BEDFORD Priests often tell me how fast the years of ministry go by, and that they go by even faster as you move along. Given how quickly my year here went by, I need to brace myself for the future! I would like to express my profound gratitude to the Saint Elizabeth Seton Parish community for helping to make my time here very happy and filled with many graces! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by friendly words, affirmations, and many prayers. I've very much enjoyed the privilege of being a spiritual father to many and sharing God's infinite graces through the sacraments. Thank you as well for the very special farewell reception, and to the many people who organized such a special gathering and to the many more who came to offer warm words, prayers, and gifts. I'm deeply indebted to Monsignor Quinn whose friendship and mentoring assisted my transition into the priesthood in many ways, and also to the outstanding staff members and our army of volunteers who provided me with much support and a great witness to Christian generosity. Although I will miss serving this community, I am excited to become the shepherd at Saint Christopher Parish in Nashua! Their longtime pastor Monsignor Dick Kelly is retiring, and I am blessed to follow a faith-filled priest who did fine work and is loved by the people. The parish also has a wonderful school for kids in kindergarten through six grade. Though I won't attempt to bring any of you with me to my parish (at least publicly!), please feel welcome to make a visit or come to Mass should you ever be in that neck of the woods. Please keep me in your prayers so that I may be a holy, faithful, and joyful priest, and please continue to pray for the future priests that are in our midst. There's no better life than being conformed to the One who is life itself! May our Lord Jesus Christ continue to draw you deeper into the mystery of His saving love, and may His Blessed Mother keep you in her arms of healing, comfort and protection. The Lord bless you, and keep you; The Lord make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace. ~ Numbers 6:24-26 Thank you and have a great summer - God Bless you! In Christ, Father David A. Harris We would like to welcome back Msgr. Gilbert! We are happy & excited to have you with us! 2
