Welcome Made One by Christ News for the Good of the Church Prelude Larghetto Handel Choral Call to Worship Opening Prayer * Hymn #49 The God of Abraham Praise Clothed by Christ Moment of Silence Corporate Prayer of Confession This is the proof of God s great love: that while we were sinners, Christ died for us. Trusting in God s grace, let us confess our sin. God of great mercy, we confess that we have sinned against You. You provide our daily bread; still we hunger for other things. You give Your word to guide us; still we surrender to temptation. Forgive us, God of grace. Create a clean heart within us, teach us Your holy way, and restore the joy of salvation, through Jesus Christ our Lord. God s love has been poured into our hearts through the gift of the Holy Spirit. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God. *Please rise in body and spirit.

Sharing of Christ s Peace * Song of Praise, We Are Singing We are singing for the Lord is our Light; we are singing for the Lord is our Light. (Repeat) We are singing, singing; we are singing, Oh, we are singing for the Lord is our Light. (Repeat) Repeat using the word dancing for singing. Sharing God s Blessings and Compassion Presentation of Tithes and Offerings Today we receive gifts for our Mission and Outreach ministry. Choral Musical Offering There s a Wideness in God s Mercy Faber *Doxology Hymn #606 Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow Prayers of the People and the Lord s Prayer Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Hearing God s Word of Hope and Power Time with the Children * Hymn #51 To Abraham and Sarah Scripture Reading Genesis 12:1-4a page 9 Sermon Leaving Home The Rev. Steve Frazier

Taking Christ s Blessing to the World * Hymn #634 To God Be the Glory Charge A Blessing in Music God s Time Is Best Bach * Benediction (sung) There s a Wideness in God s Mercy There s a wideness in God s mercy, like the wideness of the sea; there s a kindness in God s justice which is more than liberty. There is no place where earth s sorrows are more felt than up in heav n. There is no place where earth s failings have such kindly judgment giv n. There is welcome for the sinner and a promised grace made good; there is mercy with the Savior; there is healing in His blood. There is grace enough for thousands of new worlds as great as this; there is room for fresh creations in that upper home of bliss. For the love of God is broader than the measures of our mind, and the heart of the Eternal is most wonderfully kind. But we make this love too narrow by false limits of our own, and we magnify its strictness with a zeal God will not own. Tis not all we owe to Jesus; it is something more than all: greater good because of evil, larger mercy through the fall. Make our love, O God, more faithful; let us take You at Your word, and our lives will be thanksgiving for the goodness of the Lord.
