And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to myself. John 12:32 (NLT) A Word From Our Pastor Dear Friends, We have come a long way in the past six years. We have grown both numerically and as followers of Jesus. God has been so faithful to grow His church. Whether you have been here for all six years or just the last six months, we ve been building something together. We've been building a community of faith that is committed to seeing people go higher in their relationship with God, in their relationships with others, and in their impact and service on the world. Since the very beginning, Elevation Church has been portable. We have loaded-in and loaded-out in various forms. We have learned so much about God s faithfulness and have had our own character shaped during these years of transitionary living and ministry. God has done so much! One of my favorite memories will always be baptizing people in a portable tub in a movie theater. What s one of your favorite memories? Now it s time to go higher again! As we celebrate all that God has done in the last six years, it is time to press on toward the next season of ministry prepared for us. God has provided once again. While our space has gotten smaller at the movie theater, God has been working behind the scenes on our behalf to deliver a new opportunity for us as a church. In order to fully realize this opportunity, we are embarking on a capital campaign. The components of this campaign are significant the cost might even seem a little daunting and yet we believe God s call on us as a church is larger still. We have been given so much; it is time again to pursue a vision that stretches us, that asks us to lean forward, and to together risk another step of faith. May we be of one mind as we enter into this new and exciting journey of risktaking faith and belief in a God who holds the whole world in His hands. Going higher! Daniel Taylor, Lead Pastor

Seasons of Going Higher Going Higher at RiverChase Before our official launch day, Elevation started out with monthly preview gatherings at RiverChase Recreational Center. The church started to grow. Going Higher at Rockwood Summit High School Elevation launched on Sunday, February 12, 2012 with over two hundred people in attendance. Rockwood Summit would be our home for only eighteen months. Going Higher at Ronnies 20 Cine After discovering our lease wouldn t be renewed, we needed to move again. God provided, and this time it was a movie theater. The Lord God is my strength [my source of courage, my invincible army]; He has made my feet [steady and sure] like hinds feet and makes me walk [forward with spiritual confidence] on my high places [of challenge and responsibility]. Habakkuk 3:19 (AMP)

Our 2017 Capital Campaign will be guided by a simple, yet powerful metaphor found in the word UP. Definition: UP in or into a higher position or level; with greater intensity; in or into a better or more advanced state Upping Our Space, Environment, and Impact In order to get a rocket into space, you must have enough fuel. In reality, the rocket uses most of its fuel just to get off the ground. We are going to need a lot of fuel to get off the ground in our new space. We have determined the amount of fuel we need for this launch and listed it below in three different categories: Fuel Tank 1 $ 25,000 (a tithe unto God for ministry outside the walls of Elevation) Fuel Tank 2 $ 50,000 (escrowed with the bank to be returned to us after three years) Fuel Tank 3 $ 175,000 (everything needed to outfit the space and environment for greater outreach) Campaign Total: $ 250,000 4

Yes, this is a campaign. But really, it s an invitation to be a part of something greater. We want everyone to know Jesus. And this campaign helps create space for our friends, family, and neighbors to experience the love of Jesus in a way that will change their lives. We will be strategically positioned to have a greater impact in the community, and see many come to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Fuel Tank 1 $ 25,000 (a tithe to God for ministry outside the walls of Elevation) Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine. Proverbs 3:9 (NKJV) The first of the firstfruits of your land you shall bring into the house of the Lord your God. Exodus 23:19 (NKJV) As a church, we believe fully in the principle of the first. Throughout the Bible, we are instructed to honor God by bringing our firstfruits as an act of worship. We will wholeheartedly do this with the UP Campaign, believing that God will not only bless the firstfruits, but also the rest that is given. It is always better to live on 90% that s blessed than 100% that s cursed. We endeavor to honor God first in all that we do!

Fuel Tank 2 $ 50,000 (escrowed with the bank to be returned to us after three years) For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield. Psalm 5:12 (NKJV) If a man makes a vow to the Lord, or swears an oath to bind himself by some agreement, he shall not break his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth. Numbers 30:2 (NKJV) By God's grace and mercy, we have been able to negotiate a lease that works for us. The bank, along with the owner of the space, has agreed to allow us to only place $50,000 in escrow, which will be returned to us in three years. This amount is necessary to secure the lease. 6

Fuel Tank 3 $ 175,000 (everything needed to outfit the space and environment for greater outreach) An Ancient Story with Modern Day Implications (1 Chronicles 29) Then David the king addressed the congregation [concerning the building of the temple] this is not just a place for people to meet each other, but a house for God to meet us. I ve done my best to get everything together for building this house for my God, all the materials necessary: gold, silver, bronze, iron, lumber, precious and varicolored stones, and building stones vast stockpiles. Furthermore, because my heart is in this, in addition to and beyond what I have gathered, I m turning over my personal fortune of gold and silver for making this place of worship for my God: 3,000 talents (about 113 tons) of gold all from Ophir, the best and 7,000 talents (214 tons) of silver for covering the walls of the buildings, and for the gold and silver work by craftsmen and artisans. And now, how about you? Who among you is ready and willing to join in the giving? 1 Chronicles 29:1-5 (MSG) Ready and willing, the heads of families, leaders of the tribes of Israel, commanders and captains in the army, stewards of the king s affairs, stepped forward and gave willingly And the people were full of a sense of celebration all that giving! And all given willingly, freely! King David was exuberant. 1 Chronicles 29:6, 9 (MSG) But me who am I, and who are these my people, that we should presume to be giving something to you? Everything comes from you; all we re doing is giving back what we ve been given from your generous hand. As far as you re concerned, we re homeless, shiftless wanderers like our ancestors, our lives mere shadows, hardly anything to us. God, our God, all these materials these piles of stuff for building a house of worship for you, honoring your Holy Name it all came from you! It was all yours in the first place! I know, dear God, that you care nothing for the surface you want us, our true selves and so I have given from the heart, honestly and happily. And now see all these people doing the same, giving freely, willingly what a joy! O God, God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, keep this generous spirit alive forever in these people always, keep their hearts set firmly in you. 1 Chronicles 29:14-18 (MSG) 7

The Need Our goal is to create a welcoming space for worship, connection, and the next generation of Jesus followers. The owner of the space that we will be leasing will build out the entire space, but we will have enormous input for creating the interior space and overall design. We will be working with a design company called WAVE to help us in this process. Every area of the 7200 square feet will be professionally designed with reaching people for Jesus Christ in mind. The Opportunity We now are able to create a space that reflects our culture and our desire to welcome people of all generations into our church home, so that they might go higher in their relationship with God, others, and their impact on the world. Inviting people into the presence of God. We will design a modern worship space that draws on the latest technologies and designs. We believe that when we lift Jesus up in a way that people can understand, people s lives will be changed. This space will be sacred and dedicated to the worship of Jesus. Our prayer is always that when people come into worship at Elevation, the presence of God falls on them by simply walking into the space. Inviting people into Christian community. A warm and welcoming lobby area is essential to any modern expression of God s Church. We want people to feel comfortable and cared for when they come into our doors. This space will be a perfect place for people to gather, drink a cup of coffee, share a funny story, or even cry with a friend in need. Investing in the next generation. We will create a dynamic and dedicated space for children. This space will be age-appropriate and exciting. It will be a fun, safe, and themed environment that attracts young people and their parents. 8
