased and distributed for the past few years. Our PW will be providing a large supply of Kleenex for distribution to the PC classrooms. You may help in this cause of caring by (1) providing cleansing/disinfectant wipes and paper towels for our future generation (please leave donations in the Narthex on Sunday, August 5th or August 12th); (2) helping to deliver the supplies to the schools on Wednesday, August 15 at 9 AM (please sign up to help with delivery in the narthex). A N O T E F R O M P A S T O R Brothers & Sisters, August is here! As you may well know, August means coffee house worship! I am excited to worship with you once again in a more intimate, informal atmosphere. Let us never forget that where two or three are gathered in Jesus' name, He will be there. For wherever and however God's children gather, if they gather in Jesus' name then our Lord will be present. Worshiping together in a different space around tables gives us an additional opportunity to not only connect with God, but also with each other. We will have a three week sermon series during August focused on the Psalms while highlighting their communal nature. I regret to miss the first week of coffee house worship, but you will be in good hands with JD Buchenau preaching and Living Waters leading the praise singing. I will be in Oregon, IL the first weekend in August as I join our group of thirteen for a short-range mission trip where we will be helping support Stronghold Camp and their ministry for youth and families. Blessings in Christ, Pastor Dan July Session Summary We continued our leadership training with Pastor Dan. We rejoiced at the upcoming Stronghold Mission Trip in August. We approved the recommendation from Ministry and Administration to hire Paula Putnam. Our Finance Committee is in the process of streamlining our financial reports to improve readability. Our organ update is underway and we look forward to the completion in September. We referred to Evangelism Committee to look into the possibility of updating our church signage. We referred to Ministry and Administration to look into ways to improve our newsletter. Blessings in Christ, Session
