Date: 14 & 15 March 2015 GKidz Barnabas Club Mission 1615, Yes I Can! Lesson 3 Yes! I Can Share My Testimony! Bible Text & Declaration (To be memorized) I can do all this by the power of Christ. He gives me strength. Philippians 4:13 (NIRV) Learning Objectives Children will know how to write and share their testimony. PLATFORM TEACHING Materials Needed: Thumbdrive with Emmanuel Poh s baptism video Teacher 1: Mission 1615 is getting more and more exciting! How many of you manage to bless 3 friends with prayer favours this week? Or, how many of you manage to give out 3 flyers and 3 crafts? Teacher 2: As we continue to invite our friends to come for this year s Easter programme, we need to know how to tell our friends more about Jesus and GKidz if they ever asked! I have one boy/girl in my group who told me that when his/her friend asked him/her what it means to be a Christian, he/she couldn't answer! He/She didn't know where to start. Teacher 1: Oh that s not a problem! We can help him/her to start! Today, we are going to get ready for that. We are going to be EVER READY to share our testimony, our life story with Jesus to our friends. Teacher 2: What is a testimony? Sounds like some kind of test. Teacher 1: No it is not a test. It is about testifying, which means telling others what you have seen and experienced. So in this case, it is like telling a story about how you have seen and experienced God in your life. Teacher 2: Oh, so how should we start? Teacher 1: The small group leaders will guide each child to write their testimony, but before that, let s watch one testimony about the life of a child called Emmanuel Poh, who is also in Barnabas Club. (Play Baptism Video of Emmanuel Poh) Teacher 2: Wow! That is such a powerful testimony of God s healing power! 1
Teacher 1: That s right! And God has given every child their unique experience with Him. He shows that He is real in different ways. So every child who is a Christian will have a story to testify about God. Teacher 2: What if I don't have a story to tell? Teacher 1: Then pray that you will really experience God powerfully! While everyone else is writing their testimony later, you can do your devotion. (Leaders, please let the new visitors or Christians read the SENA material that has been printed for them as they are likely not ready to write their personal testimony. ) Teacher 2: Ok cool! I think I will start by praying and asking the Holy Spirit to help me remember the things that God has done for me. I am ready to start writing my testimony! Let s go to our small group now! SMALL GROUP TIME (60 mins) A. CONNECT Have the children make up a story by using words that they pick up from the list below: Avocado, Bees, Cushion, Dinner, Father, Elastic, Gentle, Hippopotamus, Ice, Jesus (Leaders can write these words on a white board or one a piece of paper.) Each child will pick up one word, and add on to the storyline that is given by the previous person. Have fun! B. TESTIMONY WRITING Share with the children that ideas will start to come to mind as they start writing, just like the way they played the ice breaker. However, this time, they are to write about a real story that they have experienced. Refer to Annex A and go through both pages listed with the children. Give the children 10 minutes to fill up the Testimony Page. Collect the testimony after they have finished writing. (Leaders, pls read the testimonies before you return them to the children next week. Also, have the children share their testimony with one another next week.) C. PRAYER 1. 3x3 Prayer Continue to believe that God can use you to be a great blessing to 3 pre-believing friends! There is power in prayer as you stand in the gap and pray for your friends. In your groups of 3, spend some time to pray for the 9 names that you have written on your 3x3 card. Give out the flyers and the craft after you have prayed for them. 2
2. MISSION 1615 Yes, I Can Bless 50! Challenge the group to set a goal to achieve blessing 50 people as a cell. Create a chart, think of a creative way to keep track of the group s effort to bless 50 people as a cell! (As their leader, lead by example. You must contribute to this goal as well.) 3
