July at 7.30pm Over recent years a number of measures were introduced to ensure people attending our annual Cemetery Mass can commemorate their loved ones with dignity and respect while doing so in a safe environment. These measures have proven very successful and have ensured a safe and solemn occasion. The measures will be implemented again this year and will be as follows Only cars with valid invalidity passes will be allowed into the Cemetery for the Mass. Cars with valid passes are asked to be in the Cemetery before 7 pm Car parking will be available in the vicinity of the Cemetery. The locations are as follows St. Lazarians School, Youth Centre (pedestrian access through to Cemetery), O'Hanrahans GAA, The Hurling Club, Dr. Cullen Park and Whitelite. Park safely & use pedestrian crossings. Car Parks will have stewards There will be a drop off point opposite Advance Tyres, outside the main gates. This will ensure that the Emergency Services will have full access to the Cemetery and also help to prevent unwanted items getting into the Cemetery in car boots. Very tight restrictions on vehicles entering the Cemetery will apply from 2 PM and the gates will be pedestrian only from 4.00 PM. People are advised to have all maintenance on graves completed by 2 PM. Cars will not be allowed to move or leave the Cemetery for fifteen minutes after Mass concludes. This is to allow all pedestrians to exit safely. Gardaí and security personnel will be on hand from early in the morning to enforce the above controls. They will also patrol inside the Cemetery as well as outside. We are asking everyone attending to cooperate with Gardai, security personnel, Council and voluntary officials to ensure this cherished event passes off without incident and everyone can attend in safety and reverence.
