I can remember waiting for THE LETTER during my Augusts as a child. For me, it was not only to find out which teacher I would have, but also the bus schedule and what time I would get picked up in the morning. Each day I would wait for the mailman to show up, and then race my brothers to the mailbox, excited and nervous that THE LETTER from school might have arrived. Once we had THE LETTER, we kids would all fight to look at it first, and then shout out our joy or sorrow at the teacher assigned to us for the year. But no matter our individual reaction to who our teacher would be, there was always an overall thrill knowing that the school routine was about to begin again. Churches, of course, are also places of calendar and routine. September means that Sunday School, choir, social activities, and our regular slew of meetings will be up and running. We will soon go back to 2 Sunday morning services (beginning Sept. 23), and can look forward to fall favorites like Rally Day, Blessing of the Animals, and Oktoberfest. This September will also bring a visit from our bishop, The Rev. Tracie Bartholomew, who will join us on the 16 th as I am formally installed as your new pastor here at Redeemer. I am excited and humbled by this opportunity to serve with you in Vineland. I don t know if you rushed to the mailbox today, but consider this your LETTER calling you back to a new season in the church. Join us for the familiar routine, or try something new with an upcoming Bible study or volunteer opportunity. It is always good to see you and share the good news of Jesus! In Christ, Pastor Heather
