Request from Power to Change: Do you or someone you know have an apartment or basement suite that could house a mother and her two children for at least a few months? They are living in a shelter temporarily and looking for some more stable housing for the next few months. Please contact Rachel Janz: rachel.janz@p2c.com for more information. 2. MEI International Department is looking for families to host students from Japan and China this summer. July 18-31: Meiji program Japanese jr. high and high school students. Classes will run 9 a.m. 4 p.m. in the MEI Middle School. The payment for hosting two students is $910. We are still looking for homestays to host male students or to be backup families for male and female students. July 18 29: Kokugakuin program Japanese high school students. Classes will run 9 a.m 4 p.m. in the MEI Secondary School. The payment for hosting two students is $770. We are looking for MANY homestay families to host male or female students; this program will include over 100 students! Mennonite Cookbook Research: Lisa Cornish is working to complete her Master in Ministry degree. She is inviting women to complete a questionnaire that will benefit the academic and Mennonite communities by continuing to shed more light on the historic contribution of women and to turn a listening ear to the voice of the women who spoke through their cookbooks within and beyond their Mennonite community. 5. MB Mission Prayer Requests: July 1: Cecil & Tracy Ramos, MB Mission in Thailand. They will be hosting an ACTION team from the US arriving July 3. Pray that they would be able to create an environment where the team would meet Jesus in an impactful and real way, having their lives forever changed by the Holy Spirit. July 8: Richard & Hazel Funk, MB Mission in Austria. They are member care facilitators, who will be meeting with team leaders. Pray that these days will be enriching as they spend time sharing, praying for each other and asking God to guide them in member care decisions affecting their workers worldwide. Pray for safe travels and God s guidance and nearness to them. July 15: Somdy & Chanh Jusse, MB Mission in Thailand. Pray for resources for traveling and for the next two years in Thailand, Holy Spirit s leading and protections, and Sarah s schooling. July 22: Lianna Penner, MB Mission in Peru. Pray for the church in Trujillo, where she is responsible to train and equip a team of Sunday School teachers. Pray that the children in these classes would be strengthened in their faith. July 29: Johann Matthies, MB Mission in Germany. Continue to pray for Johann in his role as the director of European mission development. Pray that God will give him wisdom and guidance to relate to churches in Europe, and to help nurture their mission and vision. Pray especially for his role in resourcing churches to respond to the ongoing refugee crisis in Germany 6.
