Compelling Vision Process The denomination s Compelling Vision Process will hold meetings at four sites in the Virlina District this fall. Each two hour meeting will be facilitated by a member of the Compelling Vision Process Team. Students! On Wednesday, September 26 at 7 am, join See You At The Pole at the flagpole outside your school to join in prayers for unity and renewal in our world. Members of Central join members of four other choirs to sing a Great Hymns of Faith concert at Calvary Baptist church. Admission is free. Date to be determined. Dick Gottshall and Hannah Oakes will lead Virlina District s retreat on October 13 at Camp Bethel to address Listening to God in a Noisy World despite all its distractions. The $25 registration fee covers lunch. Register by October 1 by calling the Virlina office at 362-1816 or visiting Virlina s website.
The annual CROP Walk to alleviate hunger locally, nationally, and globally will be on Sunday, October 14, 2018. It will begin at 2:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church. If you are not able to walk and would like to make a contribution, please write the check to CROP/CWS and give it to David or Joyce Childers. Let s defeat hunger one step at a time! From Communion to Community is hosting Creating Change in Color on October 18, a community event at Calvary Baptist Church, 602 Campbell Ave from 5:30-8pm. Let the fall s colorful leaves inspire our community to come together despite our different appearances. Shared dinner will be followed by discussion.
