THANKSGIVING AT DIVINE INFANT Mass of Thanksgiving at 9:00 am Donations to Saint Vincent De Paul Society Please bring a monetary donation and/or nonperishable food items with you to Church Thanksgiving Morning. These donations will go to the St. Vincent De Paul Society who aid the hungry of our area. Please, DO NOT leave food in the normal containers in the vestibule, but keep it with you in the pew. During Mass, after the regular collection, we will be invited to bring our gifts (food) to the Altar. This beautiful procession will strongly symbolize our willingness to share our gifts with one another, and that the hungry and less fortunate hold an important place in our hearts. Happy Thanksgiving! The Divine Infant Liturgy Committee. RECTORY OFFICE CLOSED The rectory office will be closed on Thursday, November 26th and Friday, November 27th for the Thanksgiving holiday. GIVING TREE The Giving Tree for St. Martin de Porres Parish is located in the vestibule of church. Take an ornament with the age of the recipient, put the size of the clothing in the space provided (if applicable) and return the wrapped package to the vestibule of church. All gifts must be returned by Sunday, December 6th. Thank you for your generosity! THANKSGIVING PRAYER Good and gracious God, we come before you today united with all who give You thanks and praise. Fill us with gratitude and Your many blessings. We thank you in particular this day for the gifts of food and family. Bless this food, Lord, that it may nourish our bodies. Bless our family, especially those who cannot be with us today. Also, today we remember those of our family who have gone to be with You. Grant us Your spiritual blessings and help us pray daily for the grace to serve You in response to Your bountiful gifts to us. Bless all who serve You throughout the world. We pray this in the name of Jesus, Your Son, our Lord, who gives all things freely according to our needs. Continue to bless us and give us Your Peace. Amen. CHRISTMAS CANTATA We are excited to announce the revival of the DI Christmas Cantata on the 25th anniversary of the last DI cantata production, Not a Creature Was Stirring, in cooperation with our school and parish music departments and our entire Divine Infant community! After our school bands have played their Christmas selections, our church will come alive as the voices of our children become the mice and cats who live in the church s storage room and custodian s quarters. The mouse and feline families are trying to understand the Christmas story based on what they have heard over the years during practices and Christmas programs held in the church. The families will sing, dance, sign and play hand chimes as they take you through the story as they get to the point of understanding that Jesus Brought Us Love. So, please save the date, Monday, December 21, 2015, 7:00 pm. Tell you family and friends that it s a Christmas event they won t want to miss...for the real meaning of Christmas.

Our Holiday Remembrance Event is intended to help people cope with the grief they may face during the holiday season. We would like to extend an invitation for those of you who have experienced a loss of a loved one this year. This event will be an interactive session of reflection and hope. We have invited Anthony H. Morris, M.A. as the keynote speaker to share with you his vision and philosophy about dealing with life s unexpected turns and how to take the steps to begin the healing process. We will also have Rev. Dan Willis and Rev. Denis Condon who will attempt to answer those tough questions and pay tribute for those who we have lost. Date: Saturday, December 5, 2015 Place: Time: Hitzeman Funeral Home 9445 West 31st Street Brookfield, Il 60513 3 pm 4:30 pm We encourage you to bring a guest for support. INTERFAITH CAREER NETWORK Attaining and Retaining Employee Referrals Join us on Thursday, December 3 from 7-9 pm and discover the importance of having employee referrals as part of your current and future job search. Our speaker, Robert Rosell, will walk you through all the steps from start to finish in preparing to find, searching and selecting potential referrals, writing introduction messages and what to say to a potential employee referral. You'll also learn how to find employee referrals using two virtually unknown free LinkedIn features. Interestingly, Bob landed his current position at Electro- Motive Diesel through several management referrals from employees he helped place there and who he had previously worked with at another company. Lesson learned - more people are landing jobs today through employee referrals compared to just a few years ago. For more detailed career and biography information about Bob, go to http://.linkedin.com/in/robertrosell. This meeting is open to everyone and there is no cost to attend. We look forward to seeing you at St. Cletus School Building, Room 201, 700 W. 55th Street in La Grange. Look for the ICN sign outside and use the flag pole entrance. Career Resource Center Join us on Wednesday, December 2 from 7-9pm. The CRC is a volunteer staffed resource where job seekers receive assistance with internet usage, resume/cover letter preparation and electronic job search skills including LinkedIn...a powerful tool that will help energize your job search. BEST BUDDIES PROGRAM Divine Infant parishioner and alum, Julie Calcagno, is a special education teacher at Morton West High School and helps run the Best Buddies program at the school. Best Buddies is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)). One of Julie s students designed the attached flyer advertising the fundraiser they re having at the Culver's on the south east corner of 1 st Avenue and Ogden in Lyons (8211 Ogden Avenue) on Wednesday, December 2, from 5-8 p.m.. Bring along the flyer and Culver s will donate a portion of the proceeds to support the Best Buddies program. These young men and women have quite a few challenges in their lives and I can t think of a better way to kick off the Christmas season than to share our blessings with them. All we have to do is stop in, grab a burger, fries and some amazing ice cream on Wednesday, December 2 nd to help them out. If you can spread the word to others that would be most appreciated! Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!!! For more information about Best Buddies, please feel free to check out their website: www.bestbuddiesillinois.org
